This was very informative. I definitely learn alot from your channel. I am a 43 year old weekend warrior, freelance trainer, and basketball fan for life. I must admit your stuff is LEGIT!
11:50 wasn't that Dr. Yessis plyometrics who brought plyometrics to US as he translated Soviet Union training texts especially Verkhoshansky's work who was the founder of plyometrics?
Just started watching your channel, man only 2 videos in and I’m amazed at how much knowledge you are giving to young hoopers like myself trying to make a name for themselves, keep it up plz🙏🏽
Great conversation. Ramsey needs to check out Christian Thibaudeau's work on neurotyping. I think this will help give more insight to individualized training response based on body chemistry around the 1:04:15 mark. I've changed my training to cater to some of these principles based on my 1b neurotype and it's been a game changer.
Could you do a podcast about how do you build a program for a certin player, what makes a trainer great?, how to make players to buy in your training? And more dimes😂
Could you do one on mental ques? Whether that be things you say to get athletes motivated, or ques you get to get Max performance in a certain move, ie vertical mechanics and acceleration?
What's the strategy for bagley going on forward? Do u put 15, 20 PBS of nuclei on him to have him dominate inside, or do u just add like 5lbs of pure muscle the first 4 or 5 years per year and bring him along slowly so that bagley keeps his fluidity and overall speed/quickness? Bcuz I feel if bagley is developed correctly, he will be the best player in the nba
so why would someone want to be stiff compared to flexible? I watched the podcast and this is the only topic im kind of confused. Love the knowledge, keep it up
So the main thing is if you're flexible that means you can easily get into very stretched positions, but that doesn't necessarily mean you're strong in those positions. So if you end up in those positions with a lot of load or stress or torque you could very easily end up getting hurt. Someone who is stiff won't even be able to get into those positions so they won't accidentally overload a weak position. Now if course that stiff person will be limited in what they can do which may affect overall performance, so it's not that it's good to be stiff or bad to be flexible. There negatives and positives to both. But being hyper flexible definitely increases injury risk. If you are super flexible then you gotta work to be strong in those end ranges that you easily get into
Words of wisdom to the young bloods: "If the question is, how do you get to be the youngest NBA Head Strength Coach? It probably doesn't have a lot of Netflix involved."

one of the nicest conversation i've ever heard in the fitness industry
This is one of the greatest conversations on this podcast. I've listened to this episode at least 10 times.
nutrition, rest & happiness....that's real talk right there, one doesn't work without the other two. great insight provided here, keep them coming.
Wooow best podcast ever🙏🏽🙏🏽 plyo. during season, training on game day, recovery, squat or deadlift...🐰😍 so many topics amazing
Legs strength training and explosive lifts to get you legs pumped up and primed for a game seems like a really reasonable concept.
great to hear insight from a guy who's worked with NBA players.
