Great video, very detailed! I just finished my leveling kit on my 2018 ram 2500, followed his instructions and it went smoother than I had anticipated!
Ditch the spacers and get a set of Thuren coils, or Carli coils. Also utilizing the jack on the pumpkin and axle is the correct way to lift the front. Dropping the passenger side track bar bolt gives you more droop.
James Miller maybe one day when I make a bit more money, I have no complaints about these spacers thus far. Yes, there is more than one way to lift the truck up to gain enough clearance 🤙🏻
James Miller are you saying instead of using this level kit the Carli / Thuren coils alone will do the same? Nothing else needed besides the coils alone?????
@@DirectCurrent4u not just coils. Supposed to use a adjustable track bar, longer sway bar end links and longer shocks to do it right. The best spacer is a daystar because it’s made from polyurethane and not metal.
Yah I just recently bought an 08 Ram 3500 Bighorn, gonna get a 4 inch lift under that. Thanks for shooting this video here, very in depth. Looking forward to getting to put that lift under mine, making room for 37s
Thanks for taking the time to do the video it was great helped me a lot I haven’t tackled yet but you have definitely laid it all out to make things much easier cheers
Great video amigo! Nice boxer too, miss mine tremendously! I wish my '12 Ram 2500 was that easy to change out shocks! Just a suggestion, esp in the northern states or southern states due to rust, use some anti seize on your bolts. I have used several Rancho products on my Ram, esp the level coil/shock kit and it is horrible. When you replace your shocks, I highly suggest getting Fox 2.0 shocks. If you go with a coil at anytime, use a Thuren or Carli. I have wasted time, money and frustration using cheaper brands due to impatience. This Rancho coil is going out and the Fox's made a HUGE improvement over the Ranchos. Lesson learned!
Only downside to the thuren is they’re a softer spring rate, if your mounting a plow that will ruin your capacity. Spacer retains your oem capacity and gives your clearance for your plow mount
My install went very well. I took my time and double checked everything. Took me about 3.5 hours. Looks great too. My tip? I used two 3.5 ton hydraulic jacks...made it easy.
Great vid thanks, I have a 2016 Ram 2500, a friend did a 2" lift and it didn't lift it that much, I have a 2.5" but was thinking of going 3", I just need to know which height will level my truck, yours look nice and level, what was your measurements front and back before level kit, thanks appreciate you
Great video thank you! I want to do the same to my truck. Just ordered the same 2.5 leveling kit, but I went with Bilstein 2.5 level kits shocks. Thanks for the tutorial bro!
Great Instructional video. The step by step details are what I was looking for before I install a Rough County 2.5 leveling kit with Bilstein 5100 shocks on my 2014 Ram 3500 Dually. Did you measure the ride height difference from the back to the front before and after the install? My rear sits 4.75" higher than the front when measured at the center of the wheel wells.
Hey man was wondering if the shocks helped soften the ride. I put the exact same lift on my truck. Looks great but I kept the same shocks. It rides pretty rough though. Thinking of upgrading the shocks. Wondering if it will make a difference
Good video, nice truck. I'm about to install a leveling kit. Not sure what tire size I want to go with. What tire size are you running now after the level install?
Very informational. Might I suggest investing into a cordless impact if you do a lot of your own work. I used hand tools for years and after I bought one I want to slap myself for not getting one a long time ago. Make quick easy work of just about everything
guil Mondragon yes! The main thing is they won’t “bottom-out” while hitting bumps, etc because they are longer than the OEM. You can use the extensions that come with the kit, but it doesn’t change the overall length of the shock. Whatever you choose, I’d at least pick longer “leveling-shocks”.
Did you have to drill anything? I’m looking to get the exact same brand kit for my 14 ram 2500 as you did. It says you need to drill the the factory coil seat but I didn’t see this in your video. Also do I have to get an alignment after? How did it ride without an alignment?
Honestly, I cannot say I feel much of a difference. It didn't get any worst, which is a good thing, but if you're looking to improve ride then coils are the way to go.
Like your video. You seem like a pretty savvy guy. Little knowledge for you. WD40 sucks ass. It’s a water displacement not a lubricant in any way. Don’t take this wrong. Your video helped me in a few places. I didn’t make your mistakes because you showed me how not to. I wanted to share something with you for that reason.
Great video! Can you send me the name and page where you get your shocks and the leveling kit I'll always wanted a kit for a truck with the shock outside of the coil. Thanks in advance!!
Earlier you pointed out the passenger side isolater button hole on the spacer, but it appears you still used the one that says D on both sides.... Do we know what changes this will do depending on which hole is used? I did the same thing on my install and need to change the passenger side...
Ehren Leleski this is true. It’ll pull the axle back and towards then passenger side, but it’s only noticeable if you stare at it long enough! The higher you lift or level the front end, the more drastic the pull. For a small 2” level, I don’t think it’s necessary, but if you’re going beyond then yes I would install a longer or adjustable track bar. Carli and Thuren make nice adjustable bars 👍🏼
"Better safe than sorry" proceeds to use a 3 ton jack, 3 ton jackstands on bricks on what appears to be a sloped driveway. Do it right. Save your money, get longer springs and longer shocks.
I agree with some other comments, you could have saved yourself allot of time by using spring compressor or even as I have done was use chain vice grips. put as much weight as you can on spring and place 2 chain vice grips
Great video, very detailed! I just finished my leveling kit on my 2018 ram 2500, followed his instructions and it went smoother than I had anticipated!
Just bought a ‘22 power wagon and one of the first things I want is to level it. You made it look easy, thanks for posting!
I noticed the same issue with this particular kit I'm grateful you were able to give me some validation that I'm not crazy. Great video. Thank you

