No its actually pretty bad an biased. This guy is a typical arrogant academic that thinks he can judge people after beeing out there 3 days. A guy that thinks he can judge the ocean after 3 days fooling around on the water. THis guy is a joke. This is a mockumentary.
Mako does not mean 'man-eater' in Māori, that would be kaitangata. Mako is merely the southern dialect form of Māngo, a generic term for shark. Mako hold a special place though - not only were they valued for their dried flesh but also for their teeth, as their unique shape made them much valued and sought after ear ornaments.
The demon shark is absolutely NOT a case of mistaken identity. Locals who rely on the sea to earn a living are not going to see a whale shark and mistake it for a megalodon type shark.
The demon shark is nothing more than an alleged (and mostly second hand) fisherman's story to date. Locals are by no means infallible experts who's senses function properly all the time either. For all we know, the witness was the village idiot or some superstitious person. What we need is hard evidence not this mere hearsay to determine if there is any value to the black demon shark story. Up until now, there isn't. It makes far more sense to assume it is a case of mistaken identity with a large white shark, a whale shark or especially a basking shark than to believe a large unknown apex predator is constantly being observed by fishermen but never recorded.
In my country Philippines, Whalesharks are protected animals. Unfortunately if they migrate outside our territorial waters, Chinese people hunt and cutoff their fins and tail.
After my second bottle of tequila I saw a 100 foot black demon shark, but my IPhone was flat and then a huge school of mermaids attacked and ate it before I could get my video camera out of my bag. 🤣
Seeing the seals swimming & their shape etc, its so easy to understand why divers & people who wear the black neoprene suits are attacked by sharks They look so much alike. Ive seen so many wonderful documentaries about how many divers have made friends with a variety of marine creatures & its incredible to watch. Theres an Australian ( i think) Marine Biologist/vet who goes out on calls to disentangle sharks, whales & seals from commercial fishing nets & removing great fishing hooks from the mouths of sharks & other large fish. When people go nuts about the terrible man eater sharks etc the sharks are only doing what sharks do, as nature dictates. Ive seen so many divers remain calm & motionless when the waters are alive with sharks & pat their sides or swim with them Patting their sides & heads & Well, to me, they look like they enjoy it, Human touch is very emotionally strong & most animals eventually learn to trust & accept love & touch shown them. Wonderful film! 🇬🇧👧
WOW! I've got goose bumps. You guys are living the ultimate dream. I'm so jealous, but I'm terrified of sharks like most people. Im very interested in how Forrest puts them in a trance, does it work on all sharks.
awesome documentary but to every documentary remember they only can spend days to a couple weeks doing these documentaries when this Demon shark most likely has migrating patterns which answers why the sightings are few ( other then the fact that the ocean is so massive and only 5 percent explored). You would need to spend every day, trying new ways to monitor the ocean to catch a sight of it which financially, resource wise is not realistic. The methods we think will catch a glimpse of these cryptids are not guaranteed to catch a glimpse of these cryptids. when it wants to be seen its seen..... when it decides to come to surface not on our timing to find it in an ocean barely explored, but on its normal patterns which we have no idea what that is yet.
If it was so lively back then I can't imagine how much further it flourished during the pandemic, I went to Cancun and Playa del Carmen months ago and it was all so full of fish, you could even find schools of Baby fish by the shore! On a different note, I couldn't help but be very peeved by the fact they keep refering to Baja California as just Baja, would have been great teaching moment for the big percentage of people that doesn't know there are two Californias, USA got the one that would be the Upper California and Mexico got the Lower one (very much the translation of the name), plus that region is divided in two North and South (and so the states specify), seems like they were on the south side.
Absolutely stunning video. Thank You for sharing. Whale Sharks are truly the most gentle giants of the ocean. What an amazing trip. Such an abundance of marine life. Wonderful to see life in the ocean as it should be ... unspoilt by human interference. So happy that it's a protected marine park. Thanks Forrest and Team! Stay safe. 💕🐬
Thank you now I know about the black demon shark I might be interested in the story and next time when the movie has been in cinema if you have it upload in the next month love you
There is a video of an interview of two guys spear fishing in Mexico. One guy was diving down when a big great white was coming up and bit the guy in half.
I admire your patience and perseverance to find the "black demon shark".this coverage should be shown or present in national geographicl and Discovery channel.
I remember watching a documentary of a large female great white shark called big blue I think it said it was about 20 feet long! I wonder what happened to it
She's still alive probably pregnant again everytime they seen her she was pregnant they call her the grandmother of the great whites She's also the queen of the ocean
@lorrietsaoussis5168 I know little bit about sharks most sharks get a bad reputation for biting people I think it's just untrue. It's like when jaws the movie released people started hunting great whites almost to extinction now I think they're protected now
These guys: Hey there is a large pack of sharks…! Lets jump in the water… If they asked me? My Call would be: Nah I Will make you guys dinner on the Big ship🤷🏼♂️😅 LOVE freediving But do always have paranoia of sharks… They are awesome and beautyful… But…. Everyone know how important the chef is onboard🤣 Todays menu.. Thai Curry, do you guys want the Red or green version???
Why? It doesn't take a person with a high IQ to become a fisherman. Fishermen are humans, just like everyone else. They have the same senses as everyone else. These senses are unreliable, which is why eyewitness accounts are notoriously difficult. A person's memory is unreliable, People can lie for any number of reasons. People can delude themselves for any number of reasons. So, I wouldn't give mere stories that much credit, regardless of the sincerity of the alleged eyewitness.
@@miniscool5613 memory is more reliable than you think. And fishermen have another mentality. They are stronger than many people. Its very hard work. IQ IS nothing if you don't have fiscal and social skills.
"memory is more reliable than you think." There are plenty of cases and scientific studies to prove it isn't as reliable as you seem to think it is. "And fishermen have another mentality." Meaning? " They are stronger than many people. Its very hard work." What has that got to do with anything? How does that go towards the idea that they are not mistaken with regards to the demon shark phenomenon? Are you actually arguing >Fisherman are more trustworthy than other sources because they work hard
Fishermen are seafarers. And like all sailors, they like to tell "sailor's yarns" as their tales and stories are called in my mother tongue... most sailors still do this today.

