- Dear friends, this is my second time to the beautiful city of Hefei. This city is an old city in central China with a lot of traditional beauty. I hope you like such a quiet and beautiful city.

Hefei, the capital city of Anhui Province, is located in China's central region. Lying between the nation's two primary rivers (Yangtze River and Huai River), Hefei is located to the west of the Yangtze River Delta.
Southwestern Hefei is home to the nation's fifth largest fresh water lake, Chao Lake. The city's physiognomy is heterogeneous and is comprised of downlands, hilly uplands, low plains, and waterbodies. Its terrain slopes from the northwest to southeast, and its surface elevation ranges between 15 and 80 m.
Featured as a humid subtropical climate, Hefei has four distinct seasons and an annual average temperature of around 16 °C.
A city with over 2200 years of history, Hefei was still a small city with a population of only around 50,000 people in 1949 when the People's Republic of China was established. By the end of 2016, however, this city had grown into a metropolitan city with a permanent resident population of 7.87 million, covering a territorial area of 11,408 km2.
In 2014, the State Council positioned Hefei as a sub-center city of the Yangtze River Delta city-region, which meant that Hefei would be included, along with eastern coastal cities, such as Nanjing, Hangzhou, Suzhou, and Ningbo, in the Yangtze River Delta's national-level strategy pertinent to city-region coordination (Fig. 3).
Being the political, economic, cultural, science, and education center of Anhui Province, Hefei has won many honors, including the National Garden City, the National Sanitary City, and the National Excellent Tourism City.
Hefei is also known as the National Pilot City in Science-Technology Innovation and the National Base of Research and Education due to its strong R&D and learning institutions.
Ultramodern factories churn out electric cars and solar panels in Hefei, an industrial center in the heart of central China. Broad avenues link office towers and landscaped parks. Subway lines open at a brisk pace.
Lying between the Yangtze River and Huaihe River, Hefei is the capital city of Anhui Province and the best place to know about the brilliant Anhui culture.
Hefei is the political, economic and cultural center of Anhui Province and has played an important role in commercial transactions since ancient times.
It is a scientific and educational city and boasts of many talents both in the past and present, such as the famous upright officer Bao Zheng in the Northern Song (960-1127) along with the Nobel Prize for Physics winner, Yang Zhenning.
It is a beautiful city with good surroundings - the Huaihe River flows to its north, to its south is Yangtze River, and to its south- east lies the Chaohu Lake with its expansive blue waters.
The city is located in the centre part of East China, and its transportation system is well-developed. With the whole city's transportation system linked by airport, railway and highway, a solid transportation network is at your service. Due to its fast development in recent years, transportation within and around the city is very convenient, especially for tourists.

This video gives me the distinct impression that there are more young people in Hefei than in most other Chinese cities. A quick check on Baidu seems to confirm this. The young folks are drawn here by the city’s High Tech Zone, and Economic & Technological Development Zone (高新技术产业开发区; 经济技术开发区), both of which rank ahead of their counterparts in tech hub Hangzhou. No wonder that I have not seen anyone looking older than myself in the video so far. I do see a lot of kids, who look so thoroughly at ease in the busy public spaces -- and that warms my heart.

Hefei is looking really fantastic. I love how China is building cities in its own image, combining the latest avant garde architecture with traditional Chinese elements. This is so unique, beautiful and absolutely interesting.
I actually particularly like traditional Chinese patterns, buildings, gardens and streets, so I always feel very happy and excited when I see content in traditional Chinese style.
Chinese have mastered the art of urban planning, unlike India which only brags about being a superpower with no real work.
Max! Let the whole world know the splendors of this marvelous country! I love China!

Simply amazing how these cities were built ground up in less than a decade. There's potholes in my town that haven't been patched up in 5 years.
You're very wrong. Apart from Shenzhen city, nearly all cities have thousands of years of history. Take this Heifei city as an example, it has over 2500 years history.

合肥不算是一个非常非常宜居的城市，至少作为一个皖南人，这里没有我家乡的山清水秀。食物也没有那么好吃，水质没有长江水好，气候温度空气质量也比不上南方。但我很爱这个城市，很有包容性，有生活气息，生活性价比高，人们也很友善淳朴。发展迅速，既可以享受新一线城市的便利，又可以没有那么大的压力，非常适合我这种人。😂😂😂虽然我很喜欢我的家乡，但在这里生活很幸福。我很满意。只要有一份体面的工作、有房有车就足以让我很满意了。❤❤非常感谢

Even im Chinese (from hk) usually hefei or anhui isnt on top of my travel list i dont know why. I know hefei has been growing fast economically due to policies nurturing it with high tech industries but this video shows more than i anticipated. It feels very modern, young, energetic and cultural, worthy to be called New Tier-1.
我发现我们国家的省会就没有很差的，看来我国的强省会政策挺成功的，这个政策还是挺重要的，留住了一个省的大部分人才，否则全国的精英都跑北上广深去了。😂合肥，郑州，太原，贵阳。看了 max 视频都是好发达的城市，最近还看了老外拍的乌鲁木齐，城建真的很好，绿化道路都很像东部沿海城市😂，哪天 max 去拍拍，给他们看看咱们新疆多现代化，让他们整天黑我们大美新疆😂。（都不用上自然风光，光是乌鲁木齐那个发展已经是中亚地区头部了🎉）
你别说，全国我就是没去过新疆、西藏和宁夏了，我确实很期待去新疆看看。

I work in an IT company. I have to travel to many cities on business trips to provide technical support for our other branches.

Hello, I really like your videos. Maybe you could sometimes wander to other parts of the town, not just parks, shopping malls and stations. To show some normal streets, because it feels sometimes a little bit repetitive and i am sure many foreigners would love to see some regular streets outside of tourist hotspots. If this is not in line with your brand, maybe just create second channel for this lower quality videos? Just a friendly suggestion. Keep the good work! 😊
Thanks for your suggestion, my friend. Actually, there are many other channels on RUclips that show a lot of ordinary streets. I personally prefer to show something special, so I rarely shoot videos of ordinary streets.

Why do chinese families migrate to other countries having a so beautiful nation and cities like this? I really don’t understand. I’m from Argentina and there are a lot of chinese families in my city and it’s horrible.
Up until 30 years ago, Argentina was much richer and more developed than China. Now it is the complete reverse.
There is no utopia in the world and China has 1.4 billion people. So do you understand?

You say many Chinese are coming to Argentina?? I find that hard to believe BECAUSE -
57.4 percent of the country's population-or roughly 27 million people-are living in poverty. The report blamed rising poverty in part on President Javier Milei's decision to devalue the peso, Inflation Rate in Argentina averaged 190.27 percent from 1944 until 2024, Argentina has defaulted on its debt to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) multiple times - 2001 and 2020. Milei is also very anti China and he refused to have anything to do with "communist" China. WHY SHOULD THEY COME TO ARGENTINA?
BTW the population of Chinese in Argentina is around 300,000. That is very little in a country of 47M. It is only around 0.64%. Similarly, China has a population of more than 1.4 billion people so 300,000 is less than 0.021% (remember many of them were born in Argentina)
