    I find that lower ranked players can recognize when you decide to not low block a lot and begin spamming lows, having a fantastic low crushing move that isn't too punishable destroys these players, but it can be annoying if you don't.

    • @PeterYMao
      @PeterYMao  5 лет назад +5

      It's one of those things that over time you develop better and better movement and you can start positioning yourself away from those chip low situations. Also there is a certain point in time where you will have to start blocking lows, but I wouldn't do it when you have tons of life.

    Thanks for all these videos bro. I'm commenting to help you up in the RUclips algorithm since you deserve it.
    I'm a street fighter player originally but after the disappointed that is sf5 and noticing that the killer instinct scene has died I let fighting games go. I have bought t6, ttt2 and t7 in the past years right when they came out but it was always so overwhelming to learn a new complex fighting game while not being a student anymore but having to work long hours.
    This stuff really helps me and I can finally say that since 2 weeks I have actually started playing Tekken.

    Amazing video! I’m not sure if I’m just really slow but I can’t see how people are able to react to snake edge in neutral. I’ve tried your last practice routine for like an hour and can’t seem to block the snake edge in time.
    I doubt I’ll be able to read it in an actual match. It seems like the only way is if I anticipated the snake edge before the animation even starts, which is unrealistic. Should I keep practicing or will it be something that comes with playing the game more?

    • @PeterYMao
      @PeterYMao  2 года назад +1

      Sorry to say, but a lot of it is practice. Having seen the attack over and over eventually you’ll be able to. I would not suggest doing it an hour at a time, but rather doing it on a consistent basis of 15-20min a day. It’s better to practice consistently 15min a day rather than 2 hours just once a week. Exposure to it is very important

      @@wyvernx666 The reason I ask is not every character has a SS+4 so I was wondering if you were trying to do a SS+4 with a character that doesn't have a SS+4. Lol. But in your case, SS+4 has a window in which the SS+4 can be done. If you input the 4 before the SS starts then you won't get the move and if you input the 4 after the SS window finishes then you will also not get the 4. Try practicing in practice mode with the command history on so you can see to make sure you are getting at least clean inputs. It could be that if you are not missing the window for SS+4 that maybe you are accidentally pressing either u/b or u/f or d/b or d/f when trying to do the SS. Hope that helps. It is something you have to take a guess on if he will do a mid or low after the first kick of the sequence. I suggest paying attention to the King player. Most players have a pattern they like to do. The mid that follows is launch punishable. And the low if you block it can be launched too.

    What bugs me is that I've been playing Tekken for years and I still do the mistake of getting a standing move (like standing 4 or standing 2) instead of a WS move (like WS4 or WS2). I'm not SS cancelling the crouch either. It only happens in actual matches, completely fine in practice...

    • @PeterYMao
      @PeterYMao  5 лет назад +1

      @Munem939 So what's happening is that you're no longer in the WS state anymore when you are pressing the 4 or 2. This can in part to attributed to the lag. If you are practicing in practice mode at 5 bars and when you play opponents who are 4 or 3 bars, it might be throwing off your timing. One way I found that helped me cope with this as it has happened to me online as well was to press the WS attack a little sooner than I think I would (just ever so slightly).

It's like the game didn't even recognise any of my inputs for WS but recognises my standing move and only during a WS state (My controller definitely isn't broken). Both games have so many downgrades when it comes to online. Tekken 6 has the worst netcode i have ever seen in a game, which makes snake edges unseeable. And you dont need me to tell you how kazuya plays with lag. And in tag 2, the rage system is completely busted and the fact that you have to beat 2 lilis or xioyus messes up your brain. But for a good player these shouldnt be a problem, i see high ranks in both games and i just wonder why they can do it and i can't. I barely made it to green ranks in both games.

      @@BillysKiller7 you play Kazuya online so it makes it infinitely harder. I think if you wanted to play like some snake edge character and abuse it, the results would bump you up some ranks for sure. But from what I gather online you play rather honest. Also, Tekken isn't a standard race, it's one of those games that takes patience, and dedication to get good at. With 100+ moves from each character, there is no way anyone in 1 year can become beginner to exceptional. Whichever Tekken you play, my biggest tip is to save your matches if you can. Watch them over, and ask yourself why did I do this here, what could I have done definitely, was there some pattern I did not see my opponent doing? Many times players get stuck at a rank because of either (1) lack of knowledge (2) playing without thinking. The later playing without thinking is the most dangerous.
