What steakhouse should I try next?
Over cook my $119 steak, it's making a u-turn! Very kind of you.
“I’m good, I could stop eating now.” 1 second later: “alright, desert menu…”
Dessert
Stayed at the MB earlier this year. Looked at the prices of the menu and decided to go somewhere else for the $
Looks like an OK steakhouse, not great but good enough.
Your rib cap was Wagyu so it is going to be more tender and cost more than a standard rib cap.
Still want to try it though.
Thanks for the review.
Wagyu is usually more expensive than non-Wagyu.
"Is this alcohol. No, it's just butterscotch. "😂
thanks for another great video and warning
For that price...i would have sent it back for being overcooked...that was definitely medium well...medium should be fully dark pink...
I stay at Mandalay Bay when in Vegas. The restaurants are not good. I love the pools.
Try Rivea at Delano next door, it's not a steakhouse, but it does serve great steaks. And the environment is MUCH better than Stripsteak
Every time in your food reviews, it's diet start tomorrow. I love it. I've been following you for a few months now, Matthew. I enjoy them.
The ribcap at Oscar's needs no sauce: $62. I would stack that ribcap up against any in Vegas. Been to Barry's and Carversteak. Carversteak was not impressive. Barry's ribcap is $90. However, there's no difference between Oscar's and Barry's. I'll stick with Oscar's for the price point.
Hey brother. Thanks for the video. Was going to try this spot next month for my stay but not anymore. I'll be heading back to Oscar's for the rib cap. Have a great day. 😊
For the price I would have sent the steak back that was far past medium
For Mandalay Bay being a nicer MGM property, and having so many conferences on-site, they truly are lacking when it comes to their restaurant line-up, and especially the quality of the food. You hit the nail on the head with this one.
I had the best scallops I have ever eaten at StripSteak. Loved the potatoes. The cheesecake left in a box because I couldn't finish it. It's just sort of an off the hallway restaurant ...doesn't feel all that special, but I loved the food. Didn't they bring you fancy fries? I don't eat duck but they insisted on taking them back and bringing complimentary regular fries with the tasty steak sauce. Best fries ever. I wouldn't have ordered the delicious mashed potatoes if I knew.
Ok striking that steakhouse off the list
Should have listened to Justin about the beignets 😂
I tried the ribcap at Stripsteak a few years ago and felt the same way. It was fine but I would choose a different steakhouse next time if I had the option. So far, my favorites have been SW and Herbs & Rye.
Hot take… if you go to a nice steakhouse and order any steak and it needs sauce on it to taste good or for it taste better, you either went to the wrong steakhouse or you just don’t like actual steak.
We ate at Stripsteak last year. It was a great experience. I think I had a dry aged ribeye, it was fantastic! Wife had a filet that was great. The service was outstanding. I dont think Ive ever used a sauce with a steak at any steak house in Vegas. Typically the seasoning is good on the steak. Maybe you just had a bad day there. Thats a shame we really enjoyed it there.
Never been there but those Lobster Apps looked interesting. So many Steakhouses to try in Vegas. My top 3... 1. Delmonico's 2. Oscar's 3. Gallagher's. Just my opinion.
1. Oscar's, 2. Barry's, 3. Bavettes.
I have eaten there as I really like the Mandalay complex. However, I agree, I also have to say that Stripsteak is no where near the upper tier of Vegas steakhouses.
MGM gives high amount of food and beverage credit through their rewards program. I’m sure over half of the customers there are basically eating for free.
Those customers typically gamble at least $5k before qualifying for a free meal. Most lose money, that's the reality of gambling. So by no means a free meal.
Mandalay is annoying because most of their bars and restaurants have removeable fees.
I had great service at this place, but they undercooked my ribcap, and it was only decent.
Gotta try the ripcap at bugsy & Meyer's, the best ive had so far
I did a video on B&M! The rib cap was great!
Bugsy & Meyer's was great! I doubled up on it a second night!
$119 ribcap is just ridiculous.
Would have absolutely had the chocolate cake.
So where is the best rib cap in Las Vegas?
Your face said this dessert sucks! Hahaha
Why is the Bearnaise brown?
I was asking the same question 😂
“The sauce enhances it times 7.2” -SayHiToMatthew
Strip Steak is average at best. I found the best item we ordered was the mushrooms. Tried them once, never again, too many other steakhouses you can go to.
What happened to the free duck fat fries?
$342? wooow. Las Vegas is very pricy.
We had a similar experience. Not bad but nothing overly impressive.
Yo. That white piece of linen is a napkin. ;)
Great video. Love your honesty. Overcooked. You should have returned. Same with dessert. Bad recommendation. You didn’t like it. They take it back. Get your chocolate cake. Rule of thumb in steakhouse. If sauces enhance your steak you’ve got a problem. A good piece of meat needs nothing. I think you were a little pissed off. You closed up very fast. Next time returnanything not to your liking. Especially a 119 dollar steak overcooked.
I love a good sauce and I’d go strawberry cheesecake for dessert
The strawberry cheesecake was awesome! Had a merengue shell. Perfect. I love Oscars, but this cheesecake blew theirs away.
McCallan Butterscotch Sauce...yea, McCallan is a scotch
Good meat should stand on its own. It should not need sauces. There are exceptions, prime rib and tenderloin specifically, but even those can taste good if they are prepared properly.
hi matthew mississauga resident stayed at delano hotel next door to mandalay bay great hotel did not have steak but ate at citizens rest.good food had steak at oscars on your say so not bad but we would not go back there again take care and keep up the great insight to vegas .going back to vegas in september hope to see u there
#TrippleDipper
Lobster toast looked great!
I wouldn't get New York Strip at a Steakhouse unless it was via a Porterhouse with the filet! It's more likely to be tender that way. Sides were small and they only served one Serrano chili with the steak and it looked ungrilled!🤔😒
_Strip House_ in Planet Hollywood was better than this place! It was dark though, if you ever film there.
White truffle mac 'N' cheese was the best mac 'n' cheese I've ever had, at a non-Playboy mansion party! EVERYBODY was going for seconds and thirds, it was so good, so I'm interested in that black truffle mac!
I would send that steak that had no flavor back. Too expensive. Should get a great steak
For a 110 dollar steak, pretty good is no good.
nah for $119 that temp needs to be right. That's not close. Sorry but that's the level they want to charge
Lol! Yeah you don't pay that much money and say it was good? It should be delicious !!
Oh yea your steak was cooked too much. Always go med rare. True medium is too much. NY steak will never be as favorable since it's not fatty. People need to start boycotting these prices. Total ripoff.
Steakhouses in Vegas are the biggest scam going right now!!
I'm not too picky, but for over $100, you bet I'm sending that rib cap back.
