I really thought that this step would be hard to France but they did it! This win is quite more probant than the last one against Australia. French makes me proud (I’m French) because they never stop to believe in victory. They now actually play as adult and cold blooded people. The win against the NZ last year was not significant because the NZ was so tired. France made the Chlem, won the three southern monsters…but they are not the favorite to win the title next year on my point of wiew. It’s not a step, it’s a stair! A hard one but we can hope! Anyway great game and great victory! France has really improved her game and stop to count on her versatile and lucky « French Flair ». No penalties and a 90% kick scorer! These are the keys! What else!
High level confrontation betwen 2 splendides teams. How can we guess the name of the next world champion .... ??? The rugby pratice this week by all the team was really great 👍👍👍. RDV en 2023 🏉🏉🏉🏆🏆🏆🏉🏉🏉
2 best teams in the world right now in my opinion if they avoid each other in the draw then this should be the world cup final outstanding test match very little between the two teams
That’s always in the nature of a World Cup. Although there are always favourites, the knockout nature of the later stages means that surprises can happen, even though, admittedly they don’t happen that often.
I just find it funny that as soon as France take the conversion on that second movement try all of a sudden we can now see the replays, pretty blatant corruption for the last 15 minutes by the people in control of the cameras. However this was still game of the year for me so far and France deserved the win as much as South Africa would have.
@@business3867 South African fans blaming the referee has long been one of the worst things in the world rugby. It has reached ridiculous proportions. They should be ashamed.
At 3:27, wasn’t Macalou allowed to stand up since he actually wasn’t held to the ground by the SA tackler? That call annihilated a good attacking opportunity for France and gave 3 points to SA instead
No the tackle was complete because he had both his knees on the ground while arendse was still holding on to him, so you have to release the ball then.
@@rhysjansen07 technically when tackled most knees touch the floor hence the reason I thought it was the physical action of being held that completes the tackle. Thanks for clarifying anyway 😂
With France and Ireland playing as good as they are currently, it'll be even more embarrassing if they can not win the World Cup in 2023. 12/12 wins vs top tier nations, the French should be immensely proud!
the next World Cup is going to be great. With 4 big favorites (France, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa), 3 teams (England, Australia and Argentina) which can eliminate one of the favorite teams, the World Cup has never been so indecisive.
@@jagorsimp7020 that’s just the nature of the World Cup. There can always be slipups in the group stages, but all bets can be off, come the knockout rounds. Admittedly, big surprises haven’t been very common, but it’s the nature of this type of competition that they’re always there just under the surface
I didn't mind losing this one because A) it was an immense game, France are awesome, but more importantly B) we are now underdogs for the World Cup and we THRIVE as underdogs! So thank you World Rugby and France! A wonderful game 🇿🇦
You aren't underdog, South Africa is the defending champion team. There is no way you can call this team "underdogs". Scotland, Japan or Australia in a certain way are underdogs teams
Can't believe South Africa pushed us to the limit with one red card, and took the lead... Then the yellow... OMG what a team, what a match. Warriors on the pitch today.
The French crowed are amazing! Waving their flags, singing, engaged in the game and patriotism in abundance! Compare that to wales.. crowd swigging beer, fighting, looking on their phones, not engaged in the game and un-patriotic. This is how to support your team!
Agree, but shame they try to put off the opposition player kicking a penalty by whistling, booing etc. Not good sportsmanship in my opinion. Don't like this behaviour wherever it happens by the way.
@@iainbb Extreme booing was on the last SA penalty kick for a reason, the penalty against Macalou. Plus Marseille is a football city, and the south east of France have latin hot-blooded mentality. Toulon fans are whistle prone too for instance.
We won but damn they broke us so hard... Classic SA rugby, proud of our team who could finally resist, and of course congrats to the Boks, forever and ever warriors on the fields !
I'm french and I addmit that it's weird to accord last try (there was still a penalty advantage for us when he accorded it) BUT there were also a few mistakes for us like for example the last penalty for SA that gave them 4 points lead. Macalou clearly not hold on the ground so he is allowed to get back up and he said it was foul play.. Was a very close game anyways and both teams can pretend to win RWC in 2023
@@thomaslafabregue2927 The ref was good for the first 70 minutes, he just made a few bad calls in the last minutes. But all in all France deserved to win, and tough luck to the boks. I want to see teams play that way at the world cup, it was fun to watch.
Well, well, i knew this match could reach records of intensity and earthquakes, but waw. 2 red cards, 5 commotions protocols, many injuries... There will be sore bodies this week. South Africa offered all their muscle palette but they also showed intelligence in the kicking game. Surprised to watch kolbe and de klerk as New options. They will be a rough nut to crack in 2023. As for France, they've just forgotten how to lose a game of rugby despite injuries, red cards and unfair calls (that Ghost penalty on Macalou..) But they Always find a way through the pack or the wing. They seem more and more complete, even in a torture rugby test.
communication withTMO magically disappeared, quelle surprise! I don't think the try should have stood but a France should have had a penalty try prior to that.
unfortunatly we lost a lot of our front players, so these newly players introduced don't really have an international level, so they surely make more mistakes. That's ok, whats not ok is the referee's attitude regarding that try
What a game!!! This was a first time in a long time where the Boks used a variation tactic approach as well as running with the ball. I don't understand why the coaching staff must first be forced to allow the Boks team to play like that, instead of just doing it in the first place. There was no problem with the referee, although the last 10 min without a TMO or replays was kinda suspect. Still proud of the Boks! to statistically dominate the Irish and French at their home is a clear indication that we have the upper hand going into the RWC. Even though the score doesn't show it, I'm sure both countries will know that their victories weren't comfortable as everybody predicted. France will definitely be our quarterfinal opponent and with a fully fit Bok squad will definitely upset the odds because that day the Rugby World we be against us again as they were when we played Japan in 2019.
@@gaimbz I'm making a prediction that France will end second in Pool A and we will end First in Pool B. That is why i said the Boks will meet France in the quarters

