Just ordered one. But with 14700hx and 512 gb ssd. I can upgrade it later, the battery life though, I hear what you said about its battery, but I prefer to start with it. My current laptop is Aspire with the battery life running down to 45 min after a few years. Compare that to my small HP Chromebook thats runs battery for 8 to 9 hrs.
@@techwithashleythe 3.2K screen is nicer but it's mainly for content creators that needs a more accurate screen. Also it's only at 165Hz vs 240Hz which gamers will notice a difference. Now will the 4070 reach 240fps? Not really on recent titles even on low settings. The 3.2K screen will put more pressure on the 4070 as well. At 16" 1600p 2.5K is perfectly fine while 3.2K or 4K would be more ideal for 18" if anything.
@@markpolo7 you will still only get the HD feed anyways and the last time I checked this is a gaming labtop first vs a media content consumption device.
I will have to say that the games youve played really did perform well. Even with or without the charger plugged in, the FPS for such a competitve esports game was solid for a thinner laptop compared to the Legion 7i Pro. Will definitely consider this as I plan on building my own PC in the future, especially to replace my laptop i have currenrly (i7-9750H, GTX 1660 TI)
😁 At the stickers and what guy said. I usual keep the graphic and CPU stickers but with thus white deck I might just take it all off for that clean look. I might pick this up at BB tomorrow since it's on sale rn. One good thing about having BB plus which I do have but not TT is that you have a 60 day price protection instead of just 14 days. If this gets a little cheaper soon then it's a solid deal for what you get. At $1,850 it's decent deal. Hopefully this will have an OLED screen next year to make it even more slim. 😊 Edit: 2 Masters, instant subbed. Hehe kidding but pretty cool content so far and yes I did sub cause of your humor. I don't play FPS so you're probably way better than me by a mile. 😊
Did you end up getting one? I love Best Buy 60 day return and definitely take advantage of it lol Thanks for the sub, I’m glad someone enjoys my humor.
@@techwithashley yeah I did. It looks soooo good. I do like it for the most part but like I stated originally that the price of this should be $1,500 instead due to it only having a 4070 115W. After tax and it being around $2K gives me some doubts. Yes that 60 day return window is awesome as well. I'll see if I really keep this tho as I'm comparing it to my 2022 Flow X16 3060 130W. I do see a performance boost for sure but is it enough to warrant a $2K upgrade? I'm not sure. In Forza Horizon 5 I could basically go from High to Ultra settings while keeping around the same FPS. So I might return it to get the Asus G16 4080 instead at $2,700. It's $850 more from the sale price or $700 more from the MSRP. To me it might be worth it for the extra GPU power at 125W, OLED screen, and better speakers. Oh and it has Windows Hello vs a FPS on the 7i. Still a lot of money but it would be more of an upgrade vs a minor one with the 7i. I will miss the per key RGB tho. I know they make the G16 in white but I believe it's more of a silver finish which I'm not a fan of. The G14 is in white I think but I want a larger display. Call me old 😊 Please do a review of the G14 and G16. I believe you haven't yet I don't think. 😊 Also I already got a 4090 rig at home so I don't have to have the best while on the go. Just something decent enough with great battery life. The G16 has Intel Meteor Lake CPUs. It's weaker than the 14th gen Raptor Lake CPUs when it comes to high output performance but trades that for better performance at low wattages leading to better battery life overall. They finally went AMD which I actually prefer.
Hey I just saw your video of the yoga pro 9i review because I just bought one. I’ve noticed you camera is awesome. Being as your a tech review channel could you review your camera, lens, mic setup? Or just tell me what they are/link in your descriptions lol.

Thanks for actually responding. But yeah, as someone who doesn’t know anything about cameras and what not it takes the confusion out of the process to hear directly from somebody who knows more than you do.
I LOVE how it looks but I didn't like the port layout. I have a Legion 5i from 2022 and one of the things I love about it is that there are so many ports on the backside. I always have my keyboard and mouse plugged in and because there are two Type-A ports behind (where I keep my mouse and keyboard always plugged in), my setup looks so clean !!! If the ports were on the side, my setup would be so messy.
