Learned this as a kid, when the site I mistyped was a screamer. Harmless, but taught me to be more careful

Usually the domain owners themselves do this to protect their own customers.

reminds me of the time i somehow mistyped youtube and it gave me a tab that threatened to hack me if i didnt close it. looking back, it was more likely just to scare people, but it was still scary for little me tbh. even worse that it made a fake copy of my mouse and hid my real one so i thought i was being held hostage or smth, plus it had really loud sirens and hurt my ears. no i dont remember the typo i had as i closed out of it from pure fear and didnt bother to look back-

One time I misspelled RUclips as “yourube” when searching up the website and it gave me a fake message saying that my phone was hacked or something
i always spell it as yourube by accident
I tried it and it leads to a trojan horse where it asks you to do Windows +R to open run and ctrl v to paste a command to make your device unable to access internet

Not hacked. Viruses would possibly download. People who were born in 2010 can't stop calling everything "scary" or "hacks".
I usually don't have to worry about this because Google Chrome autocompletes domain names for me. Thank god that it does that.

Happened to me the other day. I was going to a website but wrote the domain word in plural when it should be singular. Took to me to a weird ass loading page and didnt take much for me to figure out the mistake and close it afraid of a malware.

I remember when I was young, maybe 5 or 7, and this would’ve been in like 2007-2008, my grandfather was going to put RUclips on his computer to keep me entertained, and he typed RUclips like “yootoob” or something like that, am not certain of the spelling, but the site that appeared was essentially just RUclips but all pornographic videos. It really disturbed me when I was little and I can tell my grandfather was upset about the mistake. I have no idea if the site is still around, I have my doubts but yeah that was pretty wild…

I mistyped a domain once, it's extension to be more specific. Nothing happened from it, don't even remember what it was, guess it was either one of those fake news things or just a different website that used the same name

Mistyping domain names used to be thrillingly dangerous. You could end up on a website with malware, a blank page, fake tech support, an affiliate marketing network, and, of course, porn. Nowadays, you mostly end up on domains that are for sale.
So I learned mistyping a domain is harmless XD

Just basing it on what I saw in this video, I don’t think Web Protection necessarily does anything malicious, it could just be a rather nasty way of getting people to download it.

Impossible to follow, because none of the text is visible, even when the video is viewed at full screen.
And then it seems as if for some of the video you are reacting to something you have only just discovered and you're not sure what to say about it. No. Do your research first, work out what you're going to say, prepare your script and then get on and say it. Don't waste people's time.