The expression "haut les cœurs" will thus be used to encourage someone to carry his or her heart high, to throw himself or herself into a battle with ardour and passion.
South Africa finally got their selection right. Need Willie le Roux to marshall the backs and for his intelligent kicking game and good to see Faf back at 9. Who would have imagined he (and Cheslin) are actually decent goal-kickers . To start winning these kind of test matches, SA still need to cut down on set piece and handling errors reduce the silly penalties, but most important is to improve their restarts. They need to secure the ball as soon as possible from the restart and get out of their own half and into opposition half as soon as possible. Almost every tier 1 international side has an 80% goal kicker who will punish you if you spend too long in your own half.
Time after time charging into a ruck is dangerous. Stop this from happening and red and yellow cards will fade away. Charging is like a missile and when players are over ball, head knocks, legs etc can do a lot of damage.
Well there is a solution, but the northern hemisphere don't want it. Bring back rucking with the feet. Players won't lie over the ball as they have to stay on their feet. It cleans the ruck area up completely.
I'm going to be the unpopular one who points out that it was de Allende who latched onto PSDT who caused the incident. The red card was clearly the correct call, no question about that at all, but the action was more accidental than malicious or with wanton disregard - the player, is simply not like that. It would be unfair of me not to point out that the same applies to du Pont - accidental contact in the air and not malicious at all.
As an Englishman who has suffered at the hands of Marius Joncker for years I feel Wayne Barnes has struck a blow back here 😂 The late yellow and the late penalty seemed pretty interesting
And Erasmus continuing to epitomize the sour grapes one-sided whinging spirit. He's so pathetic that even some one-eyed South Africans have realised how absolutely cringe he is a this point.
Well done the French. What a brutal game. Some pretty dangerous tackles here and there, hence the two red cards. French looking good as we close out 2022 and head into RWC year, in France!

Agree: Top 2, PACKED with talent and power. Hopefully final meeting between the two unless one or the other falls to NZ before then.

