    I remember once finding this fake setup that would install this program that made the colours of the display change often to like hot pink. While doing this it would open the web browser and go to a bunch of random Spanish videos. I don't remember if it did anything else outside of making the resolution be stuck at 800x600. It was cleaned off fairly easily ignoring the resolution issue. The program was inside of a rar inside of another rar file which was password protected.
    I sort of wish I could find this program again for you to test. I remember it claimed to be a full cracked version of some program that converted PowerPoint slides to an EXE.

      @JosephBGAndVE2022 No I didn't, young one. :)
      Seeing that the audience of this guy is mostly compromised of children, and that you're only 13 yrs yourself, I can't blame you for missing a better time in gaming, but assuming that I 'commented on the wrong video' due to your natural lack of knowledge of the context/experience due to your age (thinking that anyone could've been just five years old when any substantial phone game released boggles my mind) is a vast overshot in confidence - but I wasn't different at your age (well, we didn't use random emojis thirteen years ago), so don't worry, kein Ding, junger Padawan.
      But I recommend you to look up Douglas Holmquist's Smash Hit OST on Bandcamp (and maybe check out the game, too - it's great) and you'll understand what I was talking about.

    Tbh avg antivirus is actually decent, although it is from an optional offer so I’d say that one is a virus but it’s real version is good, came pre installed on my computer by the guy who built it. Only issue is it constantly pops up with notifications.

    • @kure1456

      Never ever imitate these videos unless you have a virtual machine and have the knowledge to configure/properly set up one. You might end up having to reformat your whole system if get infected real bad.
      Disconnecting your internet won't help you much. Running the malicious file alone without internet will likely mess up your system and registry files. Worse, you could be hit by ransomware and have all your files encrypted, or a polymorphic file infector could inject its malicious code into your clean files. You may be able to stop certain malware from dropping additional payloads or reaching its C2 servers, but they would still be in your system waiting for you to reconnect.

      @@l1nc6525If you're prepared to lose that PC, by all means go ahead. But still, some types of malware can compromise your router so it is always better to run a VM.
      In fact, even VMs are not 100% foolproof as seen with Spectre and Meltdown exploits in past years. Nevertheless, your chances of encountering such zero-day attacks in the wild are close to 0.

    The new audacity installer scared me, I was not paying attention to the installer itself, only the website I got it from, and the second I opened it that new GUI set off alarm bells and went to task manager and killed it, then went to take recovery actions.
    Looking it up turned out it was the real thing. Its design really signals fake installer.
    Installers in general are just scary. I hate running ones for even well established installers. Was freak out enough to just not install audacity with it.
