I feel like the sponge would leave your hair drier because it will absorb the moisture and product. The comb won't do that so the moisture in your hair will last longer.
Love both. It seems the comb offers a more defined and tighter curl, while the sponged curls look fuller and more natural. So I guess it would depend on whatever desired outcome you're in the mood for. Great tutorial, thanks!
I think both sides look great. However...I would probably opt for the twist it up comb because it last longer & I wouldn't have to constantly rrplace it ever few months.👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I'm a barber student and just brought the twist comb. I just wanted to see how its used. TY for posting, it gives me more confidence in my purchase. 🎞👍🏾
I think it depends which look you're going for or prefer like if you want a more voluminous look the sponge, but if you want the most definition then the comb
Both works well. Twist up is newer. I cut hair and I know with a sponge the harder you press down on the hair the more definitive the twist will be. Also the circular motion play a big part in the twist. A smaller motion give a different result than a wider motion
Thank you for this review. I recently chopped my hair and got a short tapered cut with comb coils. This helped a bunch and my stylist suggested the twist it up comb.
Best comparison video of the two. I purchased the Twisted Up Comb; one 2.0 and two 3.0 versions. I love how easy it is, how it allows me to wear my hair twisted up without any harsh chemicals, how it fits easily in my pocket and how it comes it so many cool colors. I get compliments on my hair everyday and the funny thing is people keep asking me if I'm about to loc it up for dreads. Honestly I just really like the cool twisted pattern and I could take it down very easily and then twist it right back up. Extremely low maintenance. Great product! 😎👍
Thank you so much for that great demonstration not a lot of talking but straight to the point love it love it love it and my choice is the twisted up comb it seems more sanitary and I like the curls that it makes!
Twist it up comb most definitely and I will definitely be buying one now. I love my twist sponge but it's kinda unsanitary to me (maybe because of my OCD) and its hard to clean lol but out with the old and in with the beautiful defined curls 😍❤️❤️❤️🌻
The racket gave you sharper coils- which I liked. I think you made a good choice lean bc the racket/comb will last much longer, and more importantly - it's also much more hygienic too.
twist it up gave more defined curl & the sponge gave a nice curl not as tight now the sponge will not last you will have to buy when it wears out & the twist it up looks likw it will last yesrs.
Whats the shortest can your hair be to start. The sponges seems good to get started for real scalp short hair and use the twist comb as it grows, 🤔🤔🤫🤗.
Im confused. For example, yal say to go towards face. So are you going counterclockwise on your right side and clockwise on your left? I thought you should go in one direction throughout?
Is it just me, who think the sponge gave a nicer look, quicker? People are talking about longevity, but that is not the question. What side do you like? Although, I like the sponge side, I am curious of trying the comb, for the ease of use and for the make of it. Period. People be real. I think the video should show before and after, not saying what was used for each side until the very end.
The sponge works better when you're starting with zero twists. Once twisted, the twist racket works better. Using something with beeswax before you start helps the twist hold form - I use Murray's. Once the sponge gets a little wear on it, small pieces will start to break off and deposit in your hair. Using the twist racket, you'll see all those small pieces of sponge come out. That being said, you really don't need the sponge, especially if it's an old one.
is it straight or wavy? if it’s straight, it’s possible that it may be too damaged to curl without some type of rollers like perm rods or flexi rods but these tools only help to define curls that are already there
if you use that or some type of curling cream and either one of these products, it should work. but i’m not sure exactly what your hair looks like so i’m not sure, but like I said these help to define curls you already have, not make it curly. so if gel makes it wavy, it might just define the waves
I feel like the sponge would leave your hair drier because it will absorb the moisture and product. The comb won't do that so the moisture in your hair will last longer.
Exactly
Wet the sponge maybe? 🤔
@@lovely_sadist1237 yea but it will dry still
@@showtimegodee Maybe spray leave in conditioner on it after? 🤷🏾♀️ I don’t know if maybe that will help.
@@iammar1159 I learned so much more since then that was a year ago dang😂
The little tennis racket makes better twists.

