About Adventures Made From Scratch: I’m just a regular guy who likes to find adventure in day to day life. We may not be able to go travel the world, but there are plenty of opportunities at our door step. I do a mix of vintage car stuff, scrapyard stuff, nature hiking, and who knows what else?!? Come with me as I take you along for a ride in my world!

Silas giving away all the secrets of the junk business 😂
People won’t put in the effort anyway 😆
I have the utmost respect for how you do business. You actually give a dang, and legiately try to sell stuff complete instead of just cutting it up. If it doesn't sell you still make your money from scrapping, cutting the noses off. You're educated on what you're looking at and buying, and thats amazing, I'm learning all kinds of things off you.
The van for $500 was a good buy, too bad you didn’t score the cutlass supreme.
The Raleigh bike with the Campagnola accessories true vintage racing bike 🇨🇦👍
GOOD SHOW BABBLES 😅😅😅😅
Those Ford valve covers are for Ford Essex 3.1 V6 engine. They are for the british Fords (think of 70's Ford Capri)
I suspect the guys at Lucore Automotive in Ohio might be interested in those valve covers. They have been working on some Capri performance cars.
I really enjoy these auction videos! Well done. Would sure love those flat green metal shades, dang!
Silas.. please look up that wood top wicker picnic basket.. I sold one like it at Auction and got 100.00 for it.. People are crazy about the wooden top ones..
For a vintage car that's clean and in really good shape, I thought the bidding on the white Cutlass would be insane but no sale. Overall Silas, you brought home a good haul.
Great video i to love auctions needed a door for my 96 f350 ended up buying 8 of them for 10 to 15 each at the last auction bought a 275 gal tote of magnesium chloride deicer for 50 it sells from distributor for 900 deals are out there keep it up
Everytime Silas says he's not gonna buy much....
Large picnic baskets are hard to find offer it for 15 plus shipping..probly go fast.
I'M A REAL FAN as I watch you ramble on till the end!
I'M A REAL FAN because he told me something I already knew long ago.
When he said he was ramble on and only a real fan was watching I started laughing I guess I am a real fan I like watching anything he does.
I guess I must be one of those real fans. I always stay to the end. I also do NOT mind your 'rambling'. The reason you are a great RUclipsr is that you are a real character with lots of energy and drive and good common sense and love to tell stories. You are a pleasure to watch, and all your true fans love to Ride-along-with-Silas! Plus, you make very satisfying, creative, and well put together videos. Of all the things you picked up on this auction, I am most drawn to the green enameled light shades. I have some of those and just really dig them.
Even $100 for that Schwinn tank bike is a bargain for the guy buying it from you. I much prefer to see this kind of stuff, with things being saved and resold, than seeing stuff get crushed. This was a good one.
I love seeing stuff crushed, but also saved as well
Agreed, the auction and property clean outs are the best content Silas makes. Although I don't deal with auto stuff, I've been a treasure hunter/reseller for a while. Hell eBay helped me get through the first year of Covid when the restaurant I n as managed closed and I decided to say fuck restaurants after nearly 25 years. Wanted a skilled trade that I enjoy so started welding school at a community college. With all the Federal money going around, my state is basically paying me to go to school. Graduate this winter and it's looking like I may a connect to get an apprenticeship with the local Boilermakers union.
Unfortunately, at this point my spare bedroom and home shop are about as crowded as Silas' salvage yard. Just mentioned to a friend the other day I wish I could hire someone to come list all my stuff on eBay because when I started school I didn't stop buying stuff to resell...
Rambling like he was at the end of this video so I'll shut up. Keep finding your adventures Silas cause it's damn entertaining!
Crush plastic, save metal! =)
Looks like you got $300 for the valve covers. That's not too shabby
You bought something unexpected? There’s a news flash!
😆 I guess that could be the title of every auction video that I go to.
I always watch your videos until the end as the advice you give is priceless Silas 👍🏻

Those vintage hubcaps are awesome. You don't see a lot of hubcaps like that DeSoto one.
My parents drove DeSotos until they went obsolete, but I don't remember that hubcap.
I'm trying to get someone I know sell me their 1954 DeSoto , It has a hemi under the hood. The only issue is a title. The owners are having trouble getting a replacement one. I want just to put in parades once I get it and get it running again.
@williambeahm2574 What year did they start putting that hemi in the DeSotos? I believe my parents had a 1951, a 1955, and I remember the 1959. It was coral color, 4-door hardtop and had tail light fins. I have pics of it. The "55 was a medium brown color. Those cars were built like a tank up until the 1959. It had an awful lot of glass compared to the earlier models.
The valve covers could be from a Mercury Capri, the European version from the 70’s
19:29 "Am I gonna be on RUclips again?"
😆
Yes.
i like the sign u are keeping.i really like watching u in action go getem.
Thank you so much for sharing your adventures with us.I have much envy of your life choice.
100% must watch !
