With the amendment of the Civil Act 1958 (Act No. 17095) and the repeal of article 915 which gave adults the “right to take disciplinary action” against children, Korea has achieved full prohibition of corporal punishment of children. In January 2021 the Korean government reformed the law.

I mean the revenge part did happen to someone else. Sort of. Apparently one guy wanted to get revenge on his bullies in Korea in a school reunion and planned to poison them. his mom apparently did like her mom and let the bullying happen in high school and she was the one who ratted him out to the police before he could go through with his murder attempt.

Don't feel bad about the time skips... the show does that a lot. You'll see a scene, and then it jumps back to show you how the characters ended up in that scene. Sometimes it's a jump of years, or sometimes just days. The story continues to unfold in every episode! You'll get used to it -- and the characters' names and faces -- soon enough. Enjoy!

Okay, i’ll explain the bully group dynamic:
    • Park Yeon Jin (main bully, she’s rich)
    • Jeon Jae Jun (he’s the one having s3x with Yeon Jin, rich),
    • Lee Sa-Ra (she’s the druggy that wanted and is an artist, rich too),
    • Choi Hye-Jong (the flight attendant, she’s a goldigger, she’s not rich so therefore she’s an underdog in the group)
    • Son Myeong-o (the one that sells drugs to Sa-ra and forcefully kissed Dong-Eun, he’s not rich either, he’s Jae Jun’s maid/puppet).
This is why 2 of the 5 bullies are mistreated within in the group.

Sadly, bullying is pretty severe in South Korea and the show isn't too exaggerated :/ There have been many reports of bullying where bullies have burnt their victims with lighters, cigarettes, curling irons etc. and much more. What's worse is that the bullies barely get punished for their actions. The worst punishment they get is having to withdraw from school and/or go to juvenile detention, but most just have to do a few hours of social service or clean the school/write apology letters :///

    • @Hotcheetos777
      @Hotcheetos777 Год назад +19

Sorry to break it to you, but it's not as severe as portrayed in this drama. There ARE severe cases, but most bullying in Korea is not this bad. People seem to believe what's in the media and what other people say that aren't even korean (on youtube/twitter etc). The curling iron case was shocking to koreans too, which is why it was on the news. Tbh I actually think America's worse. I mean, kids be dying in gun shootings.
However, what was really accurate was teachers hitting a student. That was prretty common here when my dad was a student (70-90s). Back then everyone was poor and most parents worked till late, so teachers were basically considered your "second parents". So the actual parents would allow the teachers to hit their own kids as a form of discipline. These days it be students hitting teachers tho :\
What's really bad are the laws in Korea. It's pretty shit, and minors get away with so many things. Same goes for criminals that were under the influence of alcohol (if they're drunk when they killed someone, the years in jail are lessened which is total bullshit). Korea has a long way to go when it comes to law, which I understand, korea hasn't had enough time to catch up socially with their economic growth which happened too rapidly. I mean, Korea literally had nothing not even 60 years ago. During my dad's childhood (70s) bananas and even sausages were considered a luxury so that says a lot ig.

Soo-yoon and Shin-tae are lovers which means Shin-tae is gay. apparently it wouldn’t bode well for him as the director of Semyong Elementary. Bullying on social media is a whole different level. Do you know how many teenagers have committed suicide from cyber bullying alone? It's in the thousands range. And that's just in this country. I've heard it's way worse in South Korea. This show is no exaggeration. The only exaggeration is the revenge part. Bullying in South Korea is a huge problematic currently. It is as bad or worse than what is portrayed in the kdrama. Also the part of the teacher slapping her in the office has actually happened in reality. One south korean reactor was reacting to the kdrama last week and said that that scene happened in her school when she was young. And from what I've heard, the teachers in general don't do much about the bullying, their hands are tied by the parents

