Unfortunately I can't read for fun right now as I have an exam coming up. But this got me in such a good mood to read the script. I also noticed with dread that I haven't been to a mortar and brick bookstore in way too long. I get a lot of my books through online sellers, usually used though. No es bueno. Bookstores are wonderful, little gardens where books live.
I love the calm energy your videos give. Seoul Can be such a hectic city, but I also found it very calm in a weird way. I love how you’re able to do that in your videos and have that tranquil “aesthetic” vibe and the weird side with the tractor randomly appearing 💖
I almost screamed when you showed that Bunnicula book! I totally forgot I read those books and I loved them as a kid. Also magic tree house, I was obssessed with reading every one
cari: new video is up n- me: *already throwing my phone away and grabbing my laptop to watch it* can i just say how much i adore you, hi please? your videos give me the coziest of feelings!! i was also wondering, in the fuuuuuture could you maybe do some little tips on how to survive seoul in the spring? as i'll be travelling in the spring next year!! (unless you have already done this and i'm just blind lol) anyways, i literally adore you, keep doin your thang!!!!
I just noticed, oh well, we all know you're already beautiful but you are really getting more beautiful every day 🧡 Imagine pretty face in pretty places? Perfect~
Oh, wish I could have seen this sooner because I just got back from Seoul! Was just too busy enjoying every moment of it to watch youtube haha. But I'll be back for sure and visit all those awesome shops ^^
When you like the video even before starting to watch it... that's how much trust I have in Cari's videos. As expected I loved the video so I would like it twice if I could :)
Love the book content, all the book stores look so aesthetic and cozy! If you ever plan on making more book related videos, I would love to know more about libraries in South Korea. As a librarian I'm always so fascinated about other countries' libraries.
Omg why didn't I know that bookstore in Common ground! I used to live right next to children's grand park station. I always discover things late xD Great vlog, next time I'll go to Korea I have a bucket list of bookstores to go through! (I really only knew couple before like Starfield, Kyobo and the one store near Gwanghwamun Kyobo which name I always forget).
Beautiful video as always xx So lovely to see so many independent bookstores. This has made me realise I live in London, there are probably loads here as well I just never go out to find them! Will make this this weekend's mission. How big is Seoul? London is massive and takes ages to get across haha
Books, books, books, I'm so happy!!!! I love book stores. I get lost in book stores. Thank you for a great video. Stay happy, healthy, and safe. Blessed be
Books!! ❤️ My town recently opened a new, beautiful library, and after I explored it for the first time, I wanted to just live there forever among the books. This vlog is giving me those same feelings! Also, on a nonbook-related note, I absolutely loved that color of lipstick on you in the first half of the vlog. It looked beautiful!
Yes Ofr started in France! The one in Paris is also very good! It’s manly Art/design/ photography books but their also doing some exhibitions and selling vintage clothing :) I have this “Apartamento” issue it’s so good!
Ohhh historybooks looks like the bookstore that they filmed a scene from the kdrama when the camellia blooms in!! Also all the bookstores look so cozy ahhhh
Great video! Inspiration for me to do the same here in Beijing. Ofr was one of my favorite librairies (en français) in Paris. Great to know that they're in Seoul now too!
I was expecting this to be a lovely, visually aesthetic vid and then I saw the Bunnicula collection ( a childhood fave) and Monet, so now I'm deep in a google search book dive. Thank you. Also, you find the best places to visit. Keep it up :)
Gah I’m late bc of work but yesss this vlog was a great way to end my night 🥰 And you have so much self control Cari there’s no way I’d be able to go to that first bookstore and not buy anything, I’m so bad at that haha no matter how much I tell myself I already have so many TBR books on my self I always end up buying a new book 😭 Also another side note I really love that beret the color is so pretty!
i've been waiting (mostly) patiently for this baby!!! i've always only gone to Aladdin stores but now i'm :') gonna :') have :') options :') ps this has inspired me to raise my book challenge on goodreads so tysm
That book search booth in one of the first bookstores was the cutest thing I've ever seen!!! Also, I've been interested in reading Lonesome You by Park Wan-Suh for a looong time, so happy to see that you bought it. What about libraries in Seoul? Are there a lot of public libraries or mainly like campus libiaries?
Hey Cari! I just quickly wanted to thank you for all the effort you put in your videos. They always put me in a good mood and bring a refreshing few minutes of calmness to my college life. Also, I was wondering what your favorite MCR song is. Lot’s of love and support from Germany! 😊
i love your videos so much! i really am thinking of throwing everything i have outta window and move to seoul and your videos make me wanna do it even more hahaha 💜🥰
Cari, have you ever tried one of Hyundai libraries? Each library has specific themes like travel, music etc. I think there are four in Seoul. I only went to two of them, and they had great collection of books (including english ones) and the places were so beautiful. The library itself is free, but you can only get in if you own hyundai card. If you don't own the card, ask arround if someone has hyundai card, bc members can take a friend to the libraries. I also heard that there's an app that you can use to get in to the libraries, but not sure. Btw great video! I decided i would go on bookstore tour today, your video made me want to read(and buy books) haha
@@caricakes most of what was on my list when i went to seoul last october came from your vlogs! i didnt manage to get to visit all of them but hopefully this coming march i will be able to :)
Wow! Those bookstores are really beautiful!!! Omg! I love how you show other sides of the city that are so pretty. Who would've thought of seeing bookstores when visiting another country? Well, that's me now thanks to you hahaha. Have a nice week Cari! Loved your vlog as always 💜💜
The fact that there are so many cute bookshops in Seoul but South Korea has one of the lowest percentage of readers is so interesting. I think that this is due to the fact that koreans work like crazy so they have no free time (i'm just guessing, I know this culture so little). I really enjoyed this vlog, thank you!!
This is such a wonderful video but also very dangerous as my wallet will definitely get drained at bookstores. Great video for me as I get off my flight and wait around to get picked up.
wonderful video Cari - I might go check out one of these today :) One non-bookstore question - what lipstick are you wearing in the first section of the video??
thank you! and i honestly dont know hahhaah i typically only wear burts bees tinted lip balms so it might be one of those! i like the colors fig and zinnia :)
Your makeup & hat are so pretty in this video!! What is your lipstick called? Also, the bookstores there are so cool! I can't wait to see them one day. :)
You should check out the HUMONGOUS bookstore in the shopping mall attached to the Grand Intercontinental. It’s like something out of a Star Wars movie. BTW do some videos of you speaking Korean.
Hi cari! Thanks for the great recommendations, I'll definitely check them out when I'm in seoul this month. I have a question thou, as is the tap water save to drink?
okay so short story idk if anyone is going to read it but i need to express this somewher hehe so i ve never visited korea but is super weird because everything, every place is super familiar to me. like if in my past life i lived idk. But seeing this libraries i felt super odd, good kinda odd. This video took me to the happiest place ever.
Booklovers unite!!📖😍 I love this video and it makes me miss Seoul again, cause I‘ve also been to a few of these places ㅠㅠ They are all so aesthetically pleasing :) Btw: what is your current read?

holy smokes bookstores in seoul are PRE-TTY!!!!!!!! thank you so much for sharing, my bookworm heart is content 💕
Great tour! The only notable omission, for me, was Post Poetics, which is rather similar to Book Society.
i love how ive been to all of these lol GREAT vid as always cari
The first one is one of the filming location of hotel del luna. 😁
ohhhh!! how cool!
My next trip to Seoul is going to be so much more expensive 😢😁

I think a scene in When the Camelia Blooms was filmed in history books 👌👌 so cutee!!
I think so too!!
