Very nice. A few companies do a PSK knife and I like them alot but do think like the smaller PSK they are often more like a 3 finger knife. That being just a little bigger is awesome and full hand size.
I got the fox river 2 LT for my birthday 3 months ago and all my other knives are now collecting dust. It's a 5.25 blade and can do almost anything. For me this is the perfect blade
Big difference in size. I have to carry a folder because in all the places I go into. A long time ago I carried what I conciderd a small full tang knife everyone was looking at me side ways. Back in the 70s and 80's no one paid no mind these days everyone is so scary about everything. I changed and carry a folder on me and no one thinks twice or the don't notice it.
Cris quick question off topic since you've had time to use both weather wool and boreal what do u prefer better .I'm about to pull the trigger on weather wool but boreal is still attractive price wise .
I've never used a convex blade before. I wonder how it handles compare to other blades. I've used a hollow grind, and I don't like it. My usual go-to is a compound bevel, but I'd really like to try the convex.
Nice looking knife and scales, but the blade is too thick for it's overall size . . . I have and prefer the L.T. Wright Small Northern Hunter . . . I use knives this size for food prep/kitchen duty.
I think, its a bad ass knife with the perfect sice for me! I ordert one to Germany! I have 14 BRK and it is a pity, that i found your shop so late. In future, when i like to buy BRK, i'll do it buy by you! Your shop is, in my opinion, 1st class! Keep it up! P.S.: No use an A2 steel!
Update: This is my favorite BRK so far, perfect edc, fun to use and it just makes sense, that elmax is nice and thin and light and it's super slicy, Jason for dlt hit a home run on this design.
I have knifes with all of them and elmax is very much camparable to m390. M390 and elmax have more edge retention then 3v but are not as tough as 3v. Elmax is a little bit tougher then m390 but looses a TINY bit of edge retention... but the difference is honestly not noticable in the woods. But elmax is imho easier to sharpen (at the same hrc).
Elmax is a Bohler-Uddenholm stainless steel considered a super-steel also. I’ve had lots of knives in Elmax and a half dozen Bark River’s in Elmax. I really like it overall It compares very well to M390 with maybe a touch less edge retention than M390 depending on heat treat. It’s a upgrade to cpm-154, S30v/35 3V is a different animal being a carbon steel Field use, it has high corrosion resistance I cleaned a deer this fall with my BK Gunny in Elmax and forgot to clean it afterwards had zero rust over two weeks later 😳 It gets really really scary sharp pretty easy for me. I have rolled a edge before using a Elmax blade totally my fault was pushing down hard cutting squirrel bones while cleaning them. Didn’t notice I had moved of my cleaning board and was hitting metal table top. Still, it sharpened out on a diamond stone set and edge was good as new after some work.
You almost got me again had this one in my DLT cart just about pulled the trigger. Awesome little knife and cool ones still in-stock, but I’m waiting for a JX6 in Elmax. I already have to many small Bark’s and this one reminds me of my BK Bumblebee Elmax size wise so I passed.
PREPAREDMIND101 OK, your Kephart 3V got me LOL. I ordered another Kephart 3V just love the size to lite weight ratio of that stinking Kephart 3V. I Used the KSF link there on Kephart video to support channel thanks for the great videos 👍
Excellent Chris, thanks for showing this. Definitely EDC, I would use the smaller version as a Neck knife. Thanks again from us UK Subscribers. PEACE :-)
Sooner than later please lol love my micro bravo in elmax I've been eye balling the psk and the bumblebee for months now.. hey Chris wanna trade a brand new perseverance survival knife for the psk?? Pretty please lolol
Elmax is a greater steel for edge retention than cpm3v or even cruwear just my 3 cents look up steel metallurgy charts and data proof is in the pudding...
... Which is going to restrict access and availability and can add significant shipping costs to an already increased (though reasonable) price tag. This knife looks ideal to me. Would have loved to make this my first Bark River... Sigh.
I'm not American and can't justify to myself paying 200+ with shipping for the base version of the knife. And it doesn't seem to be available through European trade companies. Being an exclusive it probably never will, I suppose.
OK , I'm a knife nut . I sit there watching the television usually with folder in hand . But the amount of models some knife makers are bringing to the market with just a slight variation is getting monotonous .
I dont know Chris, I know its your channel, perhaps you should consider rebranding it Knifeminded101. Your has changed tremendously. Maybe make a knife channel and continue the great content that you used to bring to us. My opinion.
amazing knife, but comes in a sheath that is first off the equivalent of a leather aldi sack, and to top it off its a sheath for an other knife which is over an inch too long for this blade! bark river should be ashamed about their sheaths! knife is amazing but the total package counts! { in my opinion ONLY leather sheath without plastic inlay is horrible regardless becouse it breaks + it stays wet forever, but bark river goes the next step to even make their only leather sheaths crap } step up your game!
Chris stop making videos. It has been 2 years since I purchased this KNIVE. There have been others BR Bravo 1 Cruwear and many others. I own more BRs than a man should have.
Got this in magna cut. Skinned 2 deer with it last season worked awesome! I was able to work really fast comfortably.
Very nice. A few companies do a PSK knife and I like them alot but do think like the smaller PSK they are often more like a 3 finger knife. That being just a little bigger is awesome and full hand size.

