Finally got the chance to make the scones. I doubled up on all the ingredients, added a few more herbs and also used a larger cutter. I'm almost 66old, and this is by far the best, best, best ever cheese scone recipe. 10/10.
Just made these and the texture was perfect. I switched out a few ingredients. I used hazelnut milk instead of whole milk, cream of tartar instead of baking powder, used course black pepper and parmesan cheese instead of red leciester and white pepper. I think next time I will use mozzarella or medium cheddar instead of mature cheese and leave out the tyme and rosemary as it was quite overpowering. Thank you soo much creating the recipe and your bubbly personality really shone through throughout ❤️
Hi Kaiesha 🙂 So lovely of you to give me such a lovely comment. Ooh yes this recipe is very adaptable. You can add your favourite cheese and I also love the scone without the herbs 🌿 😉. Happy Baking and have a wonderful day ❤️🥧
Just completed my second batch of your cheese scones, following your recipe. Perfect both times..love cheese scones will be doubling up next time...thank you
My last place of work had a canteen where without fail every morn I would go b4 starting working to have a warm cheese & onion scone with butter & ‘jam’ … omg … I’ve not had scones like that since … will try your recipe … but will add onion …. Thank you …. & yes …. Mustard is a must ….
Im a new subscriber really enjoyed your video im buying some scales tomorrow as i dont have any and making scones the same day you explained everything very clear im so looking forward to your next video Thank you
Just got my first successful batch of cheese scones out of the oven, many thanks for your easy to understand teaching, will be attempting the fruit scones next 🤗 xxx
Thank you for this recipe. I have been craving scones lately that i always get 2 scones every single day from my uni cafe. I made this today but slightly switch the cheese with garlic and herbs soft cheese (because that’s all i have in my fridge) then add oregano instead. Bake it in the microwave (convection mode) 220 celcius 14 minutes. They turned out so so good and oh my the aroma was fantastic 😋
Oh thanks Alison, I'm doing well thank you and hope you are too xx Let me know if you do make them - and send me some pics via facebook or ]instagram. Have a great day xxx
Am certainly going to give this recipe a bash they look really delicious. One possibly silly question regarding the mustard though. As I have the dry mustard how much should I use, would it still be 2 heaped teaspoons? I don’t want to muck them up on first bash 🥴. Thank you so much
Hi Marion, add One and a half teaspoons of mustard powder to your dry ingredients (into flour). Please come back.amd let me know how they turned out. Happy scone making ❤️🥧 xx
@@MysteryBaker Thank you so much for you reply, as I could’t wait to try your recipe and I had both ready made and dry mustard so ready made it was. (Patience not being one of my virtues so to speak.) They turned out huge 😂. I took a photo of them, I’ll try and upload them but not sure how. Since then I made a second batch using a smaller cutter which gave me more scones as I only managed 6 first go. Either way they are delicious and as you described - quick, easy and very tasty. Thanks once again. Now to try & upload …
@@marionhoadly7300 Absolutely brilliant Marion, try finding me on instagram my name is mysterbakerx and you can send pictures via Instagram message. So glad you enjoyed following my recipe and method 😀 😊 xx
Hi Andre, I have to be honest, I've not baked in air fryer before. Try 8 minutes but to be honest, the oven ones don't take that long either and I can definitely say, they turn out wonderful that way xx
Another little recipe to add to my book. Only one issue...Why do the OP's always always always waffle on and on and on. Please. Less chitchat and more great baking. ;-)
Hi Charlie, I do my tutorials for beginners so I probably do go on a bit! 😲 If OP means old pensioner ha! Well I'm not quite there yet! Let me know how it went, if you do decide to try this recipe 😋 x
LOL. No. Op means Original Poster ( you ) You remind me of my Big Sister, she repeats things over and over. She doesn't bake though. Your scones had better be good with my spicy tomato soup, I'll be having later today...( I'm sure they will be ) ;-)

I like a pinch of paprika instead of pepper. It's something my Nana did many years ago. She cooked them in a wood stove. Yum.

Cayenne pepper works well too with cheese. Also Stilton cheese is another level x
Absolutely Cathy, part of the enjoyment of baking is being experimental and adding your favourite ingredients to elevate the recipe xx
Will try with Stockton sounds right up my street and maybe a bit of fig chutney on them as it goes well with stilton

Well done in American recipes on RUclips they use tablespoon’s of baking powder a ridiculous amount
So pleased you liked my tutorial 😀 😊 xxx
Have you thought of paprika instead of mustard?
Oh yes I'm sure that would taste lovely too, will definitely add that bite to the mixture xx
Mystery woman, we have a mystery, there is no cheese in the written recipe. Is that why they're easy? ( chuckle )
Haha, well spotted!! Proving people do read the recipe in description box! I've updated it now, so thanks for letting me know 🥧🥰🥧🥰
