- Welcome to my Channel.
I just reached 200 subs, so thank you to my new followers. I hope you will come back.
Today, I play with gel plate transfers. But it didn't work. Any tips and tricks or if you know what I was doing wrong, let me know. I want to master this technique on my Gel Plate.

Couple of suggestions right from the start... The image being as high of contrast as much as possible is ideal white areas full paper and black areas 100% black.. gradient grays are very hard to transfer. The paper you print your laser onto matters, we use the hammermill 32lb to print ours on. On the note of the high contrast is that setting of best quality so it lays down as much toner as possible. After that the paint does matter in the way of high pigment although I have gotten a metallic to transfer and fluid acrylics... so it really depends. Color prints do work it has everything to do with the ink lay down of the photo or image.
Thank you! I will note these suggestions and will try again. I appreciate the feedback so much! And, thanks for stopping by!💗🙏
@@keturahmckitterick9200 Thanks for the shout out! I defer to Mariah and Eddie regarding laser prints. I don’t have a laser printer and only had success with laser prints from Pm Artist Studio - the ones from my local copy shop did not work for me. In terms of magazines, it has to be a glossy image but even then not all work. (I haven’t tried a Bella Grace) You can try one from a Vogue mag as these seem to work pretty consistently. The thickness of paint you applied seemed good (you want it almost see though on the plate) but perhaps you were leaving your images down too long and that allowed the paint to soak into the dark areas of the image (the dark ink is what resists picking up the paint and leaves “the image” on the plate). Definitely important to let the paint dry fully before trying to pick up with another color (although if you are quick enough, you can pick up the wet image itself onto paper without adding another layer of paint). I will try to Dm you a link for my longer video with all my tips and tricks for magazine transfers. Keep playing and having fun!
@devonrex4 thanks so much for your feedback, and I will definitely will try some Vogue magazine images to try as well. I will mess around with my printer and such and try again. I appreciate you stopping by and your support. Love and hugs.💗🙏