Thanks for the heads up yesterday. Ordered mine this afternoon and it is on the way.
J Listed no doubts ! Plus Elmax steel , that ices the cake for me !
I like that even more than the smaller one. That's a killer blade. Thanks Chris.

Appreciate heads up, but sucks that they don’t make enough with cholla cactus - turquoise. Always first to go
I will stick wih my Bushbat JX4. It was designed by some Knuckle Head in Ohio. Using it as we speak to cut up my Liver and onions. (Not my liver,,,,)
Эта сталь ржавеет?спасибо.
Thanks for the heads up Chris! I ordered one in red linen micarta. Perfect edc
Cris quick question off topic since you've had time to use both weather wool and boreal what do u prefer better .I'm about to pull the trigger on weather wool but boreal is still attractive price wise .
Stunning knife - my choice would be lava flow/orange liner/hollow pins :)
I am skeptical about the handle :/

Complimenti.SUPER,SUPER👍👍👍
Hey do you think Perma bluing is good to use on knives that come in contact with food from time to time?
Update: This is my favorite BRK so far, perfect edc, fun to use and it just makes sense, that elmax is nice and thin and light and it's super slicy, Jason for dlt hit a home run on this design.
Thanks and I would love to have any Barkriver knives but I like the little one for a neck knife
Got the cru-wear version. It's definitely nice
Sweet knife. Just wish there were a bit more of a finger guard.

I won't fault you for that.

Excellent Chris, thanks for showing this. Definitely EDC, I would use the smaller version as a Neck knife. Thanks again from us UK Subscribers. PEACE :-)

I thought I would want one now I know I do. Would all fingers fit on it if the person wears lg to xl gloves???
May be bias, but for your size the JX6 would be better. My hands are Med/LG
@@preparedmind101 I have a JX 6 companion coming
Chris I’m going wait for your knife in Elmax I’m a hunter .
I bet it carves we’ll. what your favourite elmax or cpm cru wear
CruWear
Elmax is a greater steel for edge retention than cpm3v or even cruwear just my 3 cents look up steel metallurgy charts and data proof is in the pudding...
Ooow, why does the good stuff always have to be "exclusive"?
Because the person that designed it usually runs the business that it's exclusive to?
... Which is going to restrict access and availability and can add significant shipping costs to an already increased (though reasonable) price tag. This knife looks ideal to me. Would have loved to make this my first Bark River... Sigh.
How exactly is it going to do that? Given that DLT sells and ships the most Bark Rivers anyway?
I'm not American and can't justify to myself paying 200+ with shipping for the base version of the knife. And it doesn't seem to be available through European trade companies. Being an exclusive it probably never will, I suppose.
Your new video not working take a look
Yup I got first!!!!
Love from 🇨🇦
Is your son 'knife-indoctrinated' as well and if so, what is his favorite knife?

@pm101 Check your Gmail from Survivor Filter
It's winter. And water filters are boring and near impossible to really test.
Electric is neat :)

Got a PSK EDC last week. Grind is absolutely garbage! 80/20 centering. Contacted them and they blamed it on being hand made. Joke. Won't buy another.
Your not legit unless your outside chopping down trees with your EDC! Buhahahaha