@@kapokidkidkapo719 That is Correct. Just use a taller coil spring. I really like the Carli Coils myself. There both really good. Hope this helps.

This is a way better video than a lot of other ones I've seen on installing leveling kits. Great video!!

Get the longer coils. The 2500 rides like a tow truck and the longer coils help
a lot. Get the alignment after you get the new meats. Just saying.
I agree, one day ill definitely throw on some thuren or carli's.
Only downside to the thuren is they’re a softer spring rate, if your mounting a plow that will ruin your capacity. Spacer retains your oem capacity and gives your clearance for your plow mount
Thank you for that video. I had just purchased a level kit for my Ram 2500. Your video explained everything nicely
How many inches is your lift, by the way, it looks fantastic
Getting ready to install a leveling kit on my 2015 3500 Dually. Great video with good advice. Thanks.
My install went very well. I took my time and double checked everything. Took me about 3.5 hours. Looks great too. My tip? I used two 3.5 ton hydraulic jacks...made it easy.

How they run whit bilsten shock.do you like it?
Shout out from Belton MO. Doing my 2500 leveling this weekend
Right on brother! Get er done!

Good job. I can't stand that front dip. I too, had to raise my hot rod AKA power wagon?
Why didn’t you use spring compressors? that might have saved you a ton of time.
I enjoy the grind!
going to install mine tomorrow. thanks for the video
You didn't have to drill a hole for second top bolt?
Man if that was me installing those shocks at 15:41 you would have seen more crack then you would have known what to do with.
Im just going to go Thuren springs. They are $350 then put 5100 Bilstein shocks.
Hey man was wondering if the shocks helped soften the ride. I put the exact same lift on my truck. Looks great but I kept the same shocks. It rides pretty rough though. Thinking of upgrading the shocks. Wondering if it will make a difference

