This music really tells you you’re nearing the end of the game and it’s impressed you’ve made it alive to see a high tech lab. Most others have perished along the way, but you’ve really gotten into the depths of this crazy place and now you have the privilege of being in this top secret area. Amazing atmosphere.
Indeed, the RE1 OST really speaks to you, each tune really reflects the area you're in and the psychological status of your character, the feelings they've put into this game, for ho much I love the RE2 and 3 OST they were more action movie tunes.
@@chojinkid That's kind of unfair, tracks like Front Hall, First Floor, 2nd Floor, Basement, Underground Lab really do the same thing, that's just to name a few
Interesting that you mention "high-tech lab". That´s what I didn´t like about the original 1 remake: The lab was not high-tech, it looked like House on Haunted Hill style and 1920ies sanatorium design, and no longer like the rotten modern lab the original RE1 Director´s Cut offered. The 1920 sanatorium style is awesome and is perfect for games like Dishonorered 2 Addermire, but this design and artstyle does not really fit into Resident Evil 1.
@Khan Afridi yes but if you remember the letter where we found the code, Ada was the girlfriend of a scientist called John. In Re2 Ada Wong was sended by Wesker to take G Virus, but she will never confess that, just saying she's in the city to find her boy.
When I hear this music, it reminds me of entering the labs deep down into the bowels of this horrifying mansion and all you can hear is this "UUUUUUUUUH" by those zombified scientists and they start crawling at you........ Legendary game! It still haunts me today! Goosebumps!
@@Masamune364 Well, yeah, it´s a looooong time ago that I´ve played this game but I think they were naked! ^^ At least one good thing of the T-Virus: You don´t loose your sex-drive :D

Anyone remembering the unique inhumane scream of these rotten lab B3 zombies in the original and Director`s Cut version of this game? I miss that in the remaster.
I don't get why they took away the naked/test subject's zombies from the labs from the remake, they were such an iconic part of that place... With those ticking footsteps, the weird moanings, as if they were crying for help, but at the same time tough as hell and more dangerous than any other undead, and they would respawn a few times... The Rebirth is a masterpiece, but in some ways the original from 1996 remains unmatched, certainly in the soundtrack's department and the B3 labs...
Yes, they were horrifying. Those moans haunted me for hours the first time I ever heard them. Coupled with this music, the b3 lab was probably the scariest part of the original RE. For me, anyway.
No only the V-acts respawan (or better: reanimate) in RE1 remake. The lab zombies just disappear after defeat in the original Resident Evil Director´s Cut. And these iconic lab-zombies "uuuuuuuuh" simply no longer exist in the remake, they were exchanged with just regular boring zombies like the ones from the mansion but with lab coat. Very sad to see such an iconic RE1 part missing in the remake.

Man, I wasn't expecting one of my favorite musics on GameCube to sound almost as good on the OG PS1, I just thought they remade the musics from scratch for the most part.
No absolutely not, the same director that made the original one made the remake as well. He basically redid the music of the old one but made it fit the darker tone of the remake. You should give the original a playthrough but avoid the “dual shock directors cut version” and just play either the original RE1 or the RE1 Directors Cut(non dual shock) version. The dual shock version actually has different music altogether because it was redone by a different composer. The music is pretty terrible in that one! But DO NOT underestimate the original RE1. It has cheesy voice acting but it has a more bright looking horror that gives it its own signature while still using the music of the remake. They’re both masterpieces but few people can see why the original is an absolute masterpiece despite having more dated graphics and mechanics. Both absolute masterpieces though!!!
+Firgasz They are currently working on a Remake of the classic year 1999 Resident Evil 2 remake :) can`t wait to play this. Guess they have noticed that EVERY Resident Evil after RE3 - Nemesis was nothing but complete action and shoulder-cam-constant-gunfiring and button smashing and quicktime eventy shit, and not scary and exciting anymore and no more survival horror.
Julia Shenandoah I know, me too! But RE2 was published in 1997 ;) Resident Evil 3 Nemsis was released in 1999. Re 5 & 6 were so disgusting. No Resident evil anymore, call of duty with horrible graphics and no atmosphere.
RE2 was released/published in 1998. The scrapped original version of RE2 (which eventually became known as RE1.5) was scheduled for release in 1997, though.
+DeimosComaBlack 1.5 actually looked quite promising by the gameplay, it even had better animation and had zombie hordes. Resident evil 2 is still the greatest though. Resident evil 1 was scarier though and you had to carefully choose the right route and plan or else you would run into narrow corridors with like 3 zombies and have no ammo. The knife was terrible.
The knife in RE1 does around the same damage as the Beretta so it's actually pretty useable as an early-game way to save ammo on lone zombies, especially on Chris' scenario (moreso in Director's Cut). It's absolutely godawful in RE2 though, utterly useless damage against zombies and everything else is just too damn fast to bother with. Best pre-RE4 knife is in Code: Veronica though. That thing is monstrous.
Why is one of Chris’s eyes going downward while the other looks normal? I’ve always wondered that. Even his ears are extremely low but somehow it works.

Nice study music.
If my memory is correct, is this the only area in the classic RE's up to Code Veronica that had respawning zombies?
They don't respawn, kill 12 and they're finished. Couldn't load more than 4 onscreen.