Yeah, I like the option of having more ports on the back, seems very convenient for sure. Luckily I never have too many things plugged in to where it’s an issue.
lmao i ordered the same exact spec in the same color, watching every single video on it cause there are like less than 10 in total on youtube. also ordered it a week ago as a cto, still going to take a week more to come (this is early in india btw😭😭)
Since you are using it as your personal laptop I wanted to ask whether your laptop is facing the same problem of Intel processor failure cause I also thought to get the laptop but was worried after reading on reddit that the HX series is facing problem of crashing
So I returned this laptop (not because it was a bad one), but during the time I had it - I did not have any issues with the computer crashing, and I did not even know what was a problem.
@dremercer08 I needed it primarily for video editing, and it was able to edit and render videos but the MacBook Pro just ended up being a better pick because it rendered slightly faster and had wayyyyy longer battery life .... Also did not get hot when doing so. If I had the money I'd buy this laptop again tbh, but it just wasn't the right tool for me for what I needed.
Personally, I have not had any instances or the palm rest area getting too warm to where it's uncomfortable. If I experience high temps later on (since I've only had the laptop for a week), I'll be sure to give an update.
Hey. Awesome video. I have some questions (please be patient with me, lol). How long does the battery last? Is the display nice? (does it have good accurate colors because it seems to be a matte screen and glossy screens may have better/brighter colors. Sub questions- is it anti-glare? Is your reflection in the screen really blurry or can you actually see yourself, just not as clearly as on a glossy screen?) Why do you think the 2023 Legion Slim 7i with lower specs might be more expensive on Best Buy than this 2024 model? Sorry for the barrage of questions. I'm just genuinely interested.
The battery lasts ~2 hours for me lol I haven’t done much tweaking to see if I can get more, so it might be possible. I’d say the colors are accurate, but there is a 3.2k screen option that will have more accurate colors if that’s what you’re going for. The screen is matte enough to not see reflections etc. I’m not too sure behind the reasons on the price when compared to the 2023 model, maybe Lenovo is just restructuring their price point for this model moving forward but I have no idea.
Great review But I have a question what would the lifespan of this laptop be I am thinking of buying the 5i pro and I want to know the life span I will take proper care of it
@@yassinmohamed3135 I'd guess maybe 3-5 years. Since it doesn't have the best battery life (what gaming laptop does?) it eventually might have to stay plugged in… maybe past 5 years? I'm not too sure.
Omg I almost didn’t leave a comment, but I’m so glad I noticed the OBS! Do you have any problems using OBS on this? Would you recommend this one for streaming? Or do you think the pro would be a better fit? I’m really obsessed with their glacier white- but the 5 hr battery life is a little concerning 😫 ( even though I only stream 2-3 hrs )
Just ran across your review. Wondering if you had any issues with it at all? What’s funny is I’ve been watching the price and actually was returning a five because it did not have thunderbolt. And what strange as I’ve been watching how fast these things get picked up at open box at Best Buy. I’ve seen quite a few come in and then they go right back out again as soon as they pop up. So I’m wondering why people would be returning them? Other than they get a little warm compared to the 5i. And to be honest, I could care less about heat as on my razor you could cook eggs legitimately.
I think it has really good performance for a thinner gaming laptop. Naturally it does get warm, but it wasn’t anything too crazy that bothered me. It did seem to have a bug where when doing anything that turns on the dedicated GPU (like launching ANY games) the screen went completely black and I had to force restart. Turning HDR on in windows prevented this from happening, but hopefully that’s something they fix with a software update. I ended up returning mine, not because it wasn’t a great laptop but I need a laptop to be a video editing machine first, and gaming second and unfortunately it didn’t render any faster than my M1 MacBook Pro. And since I have a desktop PC I made the decision to swap it out for a M3 Max MacBook, even if I can’t game on it 😭 If my needs were different or money wasn’t an object I’d buy it again.
