I'm obsessed with the night sky. I find my peace by looking at the beautiful never-ending night sky.
Me too
@@ainomaria8495 exactly. People have been watching and are still watching these constellations for thousands of years. Fascinating
Oi
@@UmutBloempot yess, I like reading about ancient ways of living as well. It somehow makes Me feel connected. That these stars are the exactly the same as observed by the people that lived centuries ago.
@@ainomaria8495 that's so cool. These things connect everyone from all over the globe.
Orion..the most beautiful constellation^^
Thx i live there
I just saw the Orion belt, so beautiful 😍
What about his right leg is that beautiful?
Yess
I spotted M31 just a couple of hours ago
shes right about tv. We dont stop and really think as much as we once did. Nothing intrigues me more than looking up at the night sky
True. Even though I'm a 90's kid the fact that technology has taken over lives is saddening. Everybody is glued to their phones.
Today it is a very important day in my life. I'm 29 and I just learned about this. Till today I couldn't understand constellations. Great video, one of the best video I've seen in my life. I'll mark this day on the calendar. Now I can see the sky and point to Orion. I used to see Orion all the time (I live in Colombia) but I didn't know that those three stars were Orion 😶 ... I can go and sleep very well, after watching the sky, of course!
Same,me too used to see it everyday, and I used to wonder sometimes like it is a T
The only one I see regularly is Scorpio. Unfortunately pollution makes the sky hazey.
Casey Hayward me to
orion is the common attractive
Casey Hayward we're in a type of scorpio era
Are you in the southern hemisphere at all? I only ever saw it on my trip to Australia. That and the southern cross. Both beautiful
Yes! I'm in South Africa.
1:26 Beetle Juice has his own star named after him
HAHA
I remember bein younger n camping up on my parents land for the night which is in the middle of the woods n no big city near by just a very small town but anyway during that night it was a moonless night meaning even less light making it easier to see more stars.. that night I shit u not I was able to see hundreds of thousands of stars.. like nearly the entire sky was almost just a glowing white n I've always wanted to see that again but have never been able to. It's one of those memories I'll always have but not sure if I'll ever experience again.
Why am i here. I live in the city where you can barely see a single star...
take a vacation to the country side
You can see helicopters

Constellations that can be recognized easily are :
- Orion (find the 'three kings' or Orion's belt, i.e. Alnitak, Alnilam, and Mintaka)
- Scorpio (recognize the sting, the hook-like asterism. This asterism is located near to the center of Milky Way)
- Crux (find the four bright stars near the south celestial pole that resembles a cross, or also can be found next to Alpha and Beta Centaury)
Thank u so much.the video has made my learning easy at the age of 62
A great book to find the Constellations with is H. A. Rey's "The Stars, a New Way to See Them", same guy who wrote the Curious George books. Been in print for over 60 years for good reason. He drew the Constellation lines so they look like the figures they portray. He's been criticized by some, but I personally believe he rediscovered the original outlines. I've used his Constellations for the last 50 years and always know my way around the stars. The one exception is the Constellation of Capricorn. I'm sorry, but it's imagined best as a woman's Bikini Bottom (shows you where my mind is at).

I LOVE STARS💖💖
Why?
BECAUSE
Why not
@@drlove3825 makes me want to know more about the universe

The night I spotted the constellation ORION for the first time and bychance, after going to bed I stayed awake whole night checking constellations on RUclips. Next time spotted casseopia and iota casseiopia. Waiting for clear sky to watch great conjunction 😍
So true. Have you checked out Santos Bonnacci here on youtube? He has plenty of great info that agrees with your statement. Some people will never come to terms with the truth, they can't handle it, and would much rather believe in the biblical fairytales which were not only designed to spread good morals but also tell the truth of the zodiac. People have a hard time reading between the lines and only use one side of a double edged sword until it has become dull and boring. Your eyes are open.
There are a few others, the best of which are Crux (L. cross) and Scorpius. I don't know how much of Scorpius you can see from your latitude, but I see it right overhead and it is spectacular.
Just what I was looking for.
We are going to a star party tonight!
Watching the stars.
It so nice to look our stars
I feel more better that there are other people that like stars not just me
Love you dark sky when ..with full of twinkling stars..
from my house's facade i can distinguish ursa major, ursa minor, cepheus and cassiopeia which are clearly noticeable. yet it is rigid and challenging to distinguish drago and booter though they are neighbouring the patterns i cited.
Those constellations are a standard for the Northern Hemisphere citizens. The Dragon is huge and dim, it's hard to see in the city.
the one Northern Circumpolar Constellation hitherto unmentioned is Camelopardalis, my favourite to pronounce.!.
It it also, Large yet Obscure.
Scorpio is one of the easiest constellations to identify from my small city Sete Barras SP, Brazil, and from here we can never see the North Star.
Very true the last bit she says about the TV...
They have been known for 6,000 years, and almos no one looks up at the sky, only down at their phone.
I wanted to learn about the stars and Santos was the first thing that I clicked on. I got more than I expected lol. Graham Hancock was talking about the pyramids of Giza being in line with the belt of orion and the sphinx being lined up with Leo when talking about the age of the monuments being 12,500 yrs old. About the dino's, I have been wondering about that myself, you might find it of interest to check out, Lac Manicouagan, QC, Canada, on google maps. It is a huge meteor impact, imo it's epic
I see about half of these maybe even more because in the city of Abilene TX there ant much light from the city so you see thousands of stars and its always peaceful to me when I smoke a blunt an look up to the stars
Rule number one when using images: Dont stretch them so big they pixelate. Its not difficult finding images or scanning images so that they will be of standard quality.
Beautiful and they are revolve around us.
The irony in your name. Sorry, but you're not so special in this Universe for stars to go around you.
The only constellation I recognized is orion but that's ok since it's surrounded by bright stars such as siruis, capella, procyon etc
Rilla Kumma Sirius Black?
yes love the stars love them even more now since I witnessed 11 stars float cross sky just saw 2 last nite all stars are not stars we are truly being guarded by entities
Willam Bradshaw No, they really are stars.
@@zexisak4085 hahaha that's a good one
If they move kinda slow think satilites trace their line and wait 90 minutes , space shuttle 110 miles high 90 mins per orbit , if they move faster airplanes blink , they cruise at 509 miles an hour about 6 miles up , 30,000 feet. Military likes much higher.
To spot an Andromeda galaxy with naked eye, you just have to fine Cassiopeia constellation. That galaxy was at exactly left side of Queen Cassiopeia constellation.
It might have been a good idea to mention the Pleiades, because I know a few people who often mistake the Pleiades for Ursa Minor. Even I did that at one point, when I was a lot younger.
The basic shape of the star cluster does look a lot like the little dipper, but it's far too small and puts out way too much light to be a constellation.
The LMC can be hard to find because there is nothing particularly notable in the vicinity. I (-33°) find it by starting from Achernar, locating Hydrus and going from there. As a bonus, this method also finds the SMC.
Perfectly possible, as Aquila is summer constelation (north hemisphere), Best distinguishable by three bright stars in a row, middle brighter (and not as close to each other as in Orion)
just happened here in my country philippines just 5 days ago june 22 2019 around 11:45 pm

