Thumbs up if you came here because Nintendo was too fucking lazy to provide some basic instructions outside of three steps on the box and you wanted to ensure you did it right.
OMG where's the long and lame intro? Where's the loud and annoying music?? Why didn't you talk about irrelevant nonsense and about yourself trying to be funny??? Thanks for the simple and quick tutorial!
the console must be switched "on" or on "stand bye" otherwise the joy cons cannot load - if the console is switched off only the console loads and the joy controller remains empty.
Thank you so much for this. I know I'm a late buyer, but I'm finally financially stable enough to look at getting a switch, and how to charge the joy cons was confusing the hell out of me.
I believe the bottom left green icon that lights up on the charging station of the Switch, actually represents a TV. If the light is green, it means the Switch is being broadcasted to a TV.
I want to know if i can charge only one control ik i saw he took out one of em out first then the other but is it still charging the other while he took out the 1st controller?
You failed to mention that the only way the joy cons will actually charge is if the system is charging while on or in sleep mode. I thought when I first got my switch that when I had it completely off and the joy cons were connected, that the joy cons were charging and they do not while off. Just worth mentioning.
Just a heads up to anyone who might have had the same problem, my right joycon de-synced after charging it for 4 hours, making me believe it did not charge. To fix this you need to hold down the sync button on the joycon which is in between the "SL" and "SR" buttons on the joycon
Still watching the video My joy-con not responding checking if it needs to be charged. Will update if works Update: no idea I just needed to press sync button
I just got mine and while I'm pretty hyped to use it with the inheritance switch Bois at work but after seeing there were no signs of a direct connection between the console and joycons I started to worry that Nintendo had, in their infinite wisdom, decided they didn't need chargers. Actually very releiving to see this since there are no instructions in or on the box about this.
The switch actually doesn't charge the controllers. The switch feeds the controllers just enough juice to keep them on. The controllers won't die when connected to the switch, however it will not top off their batteries. You have to have the switch actually in the dock with the controllers connected to it, or you have to have your switch plugged into the wall with the controllers attached. Recap; to get full battery life in the controllers, they need to be attached to the switch AND the switch either needs to be plugged into an outlet or on the dock. Just having the controllers on the switch WILL NOT charge them as the switch only feeds enough power to the controllers to keep them alive. Their battery levels will not raise nor lower.
Had my switch for about a year and never new how to check how much battery I had on my controls. Also i realized that you can play with another set of controllers while you have two controllers charging via console. Then if you check the batter icon like in the video it'll show the battery life of all four controllers and console.
Minor thing u missed, no the joycons don’t charge just by being attached to the console as u showed, when they are attached to the console and u dock the console THEN the joycons charge along with the console via the dock
Thanks for the help! I noticed my joy cons were 100% but better be safe then sorry! Good thing I watched this video now other than later because I would've googled "Joy cons not working" it would've probably not worked. You made it very simple instead of another guys I was watching. He was like connect it to the port then put your joy cons on and he did a lot in the intro instead of getting to the point.
The joy- cons DO NOT charge when only connected to the Switch. You have to either put it in the dock or connect the AC adapter to the switch with the joy-cons in.
It’s so good that the main console charges the controllers I got my first ever Nintendo switch yesterday and wasn’t sure what to do Bcs they were saying low battery, thank u for making this ^.^
thanks for the video! But one question: if i put the joycon with the console and put in the dock, does it charges joycon at the same time of the console? I mean, connect everything and put it on the dock
Was just about to ask the same question. Would have been a more helpful video if he included that part but he only told us how to check the battery life when they are plugged in to the console xD
Thanks so much. My console did not have an instructional manual with such basic info..it shouldn't be up to customers to provide such info. You are appreciated.
If he wants a splatoon 2 Switch console that has green and pink Joy-Cons that's alright. I have a Neon Blue & Neon Red Nintendo Switch with Splatoon 2.
For some reason the green light turns off after a while if I change modes on my tv, does that mean the charging got interrupted? Or is it more likely an issue with the power supply?
Annoyed Pineapple me too I’m trying to Charge my right one but it won’t work because my switch fell from my drawer and the line where you slide in the joy con won’t let me slide it in
does the switch need to be docked for the joycons to charge? or the joycons charge all the time as long as their connected to the device? pls im so confused
