I’m a 20 year old starting player development coach from Puerto Rico and your advice in how to develop ball handling its crazy good. Also made me realize that the majority of the people focus on only the dribbling component in ball handling and leave out many other components that are as important. GREAT PODCAST!!! I never miss one.
It’s so funny cuz I knew about the third level, just realized it one day, that I was addicted to training. Physical training specifically. So stuff like skill training, strength, mobility, whatever. I’m addicted to that stuff and now I learn Paul is too.
I did a 7 week handles free program and it's definitely a game changer, if shooting is the most important skill being able to dribble a basketball is the second most important. Handles boost your confidence too.
First of all, I have to appreciate what you done again because your squid become bigger and smarter. Like you said young generation always focus in their hand instead of the footwork, agility and others. That is why a lot of them spent many time to do stationary ball handling. They should add some dynamic ball handling drill in their training like footwork and agility. This is the major key to get in the next level. My question is why we should do some 2 ball dribbling and tennis ball toss training? is it for coordination ? and what is the coordination for ball handling ?. The next question is how many time should we practice our ball handling one day ? Nothing but respect and love ! ONCE A SQUID, ALWAYS A SQUID.
16:00 thats facts, I was born after 9/11 so even though I'm 18 years old I've never lived in a world without computers. Sometimes I have to stop and think; what would this look like in 1950s? Or the 80's when my parents were my age.
Coach , I am a CSCS and you have got me curious enough to buy your program to try myself. im 5'11 , 212 lbs and about 12 percent Body fat .Would you advise me to get leaner before I start the Vert Code elite? Maybe a video addressing body comp and nutrition for athletes who are sensitive to flocculating weight or weight gain.
I thought he mentioned the best jumpers are between 9-10 % BF. So I’m trying to give myself the best chance since I’m in my late 20s . I maintained my strength pretty well while cutting fat . I started at 250lbs , I’m a former collegiate running back/full back at a Power 5 school for some background . For the last 6 months just working out ( resistance training , mainly weights ) 5-6 times per week excluding 2-3 cardio sessions a week also . And had a caloric deficit while trying to keep my protein around .7g for every pound of body weight .
Andrew Thoppil right I get the room for error on the test . I used inbody and did it more than once . So I’m about 12 percent give or take a percent or two . Just trying to figure out if I want to keep cutting a little longer or get to the program .
I watch Harden and am definitely influenced by him, need to work on my deceleration and getting the defenders off balance. Not sure how or if I'm suited to him though haha
48:10 bro why are you just giving away the trade secrets. this literally the sauce. all of it: deflate, grass, carpet all took my handles to ultra instinct level. i've added some new stuff lately that i'm sure you wont think of. oh and the bag on the ball thing works cant believe i slept on it for so long🕵️♂️
@@proddyg6348 I think he's saying that more out of admiration. A lot of the things he talks about I had to discover by accident through trial and error and observation when I was kid. Getting this kind of insight saves you TONS of time and let's you get straight into what works

Do shooting next! As well as planning skill workouts along with performance workouts
