Just got mine today. My order of the HEB Allscape tires just hit my door as well. Tomorrow, I got to change the tires and go through torques and will be tearing up the trails in my area. Thank you for bringing us along for the ride.
I've ordered one of these and glad it performs so well. Seems to strike the perfect balance of being under the radar and still a well performing ebike.
It's a great bike. I had the same problems with the chain but if you loosen the derailer from the frame and raise it up towards the back of the bike and tighten it also use an impact to tighten the guard in the front and you will fix the problem. Check all bolts when you receive it even if the video doesn't tell you to. That's it. Simple save yourself the headaches from my experience. Still a great bike. Unbelievably fun and exciting to ride. Do it! Pull the trigger man. 9:37
interesting but i like the ariel rider line. i do not need extra speed. motor impressive but i ride a sondors side step and im going fast enough. i have two sondors and i like the 27.5 big tires. i like being bigger in traffic. soon the law is going to change because ebikes are going too fast. some big crazy accident will force registrations and other ills. be safe out there.
I sold my last bike because it’s just too hard with my bad knees and steel rods in my back to throw my leg over it so I’m in the process of saving up for the dual step Starr, I got spoiled after putting two powerful batteries on my last bike, if I get the dual star with one battery, I’ll still be saving up for a second battery so I figure I better get a two battery bike in one pop.
I am not waiting months for a bike. E-cells sucks on delivery. But Their bikes are wonderful for sure. But I refuse to wait a life time for one. E-Cells should always at least have one of their awesome bikes in stock. Wired Freedom always has bikes in stock
I had a similar problem with my derailleur after a few rides. It wouldn't shift into 7th gear and the chain would come off on 1st gear. I loosened the slack on the cable so that it would stay in 7th gear all the time but now it won't shift down. So 7th gear with throttle it will stay for now. If you're looking into the microshift acolyte group set I'd definitely be interested in checking out that video.
Bro I've almost done that. Remember pas 0 or power off if you get off the bike! The gear shift problem is a very easy fix. Two screws on derailer to adjust. Common adjustment on a new bike
Seems as if the double-walled chain guard on front is a bit too flexible. Is it? I wonder if there is a replacement for the chain guard. So the chain pops off of the front sprocket when you are in 7th gear? The chain is too loose at that point I am assuming. Have you tried taking a link or two out of the chain? Perhaps that would put more pressure on the arm of the derailleur, thus keeping the chain tighter. Just a thought. I should be getting my bike this week (hopefully); I will be on the lookout for this problem. As far as speed goes - it would be suicidal for me to go that fast on my local trails. I would be taken out by a deer for sure or run over some pedestrians dog.
I probably can get the stock shimano set up working properly but there is also the chain slap issue. Tbh it's just an excuse to upgrade the bike! I also don't usually ride trails at 40mph, that's just for illustrative and entertainment purposes for yall!
Dude watch a how to video or two and adjust your derailleur correctly. It’s not a great derailleur but I got mine dialed in and have no issues now. I actually bought an upgraded derailleur and haven’t installed it. After setting the stock tourney correctly it shifts perfectly fine. Soon as it acts up I’ll swap it out but 300 miles in and still shifting great. I pedal 90% of my rides and shift through gears more than most e-bikers.
I understand I could probably get this one functional but Im swapping the whole cassette to get better gear ratios for how I ride. Plus the chain slap is pretty bad, I forgot to include that in my video bc the chain guard I added absorbs a lot of the sound.
@@TylersTrailRides I see, ya the chain bounce around is pretty noticeable on all these bikes. I’ll probably have to throw something on there to deal with that annoyance myself. If you’re riding with throttle over rough terrain it does help some to shift into 1st and take up some slack but a clutched derailleur or similar would be a nice add on.
I perfer single speed and that being 52 / 16 on 20" wheels and 52 / 18 on 26" wheeels. I think I want to try 54 on the 20" and smaller driver on the 26" setup. I think you don't need multi gear shifters with E.
@@baggerbenn Was it the E-cells video/employee? "Nick" I think his name was. It was also totally flat the whole way... but still... I thought it was impressive as hell. He was going a pretty decent pace it seemed. That was cool.
My Five Star will run about 30 miles range if running full balls out throttle, no pedaling at all. It seems to get faster and tourqier as it breaks in. I must of got REAL lucky, because about a month ago I called ECells, a girl answered. She asked my height and inseam, and recommended 19" frame. They had blue one in stock, she said it will ship today. Sure enough, tracking from FEDEX came that afternoon to my email, and package was in FEDEX possession in Henderson, NV that same evening. I had the beast in 4 days to NY. Love the bike it really is awesome 👍
Why does it take so long for Ecells Ebike to send out anything you order don’t they realize that their customers base is old as hell and will probably die any day we are tied of waiting for stuff that we have ordered 🤬
Imagine using your blinkers. Most people consider it to be too much work to use turn signals. Why should they BOTHER? Hopefully they get fined for their stupidity.
@@MrEgo9000 That is ridiculous... I had ordered a dual star, got impatient after a month and switched to the regular version and it was shipped within a week. They did not know I was a content creator until after I received mine. But I was probably very annoying as i called almost weekly about it
@@TylersTrailRidesAaaahh that’s why you can go so fast. Just joshing. I will be 180 lbs if I end up getting it so don’t think I will be able to hit those speeds as easily. I keep rolling over my mind whether or not to get the torque sensor. My current car bike with a cadence sensor drives me crazy with the ghost pedaling.
@@MrBalas3 I think with a powerful bike like this its best to go with the cadence sensor. I've seen really mixed comments on the effectiveness of the torque sensor on from people for this bike. That being said the only upgrade I personally would recommend is the dual star package as it seems really attractive but not necessary
@@TylersTrailRidesWith my height I think I would be more comfortable with the Step Star don’t really want to have to swing my leg over the rack cause I will have a grocery basket there. Although it does have that bend in the middle of the frame which may make it easier to get off. Wish they had the second battery in their accessories for ordering later. I wonder why not. As a matter of fact their options are missing for the most part 😮
I ended up selling my ecells 5 star (that I purchased with own money) because multiple people have said the same thing. I don't want to make more videos on companies or bikes who are not delivering

Any thoughts on how to stop safely?

Why are you pedaling when it's doing nothing?.
Exercise and a tiny bit of extra torque
You actually do feel like you're putting in (albeit a minor amount) in highest gear with full throttle. Def noticeable on a hill.
