Thanks for the concise video. It’s been decades since I replaced a donut gasket and just wanted to see what I was getting into on my friends 2001 Expedition. It took my 4 tries with other videos that either tried to hard to be “entertaining” or were so off topic most of the video, I could not get through any of them to even get a brief overview.
Thanks first time I learned about it even having gaskets. I'm replacing the flange gasket on my 05 f150 4.6 xl . I didn't know which way it goes because the stock cats didn't have any to begin with. Thanks a bunch
Great vid! All I've been able to find is complete manifold swaps but I think the little donut seal is my real issue. Just wanted to know how much wiggle room I'd have or if I needed to keep going down the pipe unbolting everything. Would you or anyone recommend any type of paste or gasket material to help seal up and prevent failures?
I try to buy most my parts from RockAuto if I have time to wait for them in the mail. Otherwise, I go to a local auto parts store or even Amazon if needed. Thanks for watching!
MAP gas torch. Get the torch with the hose so you can maneuver it better. Heat the nut until it glows red, it'll take a couple minutes then quickly get your impact or a breaker bar on there. Use a 6 sided impact rated deep socket so you don't strip the threads. It'll come off once you get it glowing a dull red with the torch.

I'm glad you found it helpful! Good luck with your projects!
I understand exactly what you are saying.
Cheers!
Thank you so much for putting videos like this up, saved me from putting a lot of coins in the swear jar!
Thanks for the kind reply. So glad this was helpful!
Ratchet strap is a great idea that I never thought to do even once lol
Thank you! Good luck with your projects!
Is the driver side (thinner one) directional?
Well done.
Best wishes to you.
I am replacing a flange gasket on a Nissan. It has the spring bolts.
Thanks! Just the video I was looking for!
The moment the first exhaust bolts came out. I by muscle memory said FK you.... And I apologize. I'm from the salt belt. 🤣 Thanks for the help
Great video helps a lot
Is this on a 2015-2019 gmc Sierra 2500hd 6.0? @TheDadBodWorkshop
Good and straight forward
Thank you!
Did you take the front wheels off for more access?
I did not. I had plenty of access all from the underneath

I have a 1994 Chevy Silverado and wanted to know will I need 2 different gaskets to change both like in the video or will 1 size fit both sides?
I believe you will also need two different sizes. Thanks for watching!
Sure you probably changed it by now but they are the same. I have 88.
Thanks for this information.
Nicely done

Where do I buy these, just any part store?
I try to buy most my parts from RockAuto if I have time to wait for them in the mail. Otherwise, I go to a local auto parts store or even Amazon if needed. Thanks for watching!
Great video. thanks a bunch.
What are the sizes?
0:08 Before
5:30 After
If it leaks after a new gasket, what could be the issue ?
It's likely leaking at the manifold then. Either that or you have a small hole somewhere in the piping. Thanks for watching!
Take a shopvak and blow air in to your tail pipe and spray soapy water on your exhaust
@@ryanrobbins1469 That's a great suggestions. I may try this in the future, thanks!
Did you smell exhaust fumes wen heat on or car running
Doing this exact same job right now and used the exact same pick to get the ring out 😂😂
Then you and I are both value shoppers! Thanks for supporting the channel!
Thank you
Thanks for the video
Good vid bro.
Neversieze the threads
Mine don't come off I tried 3 different guns😭
I had to tiger saw off a few of my bolts...
If you have a torch, that might help to break them loose.
