all of the singers are lgbtq, so its personal. mary lambert did a song with mackelmore. scott and mario jose did a powerful version of 'lost on you' that really showcases what both of them can do vocally. its a special performance.
Mary has a beautiful cover of Rick Springfield's Jesse's Girl. It is a stripped-down, slowed-down melancholy of unrequited love than Rick's version which seems it is about frenetic jealousy coveting another person's love. Worth a listen. Mary is part of the LGBTQ+ community so she speaks as a female desiring another female This song from Katy Perry was used for the 2016 Summer Olympic's theme song in Rio
