    I have a 2016 and a couple of older models. Thank you for this video. It is very helpful. I wish my local dealer had been honest enough to warn me of this model.

      Well they’re just all to make a sale some dealers are honest they quit selling them when they found out they had so many problems in 2013 and they stop selling all of the snappers until they came back out with the old style in 2019. Jim

      When you remove the belt engage the mower deck which will disengage the break and try spinning the blade and see if it turns smoothly and freely otherwise you may have bearing issues. Jim

    Hey Jim ! Those Turtles look similar to a Cub Cadet & Troy Built model ! Great video on this type of Snapper mower & I was glad I watched It. How is Bruce's 42 inch doing since he got it back ? & I noticed the Lawn-Boy is still on the bench , I have not started on the 1974 Snapper Comet yet other than pressure wash it & I should be able to scuff it soon & prep it for a repaint , I've been busy doing vehicle repairs & yard work so it was great to watch your video & I'm busy getting the travel trailer ready for a few outings We have not been out in it for about 3 seasons , But I always like to take time to watch your videos. What did I get myself into….Mine is a 2016 RE110
    i haven’t started yet just doing some research.i got this mower for some side work.Its in great shape but the guy who gave it to said it dies in high grass.Welp i checked the belt it’s really loose by touch.im thinking the belt,it drives fine definitely need greased up.What do you think passed off this comment?

    • @jimjackson9381
      @jimjackson9381  2 месяца назад

      Yes, service the machine up the best you can and make sure everything is moving. You may have to tighten the belt if it’s too loose first check to make sure he didn’t change the belt and put the wrong one on.

    Hi Jim, great informational video as usual. You have probably already answered this, but where do I find the model number of my unit? The Briggs engine serial tells me that it was made in 1985 but I can't seem to find the mower serial. Thanks.

    • @jimjackson9381
      @jimjackson9381  3 года назад

      Well sometimes they’re on the tube underneath the seat or as you’re looking at the machine they’ll be on the right hand side of the rear case in the front under the seat or they’ll be on the back of the rear case that’s typically the three places they put them. Jim

      @@jferbie2000 you may have bumped the switch on the yolk. If you stand in the machine back up it’s in the lower left-hand corner with four wires hooked to it. The older ones only had two wires check and make sure it’s working properly.

    Jim I just installed a new belt thanks to your video it went fairly easy. But after installation my mower will not start? I only had about a quarter tank of gas in it when I stood it straight up to replace the belt. Could I of tripped something during the new belt installation as I’m at a loss?

    • @jimjackson9381
      @jimjackson9381  Год назад

      I would check the Oil and see if it smells like gas and take the spark plug out and turn the engine over and see if it blows any gas out of the hole but make sure the spark plug wire is not touching anything because if it makes a spark it will set it on fire I know this by experience , lol. Let me know what you find out. Jim

    • @jimjackson9381
      @jimjackson9381  Год назад

      Oh one important part when you set your machine back down on its wheels let it sit so the oil can run back down into the sump so you don’t blow up your engine colder the weather the longer it’s going to take I would wait about 15 to 20 minutes on a warm day. Jim

    • @austenrink980
      @austenrink980 Год назад

      I let it sit over night but notice there was residual oil coming out of the fill plug when I try starting with the pool cord it almost acts like some type of safety Mechanism is preventing it from turning over. I normally do not start it using the key but when I tried it did not turn the motor over whatsoever but was making a sound like something was spinning in the rear of the motor

    • @jimjackson9381
      @jimjackson9381  Год назад

      If the engine is not turning over and the cylinder is full of gasoline you’ll have to remove the spark plug to clear it out. Jim

    • @austenrink980
      @austenrink980 Год назад

      Jim I remove the spark plug and I crank the engine a few times there was a small amount of gasoline that spit out but not very much at all the oil smells like a bit like gas when I opened up the Phil and the spark plug was very black at the very end near the probe and saturated heavily.
      Any suggestions how I should proceed? Thanks again for being so quick in your Responses

    Hey Jim, I'm about to pick-up a snapper turtle for $100. He says engine runs great. But it won't move when in gear. I'm thinking its the drive disk. Can you go over the possible issues of why it may not be moving while in gear. Thanks!

    • @jimjackson9381
      @jimjackson9381  Год назад

      Well let’s see one of the bolts in the wheel flanges that go through the axle could be broke or missing that will stop the machine from going to either forward or reverse the clutch disc maybe shot the yolk spring either needs tightening or maybe replacing one of the linkages from the shift handle to the chain case may be broken one of the chains In the differential or chain case could have broke the large differential gear or maybe stripped out how there’s a lot of little things that could cause it that wouldn’t cost much to replace let me know if you buy it and what you find out what is wrong with it. • @jimjackson9381
      @jimjackson9381  3 года назад

      Well I guess I would start by taking the cover off of the mower deck you may even want to just remove the mower deck because the issue is probably the blade is bent, or the blade mounting bar is bent, or the spindle is bad or the combination of any of those when you get a taken part let me know what you find. • @jimjackson9381
      @jimjackson9381  Год назад

      Well as most lawn tractors you’re going to have to take the mower deck off to be able to see what you’re doing and you’re gonna have to lay underneath of it and there should be some idler pulleys with a very large spring to it check to make sure your spring hasn’t broke or that your belt hasn’t jumped off of one of the idler pulleys while you’re under there shoot a video with your phone and send it to me because I’m not familiar with that model.