The next World Cup is going to be epic. So many teams capable of winning it.
That’s always in the nature of a World Cup. Although there are always favourites, the knockout nature of the later stages means that surprises can happen, even though, admittedly they don’t happen that often.
@@MKRM27 Yes and no. There are 20 teams in the WC. Only four have ever won it. I think there’s probably 8 serious contenders this time.
France was very strong. They deserve more than that. But congratulations for south african performance too. Magnificent rugby ! 💛
I just find it funny that as soon as France take the conversion on that second movement try all of a sudden we can now see the replays, pretty blatant corruption for the last 15 minutes by the people in control of the cameras. However this was still game of the year for me so far and France deserved the win as much as South Africa would have.

At 3:27, wasn’t Macalou allowed to stand up since he actually wasn’t held to the ground by the SA tackler?
That call annihilated a good attacking opportunity for France and gave 3 points to SA instead
Was screaming at the TV for that call 😂 not even close to being held IMO
No the tackle was complete because he had both his knees on the ground while arendse was still holding on to him, so you have to release the ball then.
Ref said fault cause he didn’t release the ball when he lost his supportings
@@rhysjansen07 technically when tackled most knees touch the floor hence the reason I thought it was the physical action of being held that completes the tackle. Thanks for clarifying anyway 😂
I mean the ref did gift you a try at the end so doesn't really matter
With France and Ireland playing as good as they are currently, it'll be even more embarrassing if they can not win the World Cup in 2023.
12/12 wins vs top tier nations, the French should be immensely proud!
the next World Cup is going to be great. With 4 big favorites (France, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa), 3 teams (England, Australia and Argentina) which can eliminate one of the favorite teams, the World Cup has never been so indecisive.
And don't forget Scotland, Wales (if they finally get their shit back), and a mutating Italian team. There won't be any easy games in this world cup
Underdogs to who ?
What a game for both nations 👏👏👏🤙

France got me biting my nails great game both sides, big thanks to the ref Wayne barnes can’t imagine how tough this game was to call 🙌🏾🙏🏾
you are right but SA players should learn to shut their mouth, they were always all talking to Barnes
Was a very close game anyways and both teams can pretend to win RWC in 2023
Barnes is trash, he owes us the RWC2007…
The referee had an absolutely brilliant game. He is world-class.
Great game. That last French try was a clear double movement but nonetheless a great test match.
TMO said no, Barnes said no, touch referee said no. But I guess we will listen to you marnoux
No😂
communication withTMO magically disappeared, quelle surprise! I don't think the try should have stood but a France should have had a penalty try prior to that.
yeah the refree wasn't at the rendez-vous
unfortunatly we lost a lot of our front players, so these newly players introduced don't really have an international level, so they surely make more mistakes. That's ok, whats not ok is the referee's attitude regarding that try
To anyone who didn't see the full game, I highly recommend finding and watching it. The relentless, ferocious, intensity was something to behold.
The French try in the last 10 minutes have been checked by the TMO if I remember well (making Ramos wait to kick the conversion).
Why did you say that France - SA will be the quarter final ? You thought Ireland will be first of your group or France will be second in our group ?
There were loads of suspect calls by the Ref...it is a problem in tight matches

Nobody ever said "haut les coeurs" since... 1952, probably.
@@Desi365 ....no it is a french expression, The expression "haut les cœurs" is the latest addition to the long list of French expressions of encouragement. This expression is an elliptical interjection intended to solicit a higher virtue in a person or a group of people. The speaker appeals to the bravery, ardour and courage of his or her comrades.
What a game
Merci les gars vous etiez magnifique
Time after time charging into a ruck is dangerous. Stop this from happening and red and yellow cards will fade away. Charging is like a missile and when players are over ball, head knocks, legs etc can do a lot of damage.
Exactly they're supposed to push through the ruck or lift the players off the ruck, not barge at it like a missile 🤦♂️

@@josephr7529 Retiring from a ruck, maul, scrum or lineout
A player who is offside at a ruck, maul, scrum or lineout remains offside, even after the ruck, maul, scrum or lineout has ended.
The player can be put onside only if:
a. That player immediately retires behind the applicable offside line; or
b. An opposition player carries the ball five metres in any direction; or
c. An opposition player kicks the ball.
In this situation his feet are behind the line (onside) and hands over the line (offside). However the moment he lifts his hands to make the tackle there is a split second where he has not yet made contact and his feet are now behind the line. This means he has A. retired behind the applicable offside line before engaging in play.
