I remember setting foot in the guardhouse entrance corridor for the first time and heard this. A very unsettling piece of music for a very unsettling building, complete with giant spiders, bees and a huge mutilated ivy plant. Our task in the guardhouse? To find the Helmet Key.
This is probably the most unsettling part of RE1 to me. The mansion is pristine, put together, it just looks like a normal house, save for the zombies of course. In the Guardhouse, you see the aftermath of people being attacked and killed by Plant 42, Neptune, and others. You see a man’s final letter before he ultimately takes his own life in a very painful way, there’s files and personal effects scattered everywhere, you can just tell something awful happened. This music perfectly encapsulates that dread. It’s a fearful, droning melody that just screams “a tragedy occurred here”. It makes your skin crawl, it’s uncomfortable, and it makes you feel watched more than ever.
When I got here I was like oh hell no I ran right into the safe room. The zombies can't go in here.🤔 That s*** changed when they start doing other f****** resident evils This is still one of the most scariest Themes you can actually hear.💯
The day I heard this tune the first time (during my first playthrough of RE) I fell in love with it, in this weird way. As unsettling as it is, it has this enticing flavour to it. It's good to know that other people sense the same.
Man, I loved this tune SO much in the first RE game. The two songs that stood out to me in this part of the game were this song and the guardhouse theme. While I liked the guardhouse theme, I loved this track. Then, when they remixed the soundtrack for the Gamecube version, things flip-flopped pretty radically. I fell completely in love with the guardhouse theme in that game, but felt they completely butchered this theme in the remake. It didn't have nearly the same level of creep-factor as the original. But, hey, that's just me.
Love this game to pieces. Such spooky yet relaxing music. I could imagine Chris quietly looking through a closet full of naughty stuff and finding an old sexual love letter hidden in a coat pocket.
Totally the best ever soundtrack in the entire game and all Resident Evils to come. The only one that gets close to this purrfection is the escape theme in Resident Evil 2 Remake (before the final Thairant fight).
Nah, it was still scary but it was more like "Modern" scary which the old RE games were "Retro" scary (it's like even though not having enough graphics, it would still leave us scared to shit) it's hard to explain but it really just comes down to preffered taste. I like em both tbh
It's one of those games, you want to go back in time and play again as if you've never played it before.

One of the best musics of Resident Evil 1.

I've always wanted to hear this theme redone with a live orchestra.
Seach for the remix of this track.
We got to the ROOT of the problem!
It's REALLY powerful!
@@visionist7WHAT THE HELL IS THIS PLACE ANYWAY??!!

Memories
Spiders!!!
Nopes!
Bees!!
Tune is perfect. Should not be touched. Can hear every "note/tune" wave
Thanks for the upload.
the depressive synth used in this version gives it a 1980's Friday the 13th sound to it
Or a neo drug noir of the 1980s
Walking into the guardhouse is kind of like entering 2021 thinking things can't get any worse
....like we cant trust no one to help us. All the politicians sold their soul. We are all alone with the creator.
mates im still playing this my life is my childhood memories for life mates
This one always gives me the creeps, but in a very good way.
Why did the director's cut have to redo the entire soundtrack? I really like the original soundtrack better than the director's cut.
I don't like direstor's cut themes))
B.D. Cooper me too.
Your talking about the USA trumpet version the stupid version while the Pal directors cut version is much better
Some of the DC tracks were good, though. Both the first floor themes come to mind.

You are right. The original is the only scary Resident Evil, apart from maybe Code Veronica and its the music that makes it that way.
Wtf are you smoking? The remake soundtrack make this piece even BETTER. Way more horror elements than the original

That's oddly specific lol
Alright mate....

Plant 42 mixing chems. Such a great puzzle.
Im making my own version of a similar puzzle in Mirror of darkness game.
Indeed the easiest part of the game, the music is just great to set us in a infected place, abandoned to strange monsters in the deep night.
Still why can't figure out why some people don't like this game.
The graphics aren't new enough? Idk, but one thing I do know is that people are dumb, and can't appreciate nice things.
Back when RE were truly scary (7 is on the way back to scary)
Yeah, it was getting to much like Call Of Duty. and too much secret agent stuff in it.

what an amazing theme. you dont even get tired of this mysteriously gloomy theme.
creepy
No other soundtrack in the world sounds as evil as it does at 0:10 and 0:31
I used to like it because it reminds me of my grandparents house , but it's creepy now when I'm hearing it...
Anyone else used to troll the spiders around the billiards table?
Xasthur intro sound like this
Sick which one
The only theme creepier than this in the original RE1 was the mansion theme.