I got the 5i with the 4070, 32gb ram and 14900hx. Games are eye candy on this thing. A little confused on why full size SD cards matter so much, then again i'm gonna use this for computer science at school and not for content creation, so dont think it matters for me anyway. PS my stickers are also misaligned 😂
I haven't looked into that model too much, but Razer Blades are known to have good performance and build quality, but they also have a "premium" price tag. If you have the money for a premium device, then I am sure they are a good buy, but you can buy similar specs with a cheaper price tag. And OLEDs are gorgeous, so that's always a plus.
I returned the laptop and got a MacBook because it was better for my needs at this time. Overall I think it is a great laptop and would buy it again for gaming.
I m kinda confused. I don’t game a lot, my main use is college work/ online classes, Netflix and stuff….and ms office work…. So should I buy legion 7i with 4070 or hp spectre x360 with ultra 7 155
Personally, I'd go with the HP Spectre for school. You'll get better battery life, and I've seen it go on sale at Best Buy quite a few times now. The spectre also feels more premium.
Thanks! I think the main differences are the build quality and the 7i is supposed to have slightly more CPU power. The 7i has a glass trackpad and an aluminum build body versus the plastic on the 5i pro. Both seem like solid choice though.
I haven't looked too much into the G16, but have heard good things. I think it's ram is soldered though (that's the case for the G14), so that's a bit disappointing since you have to pay a higher premium for the ram configuration that you want.
@@techwithashley yeah it's unfortunate. I'm in the market myself for replacing my laptop that crashed about 4 months ago. I'm torn between the legeon pro 9i (I get a discount were I work) and the strix scar 16. I like the design and astetic of the 9i but I like the easier upgradability of the scar 16
Im Gonna Buy It- BUT not so much for gaming only for content creation-oh and school. SO can you give us your thoughts on how it is perfoming so far for that. tankz
I’ve only have it for about two weeks, but so far it’s been good. The battery life isn’t great, but that’s not a surprise. I truly love the keyboard though.
I remember seeing the black version for $1580 on the Lenovo site before and even the white one, stacked with coupons, credit card cashbacks and stuff does come down to ~$15-1600. But yeah the usual price is a bit much.

Don't buy ASUS products. My laptop had it's keyboard sttop working and killing 2 chargers (i wasn't even using the keyboard). The legion has better customer service
Been hearing Asus warranty frauds a lot. Like a lot. Should avoid Asus tho.
Your gameplay is 10/10 too its fun to watch
Thanks!
I really enjoyed watching this video! You're quite good at Call of Duty. Sadly, I'm terrible at shooting games lol so I'm a cozy gaming and I enjoy it a lot!!
Thank you! To be fair I probably play the Sims 4 more than I do call of duty lol I love cozy games too!
That's a really beautiful one .. is the screen good , OLED ?
I really love your way of reviewing , calm and clear ❤
Thank you! It is not OLED; it is an LCD panel with a 2560 x 1600 resolution. It is still really nice!
Thanks for the review. Can u please tell if the inside also made from aluminum? (around the keyboard) and how good the build quality?
It feels like aluminum all around
all aluminium not a single place where it is plastic
10:40 same!
It's a shame that LENOVO has not made the white color available on the Legion Pro Version.
Hey, great video. I just wanted to know if you managed to remove those stickers. How did you manage to get them off? Did it affect the white coating or paint?
I use duck adhesive remover and a microfiber cloth, works great and does not affect coating.
I agree with you.
If you want to go out with notebook you should get something lighter and probably with Apple Silicon or Qualcomm snapdragon X elite.
How is the contrast ratio on the display? Really wish it was mini-led or OLED but I guess this will have to do. Planning to buy the same one soon.
I think it's good, but Lenovo has this laptop with a 3.2k screen option; I just haven't found it for sale.
@@volcalstone But movies or series are better viewed on the screen in 3.2K than in lower resolution, because it has better colors.