WTF? this is nothing like picking out countries and cities. This is hard as Hell. The only one I recognize in the night are a group of stars that form a kite but I doubt It's a kite after watching this.
And here is perseus the Prince!

Great video! 👍🏼
It's sad that from these imaginary figures we've made in the sky, connecting stars* that are not even in the same plane--some closer and some much much farther--we've got horoscopes, which some people believe dictate their future 🤦🏽♂️
Someone thought that some stars "kind of" looked like a scale, and because the sun at that point was passing through that made-up constellation, suddenly you're a Libra! And now you'll have characteristics associated with the scales, like diplomacy and desire for harmony, while also being indecisive like a scale might shift back and forth 🤦🏽♂️
Not only that, but the constellation the sun was passing through about 2000 years ago isn't even the same in that month today due to Earth's wobble, yet we still group people born from Sep 23-Oct 22 as Libras.
How silly is it that people not only let their personalities be defined by this, but also believe what their future holds.
Anyways, that's my rant. Thanks for an informative video and for stressing the purpose of these constellations - it's just a way for us to group, recognize, name and find key stars.
* using the term "star" in its generic meaning
Sirius is also called the Dog Star and like if you agree
Interesting +200xp whoo HOO yea DJ 💎💯

Can someone help me name this thing you can use to find the constellations visible in certain times of the year. Its a circle shape and you rotate parts to allign the date (dd/mm), and it shows constellations for that time
I always see taurus and gemini every night time
Ayir Zoldyck, no you don't. You don't spend a lot of time looking at the stars at all. These constellations are about to set until fall. It is part of the sidereal year. It is the proof the earth spins and orbits the sun. This is a perpetuated lie continually fostered by flat earthers without a grain of truth.
Constellations are different depending on what part of the year it is and where on earth you are, where are the constellations situated in here?
I love it
@porusmetro Just for you to know, this is actually the international standard
Nice

What time of day/ night are you seeing it? It could've mars?
Iam just getting interested in the Sky now May 2020 corona Virus lockdown
haha. Lac Manicougan, canada, isn't alone in that same little area though. There are several other impact crators north east and north west (Lac A I'Eau Claire & Mistastin lake) that are significantly smaller. What has me wondering is Hudson Bay, with its circular shape, maybe caused by a much much bigger impact than all the others combined? lol Maybe people are right when they tell me that I think to much, I can't help it though, I am a knowledge hound sniffing out things no one cares about lol
Job 38: 31 Can you tie the ropes of the Kimah constellation, Or untie the cords of the Kesil constellation? 32 Can you lead out a constellation in its season, Or guide the Ash constellation along with its sons? 33 Do you know the laws governing the heavens, Or can you impose their authority on the earth? 34 Can you raise your voice to the clouds To cause a flood of water to cover you? 35 Can you send out lightning bolts? Will they come and say to you, Here we are!36 Who put wisdom within the clouds Or gave understanding to the sky phenomenon?
Apocalypse 14: 6 And I saw another angel flying in midheaven, and he had everlasting good news to declare to those who dwell on the earth, to every nation and tribe and tongue and people. 7 He was saying in a loud voice: “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of judgment by him has arrived, so worship the One who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and the springs of water.” ("יְהֹוָה,YHWH,Yahveh, Jehova") (Isaiah 42: 8-9, Psalms 83: 19).

Hmm Nice video
millions upon billions of stars can be seen in the night sky if you're in a area that's not light polluted
