    Anto is re rigging my Midget 31 at the moment. My first boat and he is fantastic at passing on information about what he is doing. Will be keeping her at Woolverstone.

    Fascinating. You've successfully put me off owning a boat like that 😀 looks like a lot of graft to maintain it….

    You Pin Mill boys and your playing in the mud. The weed seems to be alot more this year than last in the Orwell. Great to see things are going well on the new boat.

    You are courageous restarting a new fit up. I'm planning to go through the same process next year, just when my current boat is working like a clock, like Katrina I think!
    Thanks for sharing your experience and tips, the video was very well edited and very pleasant to watch!

    Sam, if I'm not mistaken, it looks like a Hasler SP2, or SP3 wind vane that the new owners have fitted to Katrina, designed by none other than Blondie Hasler of "Cockle Shell Heroes" fame.
    I will be fitting the same to my Great Dane 28 after an exhausting total refit.
    Cheers Jon👍

    Ok. Daft question. How is the mast fastened to the boat? It looked like you lowered it onto a metal slot, but does it just sit on that?

    • @samsails9820
      @samsails9820  2 месяца назад +1

      Yes the mast is stepped onto the base you see in the video. Fastened with the rigging to the deck

      @@samsails9820 thank you. I guess I’ve always assumed that they’re bolted on, but I guess they must move, or try to move, a fair bit.

    Sam, How much approx does a re-rig cost for that kind of yacht?

    • @samsails9820
      @samsails9820  3 месяца назад +1

      Depends on what needs to be done...a full standing rig replacement can be anywhere between £3-6k depends where you get it done.
