On my stock 2011 3500 4x4 Ram, I left the tire on and removed the top nut on the shock, then jacked the frame until the tire just cleared the ground then removed the tower. The suspension sag removed the need to compress the new shock during re-installation of the tower. It was an easy one man job with Rancho 9000xl's anyway.

Stick more around the tow rig platform. Keep it simple,clean and humble.no lift and no mud tires

Should've just put the tower back on and guided the shaft into the hole....or had the the shaft in the hole and tower tightened down, then snip the retainer and guided the bottom into place and slid the bolt in...not sure exactly what you were thinking
