    The way to do is if it's offered in spark buy it for the Apollo and you get both the DSP and native version without the subscription. I already owned the Pure Plate, Vision Channel strip and 1073 and the 1176 bundle so when they came out with Spark I got those free. I picked up the LA2 bundle last month and received the native versions of those for free. SO going forward I'm only going to buy plugins that run on both that way I can use them no matter where I am.

    💯 I said the same thing until I tried it. It's absolutely worth it. That Neve 1073 is a real game changer. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. The only issue is the plugin window when you open it in your DAW is cut off. Not sure how to fix it but all the main features in most the plugins are for the most part fully functional.

    NO WAAAAAAY! Wtf I got a apollo just to get access to the eco system. So I have been demoing the spark plugins and did not know this that you cant use them in your hardware. Also I noticed today when I opened a session they made me log into the UA Connect portal to get access, what if i have no internet connection? I made my setup where i can fully produce and record 100% offline.

    I think DSP is great , I have an antelope audio interface, Love it. Computers are so powerful nowadays you can record without DSP, well depending on how huge the session is lol. I come from the Pro Tools HD days where you needed DSP. One of the issues that uad has their DSP chips are really old. you're right when it comes to the classic compressors, my favorite is the CLA stuff. if I remember correctly if you own the DSP version of the plug-in they would give you the native one free.

    If you already are a UAD user with an apollo it’s understandable. Spark is more useful for people who don’t use UAD interfaces or Windows users.

    This is really great for persons who don't own a UAD hardware, which I believe is about 75% of producers, song writer etc...Most of these companies are turning to subscription base systems.

    From what I understand they will work on making the plug8nd they make to native. Not 3rd party ones.

    I never understand the preference to commit first vs mixing the vocal after the fact, either way makes no difference if you're happy with the sound you're getting. With the most systems having delay compensation, when I plugin into the Volt and run a bit of reverb for an instrument when recording, I hear no latency, plus with macs these days being so fast and powerful, there is very little difference in it. In the past pro tools used to not have delay compensation. For many in the analogue domain, most people do a tiny bit of processing and a further processing once in the daw. Doing things in stages is good, layer upon layer. If the source is good, then it doesn't matter whether a bit is done going in, or vocal chain is saved and put on the vocal afterwards, levelling work and further processing is needed later anyway, in most cases. The whole reason plugins were invented was so things could be changed after the fact. I use the volt, which is good quality pre in a sound card, for a fraction of the cost, and then subscribe to Spark, and get those plugins, with and expanding list. For many the plugins are super pricey, some can afford the whole lot, and true, can pick which plugins they want to buy, unlike with Spark, having to wait until the plugin they like comes out in subscription mode, personally I think it is worth it to have the flexibility to be on the move at times without lugging the hardware around. The only issue is, UAD are taking there time with releasing the full set, bc they know if that's the case there will no longer be a need to for out upwards of 800 to 1000, at least, for their hardware. It comes down to this, when engineers like Andrew Schepps can mix an entire album, on a laptop in a plane, then I don't need a 2000 dollar soundcard. Plus with most soundcards being so good these days, including their VOLT range, that said if over half the list came for free with an apollo device, I would consider getting the apollo, that would justify upwards of 800 dollars minimum spend.

    Real time or near-zero latency. I need to be able to record with no buffering to achieve the time feel I’m looking for. Is the $1000 for the Twin going to help me accomplish this? I feel like you already gave your answer in the video but I’m really a novice.

    • @deepvan9796
      @deepvan9796 Год назад +1

      If you already own the plugin you'll get it for free in Spark (IF IT'S AVAILABLE IN SPARK) even without a paid subscription. But here's the catch. They're never going to port all the current Apollo plugins over to Spark. Why? Because if everyone with a new computer had access to them without an Apollo interface, nobody would buy an Apollo. The DSP is completely antiquated and even with eight Satellites running they can't do what an M1-PRO laptop can. If you're not too far into the UA ecosystem as far as plugin purchases go I'd strongly suggest not buying anymore of their plugins (no matter how many sales they tempt you with). Instead go get them from Plugin Alliance (for less) and watch them soar with undetectable latency on a modern computer. Oh, and you won't even need internet access to use them every time you launch them. ;)

    Apollos are not needed anymore with the new mac’s. You don’t need the extra dsp power.

    • @luancav

      We don't need DSP power since 2016. If they want to code that plugins right, they will run very fine on Intel's 6th generation and above.

      Which is why UA won't port ALL their plugins over to Spark. I'm so annoyed (as an Apollo and M1-PRO owner). I want to use my $10k worth of plugins on my Mac (fully capable of handling the task better by light years) but they won't do it because we'd all sell our Apollo's and nobody with a new computer would buy one. They aren't going to do this until they figure out a way to not loose hardware sales.