@@markpolo7 you will still only get the HD feed anyways and the last time I checked this is a gaming labtop first vs a media content consumption device.
@@volcalstone But 4K videos will look better on this screen than on a lower resolution
Yeah, I was really surprised with the performance. I'm really loving it so far!
Edit: 2 Masters, instant subbed. Hehe kidding but pretty cool content so far and yes I did sub cause of your humor. I don't play FPS so you're probably way better than me by a mile. 😊
Did you end up getting one? I love Best Buy 60 day return and definitely take advantage of it lol
Thanks for the sub, I’m glad someone enjoys my humor.
Call me old 😊
Please do a review of the G14 and G16.
Oh I didn't know people wanted to know that lol maybe I'll start including it in my description like you mentioned!
Main camera: Sony A7IV
Main Lens: Tamron 17-28mm
Top down camera: Sony FX30
Top down Lens: Tamron 11-20mm
Mic: Rode wireless go
Thanks for actually responding. But yeah, as someone who doesn’t know anything about cameras and what not it takes the confusion out of the process to hear directly from somebody who knows more than you do.
can you give us the month update what are the pros and cons of the laptop?
I LOVE how it looks but I didn't like the port layout. I have a Legion 5i from 2022 and one of the things I love about it is that there are so many ports on the backside.
I always have my keyboard and mouse plugged in and because there are two Type-A ports behind (where I keep my mouse and keyboard always plugged in), my setup looks so clean !!!
If the ports were on the side, my setup would be so messy.
Yeah, I like the option of having more ports on the back, seems very convenient for sure. Luckily I never have too many things plugged in to where it’s an issue.
@@techwithashley 🍻👍🏼
lmao i ordered the same exact spec in the same color, watching every single video on it cause there are like less than 10 in total on youtube. also ordered it a week ago as a cto, still going to take a week more to come (this is early in india btw😭😭)
I hope you get it soon and enjoy it! It seems like a solid laptop so far.
Where u order it from

Did you order from the official website?
How much did it cost you?
How is the processor holding up? Apparently there have been issues with the intel 14th gen processors crapping out. I really want this laptop
I returned it months ago and recently got my hands on one again, but I haven't had any issues!
Info on battery life in normal usage versus while gaming.
@@techwithashley Can I ask why you returned it?
@dremercer08 I needed it primarily for video editing, and it was able to edit and render videos but the MacBook Pro just ended up being a better pick because it rendered slightly faster and had wayyyyy longer battery life .... Also did not get hot when doing so. If I had the money I'd buy this laptop again tbh, but it just wasn't the right tool for me for what I needed.
I will buy one day for sure😢
first vdeo i can find where people show off the charger and plug. tyvm
Thanks for sharing ordered same lapee with same specs but in dark color
Hope you like it!
Is Dell G15 5525 Ryzen 5 6600H a Good laptop for video editing and casual Gaming??
One more thing Which is very important, What do you think Palm rest area surface temperature while gaming or load? Is it comfortable or too warm, Hot?
Personally, I have not had any instances or the palm rest area getting too warm to where it's uncomfortable. If I experience high temps later on (since I've only had the laptop for a week), I'll be sure to give an update.
@23:45 MSI tool on Legion?
@@rudrapratapsingh213 MSI afterburner is available to download on Windows laptops
Hey, I'm considering this or a dell xps 15 for programming and minimal coding, which should i go for?
I haven’t reviewed any dell xps laptops, but if it has an Intel Core Ultra series it’ll probably run cooler and have better battery life potential.
@@techwithashley okay great suggestion thanks
Great review
But I have a question what would the lifespan of this laptop be I am thinking of buying the 5i pro and I want to know the life span I will take proper care of it
@@yassinmohamed3135 I'd guess maybe 3-5 years. Since it doesn't have the best battery life (what gaming laptop does?) it eventually might have to stay plugged in… maybe past 5 years? I'm not too sure.
Great review and nice gameplay performance :). Which mouse are you using in the video?