Great video. Not installing the passenger isolator to “P” affect anything? Thanks
None, and honestly, the ride quality is more than acceptable. Just remember, its a 2500 truck and not a luxury car. Best of luck on your install!
Good to hear. Thanks for the quick reply.
Very informational. Might I suggest investing into a cordless impact if you do a lot of your own work. I used hand tools for years and after I bought one I want to slap myself for not getting one a long time ago. Make quick easy work of just about everything
Great Video. Going to try and install mine tomorrow. Thanks
Loved the video I'm ordering a kit for my 2018 2500.
Did you notice much difference in the ride with the new shocks over stock shocks?
Do you feel any difference with those shocks ?What is your review with the Rancho shocks ?
thx for video
guil Mondragon yes! The main thing is they won’t “bottom-out” while hitting bumps, etc because they are longer than the OEM. You can use the extensions that come with the kit, but it doesn’t change the overall length of the shock. Whatever you choose, I’d at least pick longer “leveling-shocks”.
You should do a video on how exactly you got it on jack stands
Lol
there should be 2 bolts per side, after installing the first bolt you are supposed to drill the second.
Did you have to drill anything? I’m looking to get the exact same brand kit for my 14 ram 2500 as you did. It says you need to drill the the factory coil seat but I didn’t see this in your video. Also do I have to get an alignment after? How did it ride without an alignment?
lol the dog is making a lemon. water for u.
Nice video brother.. I'm going to level my 2018 ram 2500 also... do you live in California so I can take it to you for some help. ...
I also put a 2.5" Southern truck Leveling kit in my 22 ram 2500 now the front's higher than the back is this normal
Did you get the truck realigned after this video ? Or did tires wear evenly
Very helpful! Thank you 🙏 👍
Did it affect your ride ???. Any stiffer ???
Honestly, I cannot say I feel much of a difference. It didn't get any worst, which is a good thing, but if you're looking to improve ride then coils are the way to go.
Did you have a hard time aliment after in stall ?

Hows the ride quality, soft or hard like the stock. My 18 ram 2500 stock ride smooth, but changing to leveling kit. Will it change ride quality.
When you mounted the spacer, was it only the one bolt?
The kit I have says to drill a hole for a second bolt to go up top
Nice video. Love your dog. Very cool!
Jim Sjostrom appreciate it! He loves you too.
Great video! Can you send me the name and page where you get your shocks and the leveling kit I'll always wanted a kit for a truck with the shock outside of the coil. Thanks in advance!!
Is it fine to use the old shocks
Great video
tommy carriger appreciate the support!
Did the level put anything on a bind
Now for some bigger tires.
Awesome video!
Now that you've had it installed for some time, did you notice any difference in fuel economy?
none!
I put mine in and the springs are bowed out like no other. How do I fix this?
Did your kit come with the shock extensions?
What about an alignment ?
I have a 99 dodge ram 15000 thinking about leveling. 2 and half inch. How long it. Take. What parts i need to do it right
Looks good bro
have you had any issues with the level kit. i am thinking of doing my truck this weekend
None! If I had to make any changes, I may have went with Bilstein shocks. Other than that, no complaints!
On your link that takes you to the shock, do you need to add it to cart twice or are the shocks sold as a set?
And do you know if both the shock and the leveling kits will fit a 2018?
You’ll need 2! Unfortunately they don’t come in a set. I’ll get back to you on that!
Moparvelous Or Bust no worries I found a bilstein suspension leveling kit on that website!! Thank you 🙏
Earlier you pointed out the passenger side isolater button hole on the spacer, but it appears you still used the one that says D on both sides.... Do we know what changes this will do depending on which hole is used? I did the same thing on my install and need to change the passenger side...
I used D on both sides like most people commenting did
Next time try a quick clamp to hold it
2018 dodge ram 2500. 2.5 inch Are your coils bowed after the install? I have a pretty good bow in mine. ( ---- )
How do I fix this?
I know what you mean, installed mine yesterday and noticed a small bow towards the lower part of the shock. It had me guessing
Are we gonna ignore the bent breaker bar in the garage?
_OHMZ_ Electrical that was me trying to remove the CV on my 07 💪🏼
is the axle still centered after this installation. someone mentioned having to get a longer track bar
Ehren Leleski this is true. It’ll pull the axle back and towards then passenger side, but it’s only noticeable if you stare at it long enough! Can you sell me the shock extension's? I can't find anywhere to buy them.
Will this work on a 2wd Version?
nice video!!
What size levelling kit did you install?
2.5"!
How many inches is you leveling kit?
Its a 2.5 inch level by Southern Truck!
"Better safe than sorry" proceeds to use a 3 ton jack, 3 ton jackstands on bricks on what appears to be a sloped driveway.
Do it right. Save your money, get longer springs and longer shocks.
I don’t understand why anyone would cut such drastic corners by installing a spacer kit. Scary
Just never understand why people use those total cheap spacer in a newer truck. COBBLE JOB
Should have went with a Carli leveling kit instead of this trash 🗑
gone with carli, which changes the gvwr... yeah do that on a 2500... those things sagged more then my grandmas tits with my plow on. trash.
