He could have made an excellent 10.
But in the 2007 I think he was not seen as a fly-half outside of emergencies. When 2008/9 rolled around, Morné Steyn made that position his and although Pienaar is the more dynamic player, we can't ignore the incredible kicking boot from Morne.

Come on people, all I can say is, keep supporting your respective teams..especially at this time, where the RWC 2023 is knocking on the door. Most teams have been going through changes and faced many difficult, internal issues, but the players need the support of their fellow countrymen. Yes, obviously couching staff play a massive role in a team's preparations for a world cup, but low morale and motivation is a killer for any teams. Based on talent alone, I think most of the top ranking teams have got the potential to win the 2023 cup. Look back at the upset caused by the Bokke loosing to Japan!! The Bokke went into the 2019 RWC as underdogs, but we won the trophy. A lot of teams might feel, and be considered as underdogs this year, but the trophy has never been as open, and up for grabs as this year.
As a staunch Saffa, I will never rule out any country, and neither will I slag off, or belittle any team....but all I can say is, keep supporting your team, and be proud of them, they need it. I hope everyone will enjoy this world cup..its going to be an epic one. And in true sportsmanship, may the best team win, and raise that cup. Cheers.

It's been the same story for years. England's forwards keep getting outmanouvred on the ground and in the breakdown. They either give away fouls or lose the ball. Thereafter, they waste good attacking posions or put the defence under huge pressure, which cracks. See the recent game against France for the latest example.

I think we'll be fine - maybe not for the World Cup though, but still - they should have sacked Jones a year before they did - now we are paying the price for it. It happens to all teams at some point, even the might AB's.

How I miss this pattern from the boks. Playing the game at pace. Ball in hand. Now we are reduced to kicking the leather off the ball. Channel one runners of 9. Slowing our own ball down milking penalties. It's sacrilege