I dunno he cant drive a side by side. What he should have done is start looking for the shark where he least expected it to be. The shot with all the fish and the tuna was amazing.
Really enjoyed this documentary, but these guys are nuts jumping into water at night during a shark feeding frenzy. Fortunately nobody was bitten so far from any medical help.
Honestly props to Forrest, he must be the first man alive to make it through an entire giant shark documentary without saying the M word at least once
Marsupials! I hate them too.
Magina?
Migger?
Mega?
That's racist.
Jumping into the ocean at night looking for a large black shark is the most scariest thing I can imagine
Lol "the demon shark is said to appear from below".....................no shit!! i would be very concerned if it came from above.
😂😂
Those fishermen were clearly having fun with you, look at the way they smile when they talk about it...
thats what i was thinking lol. how many times do outsiders come to places like this in search of an old wives tale and pay them for the storys too
@@lacrosseguy108 :D
Right u would think if u seen a shark as big as two boat you'd be scared to even tell the story but they weren't ev3n scared

I just watched a Forrest Gelante series in the past 2 weeks & loved them, I'd never even heard of him before.
After looking for good stuff on RUclips this video was the best thing i could find. What a great documentary.

Spoiler Alert: this film does not contain any images of black demon sharks
It’s probably legends of Orca’s that got passed down. Now they know what they are but keep the legend going.

You need to find out where there is a lot of food but no smaller sharks.. A shark this big would eat only a few times a year (IMHO).

How do the smaller sharks know when a bigger shark is approaching?
They can FEEL it. Their skin has electrical sensitivity.

Hopefully people that can’t get enough of tuna don’t start fishing for them. I used to work on a long line tuna boat.
"as black as the night, often seen at night, skin like ash!" What a load of bullshit 😂

Dont bother watching, theres no demon shark, just a whale shark.
on top of that the demon sharks main sightings were at night...... which is the main time when sharks are on the hunt
😂why tf would you jump in so excitedly?!
Is it just me who wonders why these guys go into the ocean to find a megadoloon , as they themselves are prey?
if youre here to find out if they found the demon shark, they DIDNT so move on...youre welscome
Everything is giant, massive, huge .. what an absolute helmet of a human being this guy is ..
If big daddy shark is in the area of a feeding frenzy all smaller sharks will take off. It’s the hierarchy.
Would be one hell of a big budget movie if you ask me.