Already subscribed but love auction videos. And your not rambling, explaining the process. Enjoyed your video, thank you
are any of the trucks is got a dump?i like the trucks& the guns, tools this an acution i would have would had love to been at
That husky nozzle usually runs over $100 new thru a dealer. It’s awesome that you sold those valve covers quick for full price.
My favourite item was that koler engine for $2.50. I love auction and I scrap to make money. I have a RUclips channel as well. Great video
Another great auction video! Favorite item was the Raleigh bike. Did one similarly about 30 yrs ago-bought it for $10 and sold it for $250 after putting new tires on it and cleaning it up. Keep the yard videos comig-we don't see stuff as nice as you find here in upstate NY. Was hoping you'd get the first F600, but glad you didn't get the Chevy!
What a great video. Enjoyed even the rambling, just like a regular conversation. Favorite items were the yard sticks. Thanks for sharing your adventures. Peace
Silas, i used to be a wheeler dealer as a kid too. Im a carpenter now, now i hustle my skills. People call me now, much easier:)
i like the way you put mine& not mine and the prices thank you for doing that
I love all the auctioneers different styles! Brings back so many great memories of my youth, growing up in KS and attending these auctions every summer with my great grandparents. Thanks for sharing!
Are you not doing your jack-o'-lanterns anymore ? Such a cool idea!
Dear Mr. Silas.
👍👌👏 Oh WOW, simply fantastic! Great purchases. Congratulations 🎉
I really liked a lot of those items. Thanks a lot for bringing me with you. Best regards, luck and especially health to all of you.
* Heathkit Tube Checker. That brought back memories. Heathkit products were kits you had to assemble yourself. Solder all the transistors to the board along with everything else. My dad made a few kits when I was a kid in the 60s. A stereo, and intercom system, and a ham radio. 👊😎👍
You remind me of myself, I go to auctions not going to buy anything are not much and end up buying more then I planned. Great video
I always laugh when Silas says he's not going to buy much, we know how that's going to go! 😉😄
All the hubcaps are Kool thanks for sharing with us and letting us know about your experience with eBay
It's amazing how much crap people can gather together
It's easy to get caught up in the bidding at an auction. You're good at keeping your bids in perspective.
Great content. You never know what your going to post and that is why I keep watching your videos. Outstanding job.
Great auction video. Fun seeing what was available. The hubcaps are my favorite. 👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏
I would love to do what you do in these videos. I see so many things that I cringe at the low price they go for. Unfortunately I would keep most of it. And that is why I am happy watching your videos form my chair. I love your videos keep them coming.
That picnic basket was nice.
In the middle 80's me and my brothers helped Dad flip house's, apartment, ect... We would find all kinds of good stuff and Trash Once a month go to the flea market and make Bank $$$ Like you said you have to keep it Rolling 👍
That picnic basket you don't want would probably bring $50-100 at one of the craft meets, if it's old enough. I didn't get a good look at the sides. Collectors of primitive nic-nacks eat them up if they're handmade and in decent shape.
I checked through all the comments re the stylised L hubcap you wanted info on. I saw LaSalle 3 times and a Lincoln. Both wrong. Its a Lafayette (Nash/Kelvinator Co). I have a skin the same that had a rotten steel inner. Cheers. You and Mr Goodpliers nail it on Auction coverage. Great state Kansas
FAVOURITE THING? that racing bike,it looks the same as the one i had in 1975 and i left it with my brother, never to be seen again,it was all ali and you could easily lift it with one hand
I have a big question for you. I mean like HUGE... You say that you are trying to sell sale cars in one piece like that 50 Olds 88 but I couldnt find where its listed! You have a car I am very interested from one of your recent videos, how do I get ahold of you?
The Ford Covers could be for the Ford V6 Cologne engine used in Europe.
If they are they're not standard fit.
Pretty cool video. Let me know if you run across any parts for a 1963 4cylinder Pontiac Lemans. I'd be happy to buy a few things from you that are small because I need them for my car.
Would have loved to see how much the Anvils went for. Great vid as usual Silas!!
=) It pains me to see anvils at auction. After my dad passed his was lifted from his wide open barn. His initials were on top. I can never stop looking at the top of every anvil. Somebody ground off his initials and sold it along with his janky old 1950 welder.
Could really use 2 of those old green light shades for my back yard...dang wish I lived a lot closer to come buy them...Alabama not close unfortunately.😢
Buy a European split system AC unit! For the garage! Where you’re packing shit!
Of those rifles you showed at 3:21 the brno semi-auto .22 would bring good money here in New Zealand. They are great little rifles, generally very accurate.
Auctions are fun that picnic basket with the hub caps ….believe it or not is very hard to find in that good of a condition….$30-$40..
Really enjoy these farm auctions, they overwelm me 5 minutes into them, thumbs up great video
OUCH !! Those wooden yardsticks are what my Mom used to whip my brothers and me with when we were little kids.