It's actually really bad but of course it didn't happen in every school. School who prioritized on their education where genius kids went to, this type of school usually have minimal chance of bullying cases bcs students were to bussy to become the best (i heard this from a video how korean bullying goes) but in normal school, bullying did happen. And the worst chase usually happens with school with lower standard (many th*g kids went to this school, it became a thing that for most students they will try to dodge to come to this school)
for example that happens to idol as victim (not as bad as Dong Eun, but i think it involved lots of illegal thing and gaslight).
This idol named Kim Garam from new group Le sserafim (expelled from the group) was accused of being a bully to girl C.
Le sserafim is fairly big rookies (newcomer in idol industry) and the impact of this chase is really big.
She accused of being a bully, that in middle school she throw a pot to a friend from rooftope of the building, she sm*ke ciggarete, she ride motors, she bully peplle, she hit people and ect.
Turn out the real bully is the C girl. And she comeback for all this years planning to make Garam life miserable. That she would fail in her career and wish her to su*cide bcs of the hate Garam gets.
And yeah, the victim is actually Garam, and all the evidence was point out that she actually was the victim of bully.
So what happens is at middle school Garam and girl C was friends (in close circle) but Garam heard that C was bad mouthing her in so Garam cut her friendship with her.
In their circle, we have this bunch of frineds and Garam, and girl B (the main victim).
Bcs their friendship ends, girl C start to openly hate Garam and her friends, Like to lie to people about garam to everyone. Actually attempt to hurt garam phisically with asking bunch of her male friends to met Garam (teach her lesson).
She hates garam and her friend but mainly he hates garam to the core (garam is really pretty and popular, might be why she start to bad mothing her in her back while they are still friends)
One time she took a video in changing room of girl B n*ked (with only panties on). Mind you they were like 12-13 in here. Girl C then post the video on internet (clearly it is child porn at this point), the video spread everywhere and people bully girl B saying all sort of nasty things how they like to taste her.. all bad thing you could imagine. People in the whole school know this and even kids from other school. In real life too, they bully girl B bcs of that video. Girl C has no remorse of guilt since she spill how girl B is a bitc* and s*ut and ect.
Girl B didn't go to school and actually want to suic*de and attempt to k*ll her self couple times. Garam and her friends enraged for the first time they saw the video and defending girl B with all her might.
While girl B convined herself at home, Garam and her friends met girl C to confront her about this. And they start to swear to each other, in the end girl C finally said that she regret and that she was sorry (she is not) she said she would go apologize to girl B and end it well.
She did not, instead she report that incedent to the school comitee that garam and friends bullied her (it was 3 student againts one, so it might look like bullying) but there were no physical fights and only swear to each other.
(Garam dream is to become idol or actrees so her medling in this situation is actually really bad for her reputation in the fiture, even if she didn't have anything to do with the bully. But to be involved is actually scary for celebrity. But she decided that she won't just sit still while her friend try to k*ill herself bcs of this incident)
The school proceed this chase and it turn out that Girl C is actually the main culprit so they decided to expelled her from the school (her report won't be clean), but garam and her friends too get punishment since they were againts one girl. And that is to reflect on their act (they get punishment level 5 which is really common given to students). In korea they have this grades of punishment, the level isn't determined how bad the punishment is. The worst is to be expelled and level 5 is a common punishment for student to reflect on their self and seek for psichyatric for their mental health. Student C dodge the punishment by exchange school willingly (so the report came out clean). Girl B is fine with this as long she would never met girl C.
    Ok chase closed. But no.
Girl C hated garam so much that she began to plan garam downfall since kiddle school. She knew that garam wants to become celebrity so she start to make rumors about her. In her new school, she start to act as victim that she change school bcs she was bullied. That garam like to have s*x and drink, that she hit and bully people. The rumor was so bad that few school outside Girl C went to actually know about this rumors and join in the witch hunt.
A year later Garam actually move to girl C school bcs she become trainee (she didn't know girl C went there). In the new school people already bully her (you can see it in her desk. There were lots of cursed words directed to garam) there are picture of how friends making fun of her and garam cover her face in her desk with lots of curse words (so we know that the desk is real, that she did get bullied). They like to exclude her on school project and bad mouthing garam on their group chat.
They like to openly body shamed her and say nasty stuff on facebook where there are videos of garam doing dance cover. Saying she is disabled bitc* on internet and group chat (garam has a condition where one of her hand doesn't look normal- not perfect) They would bully her on every post related to garam.
One of the text girl c and other people send to garam and group chat "you'll never forget about me, bcs i'll chase you to the end of the world, you bitc*".
That is how garam live in hell strat from middle school and until now.
Two and half years later garam debut in 2022 with le sserafim in the company where BTS belongs, so you know they'll become huge.
Girl C is actually from rich family that's why she gets away with her bullying (how she move school easely without bad raport). She hire people to soread how garam is a bully, how she is the victim even months before garam debuted.
The company notice this and went the instigation. They found out that garam is innocent and decided that she'll still be in the group. The hate directed at her is really bad months before debut, but it become really huge when they actually debut.
The girl C side gave evidence of garam raport (that she received level 5 punishment) and forge pictures and videos of garam (they are not garam and doesn't actually look like her, but all pictures shot from afar and covering half their faces with bunch of people surrounding the look alike. so poeple have dificulty to notice her.
    Continue-