In the video I was using an Alienware AW610M, but prefer my Logitech G502 X
@@techwithashley Thank You 😇
Omg I almost didn’t leave a comment, but I’m so glad I noticed the OBS! Do you have any problems using OBS on this? Would you recommend this one for streaming? Or do you think the pro would be a better fit? I’m really obsessed with their glacier white- but the 5 hr battery life is a little concerning 😫 ( even though I only stream 2-3 hrs )
I didn’t have any issues, I assume you can stream with the laptop plugged in.
The whole laptop is aluminium build or only the top and bottom lid ? What about keyboard deck and frame ?
The whole laptop feels aluminum, keyboard deck included.
Is the Base macbook pro M3 pro better than this for data science and machine learning?
Both are going to work well for that, just depends if you want to play games as well. The MacBook will run cooler and quieter
And since I have a desktop PC I made the decision to swap it out for a M3 Max MacBook, even if I can’t game on it 😭
If my needs were different or money wasn’t an object I’d buy it again.
Great video.
Love this
Thank you!
Its so beautiful 😭😭

Have you tried mw3 DMZ mode?
Hi, I have a question, does the laptop comes with mux Switch or something to bost the performance, not just the lenovo turbo Mode
You can overclock the GPU in the Lenovo Vantage software.
@@techwithashley thanks
Good work.
Thanks!
what settings were you running on call of duty
I play on “basic”
What do you think about the Razer blade 16 Oled? New 2024?
I haven't looked into that model too much, but Razer Blades are known to have good performance and build quality, but they also have a "premium" price tag. If you have the money for a premium device, then I am sure they are a good buy, but you can buy similar specs with a cheaper price tag. And OLEDs are gorgeous, so that's always a plus.
Great video!
Thanks!
It looks amazing
How long does the battery last without toys
did you customize on laptop when buying from lenovo website
I bought from Best Buy, so no.

I returned the laptop and got a MacBook because it was better for my needs at this time. Overall I think it is a great laptop and would buy it again for gaming.
@@techwithashley i guess you would say a MacBook is lighter and thinner? more portable than the Legion 7i
I actually think they’re pretty similar tbh!
How to get in white i am not getttting 😭😭😭😭
I m kinda confused. I don’t game a lot, my main use is college work/ online classes, Netflix and stuff….and ms office work…. So should I buy legion 7i with 4070 or hp spectre x360 with ultra 7 155
Correction: with 4060…..4070 is beyond budget also I need great screen like 2.8k or something like that
Personally, I'd go with the HP Spectre for school. You'll get better battery life, and I've seen it go on sale at Best Buy quite a few times now. The spectre also feels more premium.
@@techwithashley appreciate the reply Ashley. Will probably get the spectre.
No problem, good luck in your classes.

I have same specs but different is i have legion 5i pro instead 😭 what are major difference between 7i and 5i pro?
PS :- the way u talk is so sweet and cute 😭
Thanks! I think the main differences are the build quality and the 7i is supposed to have slightly more CPU power. The 7i has a glass trackpad and an aluminum build body versus the plastic on the 5i pro. Both seem like solid choice though.
May I ask why you chose that model over the 9i?
If you're referring to the legion 9i, that one is way too expensive.
@@techwithashley I understand have you looked at the asus rog zephyrus g16?
I haven't looked too much into the G16, but have heard good things. I think it's ram is soldered though (that's the case for the G14), so that's a bit disappointing since you have to pay a higher premium for the ram configuration that you want.
@@techwithashley yeah it's unfortunate. I'm in the market myself for replacing my laptop that crashed about 4 months ago. is the fan noise distracting?
It's loud, but isn't distracting to me
Why does the white one cost more than the black ones😭
This would be the perfect laptop if it is priced down to $1,500.
I remember seeing the black version for $1580 on the Lenovo site before and even the white one, stacked with coupons, credit card cashbacks and stuff does come down to ~$15-1600. But yeah the usual price is a bit much.
I really wanna buy the white colour but i am afraid it will get dirty
