Excellent work.. am an ioniq5 owner too. Getting 480 to 500 km range. Suggest u do such range tests for other evs in our market too
This car has an amazing road presence. Saw a white one on the road and it was outstanding.
There is a option of Auto mode for regenerative braking. I always use it and it's quite intuitive, Ioniq itself decides level of braking based on various factors
I am a IONIQ 5 Owner’s since past 4 months and I get about 520 kms on full charge with AC, Ventilated Seats, Mobile charging ON plus frequent use of Vision Roof. Now a days I am getting 584 kms on full charge since AC usuage has stopped around NCR due to cooler weather. I am surprised how your IONIQ’s giving you roughly 100 kms lesser range. The lowest I have got on full charge is 570 kms indicated on screen after completion of charging.
Whats the price of it sir
due to hill climb the range suffers, besides, Mumbai winter isn't really winter per se, more like autumn in NCR
@@omarsheikh1637 It was on road 47.06L with Delhi Registration since all Road taxes etc. are zero for EV’s in Delhi
@@shresthsonkar9207 I understand that a climb will cause lower range once one drives thru it 0:07 BUT you missed my point. After charging to 100% the range shown on the test drive vehicle by MotorOctane is about 100 kms lesser then my vehicle which always shows about 584 kms minimum upon full charging.

A couple of corrections I feel are necessary
1. 1:54 there are other losses such as air resistance, surface friction and transmission losses. So a car at 30 km/hr in 2nd gear and 100 km/h in 6th gear at same rpm has different fuel consumption. Technically 60-80 is the sweet spot as anything less, surface friction wins and anything more, air resistance wins.
2. 12:53 iPedal driving is dangerous as ioniq 5 doesn’t activate brake lights during rapidly slowing down and will come on only when completely stopped thereby causing a hazard.

I m an ioniq owner. IT actually give that range for me too. But bit confused coz during calculation u said 58 kwh battery but OT is actually 72.6 so what to consider?
Does the car have cruise control? does it work in sync with Regen braking?

It costs 5-6 per km to charge outside. There are no chargers available along the way. You will get fed up of locating chargers and anyone will panic when below 20% charge remaining on an empty highway. Different apps, different maps, different rates for each charging station is ridiculous.

You discussed all the scenarios but you forget to mention that the range decreases if the number of passengers increases.

All facts you told were already known. You didn't tell about hypermilling. One thing I am wondering is how the car manufacturers price their vehicle so that for an average car user the total cost of ownership remains the same? Why can't we have this battery pack in a less premium car eg Venue? And priced less than 20 lakh.
All these cars are meant only for the super rich and definitely not for the middle class people. A car is a car with its value depreciating year after year. By the way from PM to Gadgari ji to all the sundries, it has become a fashion statement to make EV cars are the future but I bet and challenge that in India with this kind of exorbitant price of these vehicles, a miniscule population is going to purchase. 99% of the population will continue to pollute as they have practically no other option. I am an EV advocate but slowly I started to change my views as no car manufacturer wants to target the majority of the middle classes in their moves.
@@Tklshriram71 Exactly. Another point of view is the job losses from manufacturing plants, oil refineries, Petrol Pumps, Repair shop etc. Right now 0 EV Batteries are manufactured in India. A comprehensive view needs to be taken.
Ioniq 5 is a global car ie its sold in developed markets in the west. For their market, this is a rather cheap EV, besides, among hyundai cars itself, its right in the middle of the model hierarchy.
for example Audi has Q3, Q5 Q7, so this is like the Q5, there will be costlier models (like Ioniq 7 3 row SUV which competes with Kia EV9) as well as cheaper models (Ioniq 1,2,3,4)
Just last month itself, Kia revealed the EV5 which is one step below the EV6 in China, and its same segment as XUV700/Safari
They also revealed EV3 concept (seltos) and EV4 concept (sedan) which will be around same price as the ICE models (20L or $25K)
Thats the cheapest global brands offer, otherwise you get localised products which is corporate-speak for cost cutting in safety and tech.
The products from say, hyundai or any manufacturer under 20L is not going to sell in west because they do not meet the basic needs the consumer wants in west. The minimum price for experiencing a global product will be 20L for quite some time to come.
How much this car costs in India in Nepal it cost 65 lakh INR
Why Hyundai India does not launch 2024(77.4kWh battery) model? Version in India of Ioniq is from, 2022 (72.6kWh)
