What is purpose of this cannister actually?is it ok to remove it?

Emissions. Yes, it's ok to remove, which does not affect performance or give more power. It does prevent a reduction in failure on the unit. If the unit is removed, it won't fail. Check your state laws, removing Emission components is strictly for off-road or performance vehicles. Hope that helps 🙏