    • @fie97
      @fie97 Год назад +5

The pictures was like garam look like making a hand sign with pen*s goes into vag*na with bunch of friends, other her lookalike point out the white board saying 'i want to have se* so bad*' , on garam actual picture, they crop her skirt so it will look alot shorter than it actually is (you can actually see how bad edited the picture is) and bunch of nonsense thatt if you see and think, it actually funny of how stupid and not convincing the evidence is.
But still, poeple jump on the hate train saying how she should k*ll herself, that she has to be expelled from the group, that she deserves to die.
It was so bad that in international kpop fan, it was such a huge deal and they bullied her. Also, even non kpop listener in korea knew about this chase. Garam still able to work as idol for two weeks after debut, but bcs the hate was really bad she went hiatus (that she needs time to rest from this incidents, she was expelled a month later).
Before she went hiatus, the company try to deflect the ccusation and said she wasn't a bully. They show how the story went from garam side and that bcs of her instigation, they decided to defend her and still put her on the group.
I was not a fan of her but seeing how people hate her so much making me curious about the situation. And from what insee at that time, Garam is the real victim.
Gurl C challenge garam to take things to the court to prove that they are right (their main goal is for garam to be expelled and they didn't know taht the company would defend garam that much-company usually cut their artist when bullying scandal happens, it happens to lots of idol who get accuse even if later they proven wrong). The company accept it, and when to the court. In here we can see how girl C side react, they said that they like to talk nicely and did not do further instigation. (See how the beginning they said that they won't back down for everything that happens, but why are they scared?)
Even if odd things happen how it proves that garam innocent, the hate was already too big. People seems jst jump into the hate train without looking it properly from both sides. And company finally decided to expelled her to save the group.
It revealed that the company did not proceed the chase to the court any longer, but garam family still taking it to the court for garam innocent. Months later we see the picture wchich i said before (he sitting on her scribble desk). And people finally notice the odd things in girl C evidences. When the hatred towards her is calmed, they finally see that from all evidnces garam provide it actually sounds logical to them unlike girl C evidences. That scribble desk picture finally convinced people that garam is innocent (general public view of her is change but damaged has been down).
People worry that she would commit sui*ide but garam write letters and posted on Instagram with her friend's account. Saying about her situation at that time.
How she knows that she should not meddle to not ruin her dream, but she just can't sit still when her friend is suffering. She has been thaught to defend people who receives injustice so that what she did.
But she did regret on how she immaturely act on that situation (she isn't regretting for defending her friend, but regrets that she should be more mature and not confront girl C with her friends (so it wont escalated to bullying cases)- since this evidence is the strong reason of how she was seen as bully). she was grateful for her time being an idol, even if only last to 2 weeks. Her dream came true. She will move on her life and said that she still take the chase to teh court. She thanks her fans and says goodbye.
Seeing her chase is actually phisically not bad. There is no physical damage garam received. But it ruins her dream and her life. She was still in highschool now and imagine how her school life would look like. (Yes she actually is a minor, and people still saying nasty stuff on internet until now)
Now tell me how i coudn't be on her side after all of this. That girl is so pitiful and everytime i saw and watch bullying drama and cases. I just pray that Garam would be so strong and not to give up on her life.

