Summer of 1974 - just graduated from High School (please, don't do the math...). Two hippy-esque good friends from Missouri hacked a Ford Maverick stereo to listen to our favorite tunes (on cassette tape, of course!) with dual headphones, and drove out to Colorado for some Rocky Mountain high times. From suggestions we stopped at a local travel shop in Colorado Springs to help us with a travel plan for our stay - our plan was just to get to Colorado and drink Coors beer and camp. Coors was a thing then. One of the recommendations was the Great Sand Dunes National Monument. Absolutely awesome. Locally migrating sand dunes in the middle of mountains! A must-see, even if you've experienced other dunes. It's quite unique.
Well, Allison & Eric, you made it! What a great honor to help Germany get their tourist travel off the ground after COVID. Now all I've got to do is convince my, caregiver, son to take his last vacation to Colorado. It would be such a treat and honor to meet you both and see Ole Gal. If that's not possible I know it will be so much fun watching you have fun. It's amazing how much travel you can cram into such a short time.
How amazing would it be if the Gutted competition would be Endless Adventure building an RV, Flying the Nest building a van, and Kinging It building a school bus!!

You guys are way too modest. I have been watching the RV restoration video series since day one. I think your work has been exemplary. I have been a hobbyist carpenter for 40 years and wouldn't have thought of some of the cool stuff you have. I like that you don't let the frustration cause you to skimp on the quality of work. I do not typically get excited for youtubers when they talk about trip or event they are planning to do, but hearing you are planning to head to Germany soon and road trip across the country has me already wanting to see the vlogs. Oh that sounds exciting!! When in Germany, I hope you get to see Castle Neuschwanstein. It's a real fairy tale castle! Also, nearby is a large suspension bridge with a waterfall running deep below it, and a beautiful view of the castle :)
I live just outside of New Orleans. Seeing the city around Halloween is really something. Especially the Kewe da Boo parade. (I’ve also worked in the Quarter for the past 7 years. October is my favorite month in New Orleans.)

Hello from Minnesota! How exciting about your upcoming travel plans and the "Gutted" event! My brother lives in CO so trying to see if he'll go check out this event. You should travel to Washington Island in Door County WI! You'll have to take the camper on the ferry across "Dealths Door" & stay at Washington Island campground! My husband and I go every summer. It's a beautiful unique experience right in Northern WI, a hidden little gem.
You need to go to the Henry Ford Museum in Deerborn Michigan. And take the F 150 your at the Ford plant. You will absolutely love it. Then take in a few other Detroit attractions.
After Colorado, go through New Mexico and West Texas. Head to Big Bend National Park and the state park next to it. Fall is a great time to visit these areas, not too hot, not too cold.
Looking forward to seeing your Germany trip. My husband and I lived there for 4 years. Planning on big trip next summer to show our son where he was born.

I’m going to try and bring my rig to gutted, it would the longest damn trip I’ve ever made in it, which scares me. But I’m thinking of overhauling it to get it ready and then drive it 1800 miles to Colorado. Sounds like a lot of fun you all are going to be having out there, I wish I could compete, but I bet they already have selected all of their competitors. I will be rooting your y’all’s team! And hopefully maybe you will see me and my old coachmen out there (if I can get it ready in time, still got a lot to do).
