    12v battery died after one year in my 23 nx350h (in this year's mild Canadian winter). Replaced by dealer and now I installed a NOCO trickle charger like LSFT did. Thanks LSFT!

      @@sszzzzxx4702 yes that's short distances. It's recommended to at least have the car running for at least 20 mins for every start.

      Seems a hybrid specific issue. My 10 year old highlander is driven even less, but no problem at all (has a 5 year old Costco 12v battery in it). Of course it has much less electronics and connectivity vs. the nx. I think they have to beef up the battery in hybrid.@@lsft

    • @lsft
      @lsft  8 месяцев назад

      @@sszzzzxx4702 The replacement battery that they provided was a bigger battery and better CCA. I have trickle charged my car twice since it got replaced and it still took 2.5 hrs to fully charge the battery on one time. That was about a month after it got replaced. Over time if the delta of the 12V is always lower every single time you start your car, at one point there is no more juice to start the car.

    I have a '24 NX 350h, Japan made. My only real complaint so far is the lower edge of the doors hold mud and dirt. They should seal at the bottom of the vehicle, like my previous vehicle did ('17 Mazda CX-5 GT AWD).

    • @lsft
      @lsft  9 месяцев назад +1

      They put the seal higher on the door with the body. This has been the same design in the first gen NX as well. Not sure why it was done that way. Wonder if we add a weather seal strip on the black plastic and if that will help reduce the mud and dirt?

    • @MrOktsx

    I have a made in Canada NX. I don't have the shaky mirror, or crooked seats, or battery issues, or wiper issues, or any of the issues others have complained about. My NX was assembled in May 2022 and delivered in June 2022. I don't think the Canada plant gets enough credit for its work and it's always getting knocked for poor quality. That simply is not the case. Are there occasional cars with defects? Yes. But so also with Japanese assembled cars! Knocking an entire plant because of some issues doesn't seem fair in my opinion. The plant is verified to the highest standards of quality by Lexus itself. That's good enough for me.

      Not a defect or anything but I'm annoyed about the wipers. They don't sweep all the way to the edge of the windshield. It leaves about a 1/4 of a foot. With rain who cares, but with snow it gets annoying cause cause there is so much not cleared away.

Then I read your comment and now I am dreading the next winter… I know it will drive me F’n bonkers when that whole A piller and several more inches will be a completely blocked view! I got the NX350 and I also had issues the first time I took it to the car wash. The shifter stood at N and wouldn’t go into drive. I almost jumped out of the car because I thought the car behind me would hit me. However, fast thinking, parked the car, which worked, then placed it on D again and it moved. I was almost in tears. Fast forward, I’ve taken my car several times now to the car wash and it’s been fine. Sometimes it doesn’t work right away. I make sure I put my foot on the brake deeply which seems to help. However, I am now making sure to turn off the on and off button. I have a feeling that feature may be causing the issue. 🤷‍♀️

    After two months of ownership. I noticed the fuel read out say 20 miles left to empty but only takes 10.5 gallons of the 14.5 gallon capacity. Something not right there. I also turned off the backing up safety braking but still have the warnings. It was way to sensitive picking up other cars in the distance. The problem with turning this off is the warning has to be dismissed each time at start up.

      Lexus typically has 15% of reserve when the light comes on. So about 2 gallons, but that should just be 12.5 gallons. I have heard many people complaining about it, but I haven't driven down that low before refuel. I have also driven other Toyota and Lexus vehicles where distance to empty being 1-2km for a very long time. It's possible the distance to empty estimate is incorrect and it's still learning.

    Hi again,
    My only complaint after 1 monh of ownership, is that the run-flat tires are noisier than i expected.
    I'm also curious about the ability of the heat pump in the NX450h+ to keep up with Canadian winters. I live in Edmonton where temperatures can get down to -30 C and occasionally even colder.
    Perhaps it doesn't get quite that cold in Toronto, but what has been your experience with our northern winter deep freeze? If the heat pump can't get the job done in extreme cold, does the NX supplement with heat from the engine?
    Thanks.

    • @lsft
      @lsft  Год назад +1

      Hi - yes some people notice the run-flats a lot. Just turn up the music. :P
      The NX450h+ will turn on the engine at -10 C, so that it can heat up the cabin. Even at lower temps like 0 degrees C, if you turn on the front defogger, it will turn on the gas engine to get you the quickest heat. The heat pump won't be enough to warm up the car when it's too cold outside.