You guys should react to The Crow (1994) starring Brandon Lee, he is Bruce Lee son.
Brandon Lee tragically got shot on the set of the movie due to a prop gun with a piece of left over blank bullet residue, the crew thought Brandon was playing joke when scene was over and when he was laying on the floor he wasn’t moving but when they got closer they saw it was serious and rushed Brandon Lee to the hospital, the doctors did everything they could but it was too late Brandon Lee passed away at the age of 28.
Some scenes aren’t Brandon it’s his body double Chad Stahelski, Chad is the director of the John Wick franchise. The director of The Crow Alex Proyas had too cut and add new scenes for the movie because of happened to Brandon. They also CGI Brandon Lee face on too Chad face and the makeup artist made a face mask of Brandon face for chad to wear. All scenes were they don’t show Brandon Lee face it’s Chad
Brandon was supposed get married to his fiancée Eliza Hutton after The Crow finished filming.
After Brandon was supposed to get married Brandon was going to a sign a two-year deal to continue The Crow storyline. The Crow is comic book/graphic novel created by James O'Barr.
Before entering the Marines, O'Barr's fiancée Beverly had been killed by a drunk driver.
While living in Berlin in 1981, O'Barr began work on his comic The Crow as a means of dealing with his personal tragedy.
O'Barr was further inspired by a Detroit newspaper account of the murder of a young couple over a $20 engagement ring.
In The Crow, the protagonist, Eric and his fiancée Shelly are murdered by a gang of criminals. Eric then returns from the dead guided by a supernatural crow, to hunt their killers.
After his discharge from the Marines O'Barr continued his painting and illustration as well as doing various odd jobs.
The Crow sat on a shelf for seven years but at last he found a publisher with Gary Reed of Caliber Press.
The first miniseries was published in 1989. The Crow has since sold more than 750,000 copies worldwide.
This movie has the best soundtrack of all time according to Rolling Stones magazine, Revolver Magazine etc. and the movie score is amazing as well.

At their core bullying and torture are the same things. It just seems different when you add in motivation, perpetrator/victim, and the method. We can't fathom that what's supposed to be the innocent of our society having the mind to torture someone. Bullying isn't an innocent act between friends like talking smack or poking fun because the roles are defined and there is no "turn about is fair play".

Sorry to tell you Bryce but bullying is even worst there . During my psychology course in med school the Pr used few victims from Bullying cases in SK as examples of PTSD and we were shocked. Now that subject interests me alot so I read alot about it . If you dive deep you'll be horrified.
PS: there's a law that protects minors in SK . They can pretty much get away with anything. Also the ones from rich families settle everything with money.

I was so surprised to find out from some SK reactors that crimes in general committed by minors under like 13-15 basically they have to let them go with nothing. Even if they’re not from a powerful family. There were actual kakaotalk messages between some minor perpetrators in a burglary case that said “if I get caught, I’ll just cry in court and pretend to be sorry and they’ll let me off” it’s sad and disgusting

Its a real thing...in Korea social status and class is a big big thing and if you got money people actually worship you and if you are poor they will treat you like an animal. If you think this is worse then you better watch more Korean teen film...bullying is like a culture to them and the worst bullying came from girls schools. Yes the teacher are usually will sweep stuff under the carpet because they don't want to tarnish their school reputation.