The tiny curls before using the tools was super cute too

See you everywhere
Yo you gotta be the GOAT of black RUclips. I see you everywhere on TY @Mz.phatbaldkat
also, i rarely see people look good in the yellow/mustard/neon whichever shade it is😭😭 hair color and you ABSOLUTELY pull it off. love it
I'm a barber student and just brought the twist comb. I just wanted to see how its used. TY for posting, it gives me more confidence in my purchase. 🎞👍🏾
I just love the color of your hair! Pefect for fall! Also, I like the twist comb because of the benefits and the results
I think it depends which look you're going for or prefer like if you want a more voluminous look the sponge, but if you want the most definition then the comb
O ok. I prefer the voluminous look. Thank you!
I prefer the comb cuz sponge leaves batcterteria

@@xx_Mr_IQ_xx can you define? What will smaller circles do vs lager circles?
That’s what I saw. The comb had a more pointy look, whereas the sponge left the curls round.
Thank you for this review. I recently chopped my hair and got a short tapered cut with comb coils. This helped a bunch and my stylist suggested the twist it up comb.
I've never heard of a twist-it-up comb before I'll have to try one out. Thanks so much for sharing.
Yes black owned and he was on shark tank
This tennis racquet is THE BOMB!! 💣 I will NEVER 👎🏽 use the sponge 🧽 again!!
💐I like both twist comb and the curl sponge, but the twist comb makes really the best definition of curls.💐
Best comparison video of the two. I purchased the Twisted Up Comb; one 2.0 and two 3.0 versions. Hey bro I got tht same look u got let’s keep it a secret from dese dudes out here
Thank you for this review. I was thinking about the sponge but I don't want it to mess up my ends. I agree with the various comments about the comb.
Thank you so much for that great demonstration not a lot of talking but straight to the point love it love it love it and my choice is the twisted up comb it seems more sanitary and I like the curls that it makes!
I like how the twist comb puts a part in the curls as well
I like the comb it made your twists tighter but...... the sponge got your edges because its flexible.
I love the coils on the comb!!!
☺️☺️☺️Great tutorial. 🤔🤔🤔I think the sponge does the best job, the other can serve as a back up. 🙂🙂The style looks great on you.👌🏽👌🏽
The comb didn’t really get the sides near the ear..,that would be my issue...but the curls are very defined. Cute.
i was really thrown off by the tennis racket when i was looking for the sponge so i’m glad i found this video that shows both😭😭
The twist comb. It looks more defined.
Never heard of the twist it up comb but just went natural a few weeks ago and got the sponge brush..world good for me.
Twist it up comb most definitely and I will definitely be buying one now. I love my twist sponge but it's kinda unsanitary to me (maybe because of my OCD) and its hard to clean lol but out with the old and in with the beautiful defined curls 😍❤️❤️❤️🌻
Thanks. Your comment has been helpful

I prefer the comb, seems it makes the curls lock better
I like them both really
The twist up comb gives a more define twist to me, thanks for your review 👍🏼 wat color is that in your hair?
Hi lovely lady. Tried the sponge and it didn't do what I needed it to do. Yes it curled but not defined. Gonna get a trim and try it again. 😊
I prefer my sponge😘
I honestly liked your natural curls just after applying the gel.
You are so right. My coil brush collects dust and moisture. I will try the racket brush.
i didn't even know the twist it up comb existed. thanks for this
Both sides look great but the comb is giving sharper results.
The twist it up comb works by FAR better for me!!!
Beautiful color. The twist comb wins.
Hi do you put any product in your hair to hold the style?
I love your hair
It’s hard to decide... your hair ROCKS make me wanna cut mine😍♥️
Good to know! 😊👌🏾thank you so much! ❤
You did great very informative video 🤯
You are just so beautiful that on you it makes no difference at all :-)
But thank you for introducing me to the comb and Merry Christmas@
Video was super helpful! I was going through it 😂
I need to get that twist up comb
Yes the twist comb is so much better!!
Comb baby! I see a difference I’m getting at 🙏🏾
What curly gel are you using?
The comb seems like it turns your hair into coils but can't reach low spots behind the ear. I see the benefits of both tho
twist it up gave more defined curl & the sponge gave a nice curl not as tight now the sponge will not last you will have to buy when it wears out & the twist it up looks likw it will last yesrs.
Since her hair is shorter than mine will the effect be different or should I still use the racket?
Twist up 💪🏾
Whats the shortest can your hair be to start. The sponges seems good to get started for real scalp short hair and use the twist comb as it grows, 🤔🤔🤫🤗.
probably whenever your hair can form a curl
Wow I love the sponge but ngl my sponges does break apart and the curles take like 30 min to get defined so I am going to try the comb.
30 minutes? You're doing it wrong if it takes that long to curl.
i stumbled across this video as im starting my loc journey and I’d just like to say u r beautiful lol
also great video
Thank you for sharing this
I do this with my towel 😅

The twist comb🎉💯

Eco and Taliah Waajid curly curl cream
As I Am Aunt Jackie Cantu and what that guy said Eco Taliah curling gel
Comb side!!
Thank you... the results looks fairly the same... but the comb is more durable than the sponge.
So the comb wins.