    @jean-marcdelbos2206 Год назад +5

    Interesting perspective. I must say, knock on wood, I have experienced none of these reported issues (NX450h+, made in Japan in Jan 22).
    Regarding the Complaint #7, I recognize more the LDA rather than the BSM. The BSM never "pushes the car back to lane". Not sure if the alleged problem is real.
    Also, with the Complaint #9, I would make the same comment as you. It seems to be the "RCTA" that detects something moving in the back and stops the car instantly. Not sure if the alleged problem is real.
    On my side, I would rather complain about the app (talking about Lexus Link that we have in Europe). However, it is surprizingly improving since several weeks ! Only a few small things are still not working for me, but the majority of the functions have become operational (don't ask me why, there was no new update in the car - to my knowledge - nor new version of the app) and even some European users of new cars have Lexus Link 100% operational since April !
    In my case, the car is improving overtime. Like good wine, it seems !!!

    In my Canadian-made NX 350h, the 12-volt battery failed catastrophically six weeks after I took delivery of it. The dealership found defective cells and current being lost. I had to jumpstart it eight times in one week! Dealership replaced the battery, and no more problems with that.
    Occasionally, when I shift into reverse, my NX aggressively brakes suddenly when there really isn't something in the way. This most often happened when there was snow piled up close to the side of the road, so I think it was over-cautious. It isn't chronic, but wanting to be extra safe, I have not tried to decrease the sensitivity of the sensors.

Damaged 3 of my wheels at the 1 year service. I occasionally have the same experience with my BSM lights activating with no car or lane next to me; however, in my case, it's the passenger side mirror giving the false signal. • @jean-marcdelbos2206
      @jean-marcdelbos2206 Год назад

      Is there a misunderstanding ? The BSM operates regardless there is an adjascent lane or not. It operates when the rear radars detect "something" coming from behind and the signal on the mirror comes on depending on its proximity.
      If you think you have an issue with the detection, maybe could you try to adjust the sensitivity (the "Support timing" in the Settings menu) and check if that makes any difference ?
      It is to be noted that the same radars are also used to trigger the fast flashing hazard lights, in the event of a probable rear-end collision detection.
      But in no occasion does the BSM push the car back into lane, as reported in the Complaint #7.

    I can vouch for Jean-Marc statement about Lexus Link (European flavor)...works like a charm since day #1.
    Did not read of rattling mirrors in Europe as far as I know
    3 minor ergonomic complaints for me :
    - the ever forgetting hold function : Huge change for me after 3 DSG cars where once you activate the hold function it stays activated even if you shut down the car
    - the trip energy consumption reading that is avalaible in non Hud versions cannot be found anywhere and you have to shut down the car to get a glimpse of this kind of stat
    - the data that you can download from Lexus link is to limited, without going to the extend of dedicated tools such as Hybrid assistant, a few more datasets would be nice to have
    I do also think that ADAS related complaints (#7 and #9 for example) are often related to the added layer of complexity these systems add to the car behavior which sometimes may seem odd.

    I just want to add Lexus NX 350h 2022 driver seat squeak. I bought mine in 2022 brand new. It started squeaking probably after 4 month of ownership. Lexus dealer asks for $240 diagnostic fee, if they find out that warranty covers it, then they might reimburse it. I guess I need to figure out how to fix it myself.

      @lsft  4 месяца назад

      Whereabouts are you? I have never heard from a dealership that looking at a squeak during warranty would cost a diagnostic fee. Did you try another dealership?

      @@lsft I’m in Los Angeles. Specifically that’s what Lexus dealership rep in Van Nuys told me. Regarding the driver seat squeak there are threads on Lexus forums that prove that mine is not an isolated case. Anyways it is what it is

    Starting in 2022 all NX models were and are currently manufactured in Ontario, Canada, not Japan. That is the reason why they are having so many issues.

    • @lsft
      @lsft  7 месяцев назад

      Many 2022 were made in Japan in the early days. Even Japan made NXs have frozen door handles as well. So you can't say it's limited to Canada made NXs.

    Lexus wanted to be fancy with their door handles because most premium brands have own version of fancy door handles.

      There is a purpose for those door handles. It's designed for the safety exit assist feature.

    That crooked seat story doesn't make sense. It should be set on permanent tracks and holes. Can not be installed any other way.

    • @lsft
      @lsft  3 месяца назад

      Possible the seat was manufactured incorrectly or got damaged after installation was complete.

    You'll notice that the 250 model has the least problems in years to come . Versus the 450 will have the most m 450 is a more complicated design meaning more issues and things that can go bad

    • @lsft
      @lsft  Год назад

      Well the NX450h+ only has a few extra components when you compare to the NX350h. You can say that the NX250 may have the least problems, but I don't see it going to be that far away. Even when you look at the base model or the fully loaded by the NX250 could be different as well. So will you just buy the base mode of the 250?