Until she broke one on my brother.....then we started to get the belt ! ......yes, the "good old days"......
Awesome awesome video here we use real nice picnic baskets like that to transport old English chickens to shows and to take are pigeons out to exercise them that's eysey 10-20$ bill here.
You know it’s weird we don’t have auctions in California that I know of in the Los Angeles California area?
That Cutlass was ugly & beautiful all @ the same time. Love it..greetings from sth 🇦🇺 Australia my brother.
I don't know where you are located, but I'm looking for another vehicle. That van would be worked great for me. Too bad it's gone.
I was just watching some of your auction adventures interesting a lot of stuff there is there any attractions out there like we could take a family trip out your way and just come and see all your play parties and exactly where you located this video was made 7 months ago it said
magnetos are crazy money when you need one. a j4 or i4 is like $400 for a rebuild and brinkman has lots of new parts available but they aint cheap either
I always watch til the end cause you are very knowledgeable about stuff 😊
At 21:55 I had a 77 Olds Cutlass but was a different color I bought new. Notice those pillow seats. Great video.
You're a smart guy, put together a work shop. Grab a cooler off of one of those refer trailers and stay cool.
Or hook it to your garage.
Take the wife on a picnic🙂
Awesome haul. Lots of good stuff. I wish I had time for that😎
Love the video pal . I liked the (wheel trims ( english name for hub caps ) from different models of cars my dad collected there for years . Had 100 of them .. very interesting finds . . Keep up the good work.
Fav item's of mine you bought was the picnic basket, the van ,and the little toy horse trailer..
Do you no what the cutlas and 3 grain trucks go for i watch your videos all the time for years now good videos from Edmonton Alberta
A Buddy of mine is a Knights Of Columbus or another realization that does a lot of nice things for the Community his organization collects old Eyeglasses and one of the things he does is collect them he s a night Owl and often calls me while he is going through a box and checking to see if there are any frames. made with real Gold so yes there are many of them that do have real Gold o them
The best part “am I gonna be on RUclips again”. 🤣🤣🤣
Appreciate the advice I've been thinking about selling on eBay for a while
Hi from here in the D Michigan hey the motor city 😊 thanks for your time and video of the Auction I saw some interesting things 😊
Always enjoy the rambling, the proof is in the pudding.
2:15....that basket is what is used to pick up golf balls at a driving range.
Should open a school of recycling, perhaps get some interns to help you.
That basket the wicker looking one that opens on each side looks like the one to witch put Toto in on the Wizard of Oz ! It be cool on the back of an old bicycle !
You got to watch out for thieves after a auction! Someone will steal your shirt!
My favorite thing you bought at the auction was your lunch! 😊
As I said when you were just starting on RUclips, you are a natural born Teacher. Thank you so very much.
Ford covers fit late 70. 80s v6. T bitd and mustang
What was that shear thing you bought at a auction awhile back the one on cart that ran off battery what's it called I want to buy one.
Good one , I think the light shades, those will be around 500 years .
Hey, is that blue panel a 59 Apache? The one on your property?
Yeah I got back on eBay so much I haven't sold anything on there for years. I still have something in my email from time-to-time saying we miss you come on back. I had a sizable store. Turn down a sizable offer from a Jewish groom and he'll guy on eBay. He he would just make people think he was us and he will rob them blind until my company wasn't worth anything. But my boys have really enjoyed the hustle and bustle of eBay back in the day. So I guess I'm rambling on in my comment. You know that Chevy truck is probably worth 1300 with a bent frame and all if you're building a pickup and wanted the cab.
The cab wasn’t the same as a pickup cab, and it was ruined anyway. The guy who bought it didn’t realize how badly wrecked it was. I’ve bought stuff like that before and then regretted it too 😆
What would take for the V8 hub cap shipped to Illinois
Definitely some good stuff there..but odds and ends stuff is coll.
The hub cap with the L is a Lasalle. Poor man's Cadillac.
2: 42 Snake drain cleaner without the sections?
How much for the yardsticks Silas?
Hi do you still have the tonka frame trailer if so how much ship to pa
Lugged frame bikes go for good money as they dont make them anymore.
Wassup
Ford V6 rocker covers are very rare and are for the English Kent V6 engine .
The L hubcap is unusual and great styling 😉. Polish it and hang it on the wall 👍 ... Fine Art ... ✌️🤠
Favorite auction item was the Hodaka Super Rat motorcycle even though you didn't get to buy it. I would have bought it from you if you had bought it.
That was definitely a cool piece!
Good score on smalls u go silas cheers 🥂 😊
Silas we'd like to see tractor too buddy God bless brother
I have some things to sell. I tried to sell on eBay but they wanted an address in the states. I have a USPS PO Box, on Guam. I have a bunch of ceramic, plastic and other materials figurines of pigs. A CD player that holds 300 CD’s, it was working great, but then it stopped working. I have other things. Let me know if you want more information.
I'm interested in the Raleigh road bike.
