Only issue I have is when I alt-tab out of a game that's full screen to get to my other display, they both go static black and white for ~3 seconds then goes back to normal.
Isn't really a big deal but it is a bit annoying that I have to run all my games on windowless fullscreen instead of normal fullscreen and lots of games get more performance in fullscreen.

Hi Fabio, from Italy. After years of using NVIDIA, I switched to a RX 6600 on a B550 Plus motherboard. With my last update (22.7.1) I had different problems, especially on video codex, on RUclips and other multimedia programs (VLC). Even the use of Chrome used to result problematic, with random reboots. Also, the VGA's fan managing wasn't correct anymore: they often reached 100% randomly. I had to downgrade to version 22.6.1 to be able to use RUclips and the browser again, but the fan managing remains incorrect. Now the fans don't reach 100% anymore but I lost the 0 db function. They are basically active even with 37°C GPU temp. The in-game performances remain good, during Apex Legends I didn't encounter any particular problems. Do you recommend me to do a clean download of the version 22.5.1 (the only available stable version at the moment)? (I don't have any overclocks, I only use the XMP profile for the RAM).

I actually had the same issue with my card (5700xt) I tried re-installing windows, drivers, changed the motherboard, cpu and the power supply and nothing worked, I was still having those random reboots and black screens, oddly enough, what fixed my issue was doing the boot scan and then /sfc scannow command on cmd, said that it fixed some corrupted files and my system has been stable since then, it has been for over a month now and to be honest, I'm kinda scared to mess with anything, haven't updated the drivers nor the windows updates, currently sitting on 22.6.1, I'm just happy where I am at, stable system is all I needed ever since I built the system!

    Hi,
I bought an Asus Tuf Gaming F15 notebook and had bluescreens from early on. I tried literally everything to fix the issue.
I updated the BIOS several times and nothing helped (tried undervolting / overvolting, sfc /scannow, dism, GPU uv, underclocking, GPU VBios change, several power saving options, RAM changes, driver updates, disabling virtualisation, different BIOS-settings).
The notebook would just crash randomly in games or during RUclips / Twitch playback (not during Cinebench or high CPU utilization) with CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT message.
I recently read a reddit thread where someone posted just to reset BIOS to optimized defaults. Since that time I hadn't any issues. But I hadn't very much time testing it since I lend the notebook to a friend. But having played Borderlands 3 with him for over 3 hours where it would crash every 5 minutes or so before makes me optimistic on this.
Maybe you could try loading optimized defaults?
I don't know what kind of magic it was since I've updated the BIOS several times what haven't helped... Wouldn't a BIOS updated reset to optimized defaults?
Idk but Asus doesn't seem to be a good manufacturer so the first intention I got where you said it's a mobo issue was that it has to be an Asus and I was right in this regard. Something is off with their QA. Reddit is full with bluescreen issues with Asus Tuf Gaming notebooks.

Thanks for the video! Good to know a motherboard can be partly faulty and still appear to be working, been banging my head against a wall for a long time thinking I've done something wrong and could not find the cause of reboots and crashes.
I'm fairly certain I have a similar issue with my motherboard, kernel power 41 error, ever since I built the PC. Tried almost everything and now I'm suspecting the motherboard. I have some very suspicious behaviour with a "green" HDD that I use only for storage of music, pictures etc and sometimes it just decides to spin up without me using it and might cause my system to lock up for 5-20sec, even times out the gpu driver at times. Also had some really annoying issues with a wireless headset via it's usb dongle and I just can't charge it via the PC's USB-port anymore so I have to use the wall outlet.
Sigh... I guess I should test unplugging the HDD and then if nothing improves try and send back the motherboard.

It sucks when we don't have enough parts to test things one-by-one, but you should definitely go piece-by-piece and start unplugging everything to see if you find what's wrong, also disable all the unused stuff on the BIOS, also let the PC doing Memtest86+ all night when you go to sleep, if there's any kind of single error, you will have to test the memory dims one-by-one and maybe even the memory slots too (OC on the CPU or ram also can lead to errors).
In case you could never find the problem due to lack of not having extra hardware, if I was you I'd take to the store you bought in case you bought on a physical one and let them diagnose what might be the problem as they might have testing motherboards, testing CPU's... from them.
If you find out it's the motherboard and you still under warranty hell yeah, send it back right away and in case you have no warranty anymore I would recommend you flash the bios again to the latest and check if there's any firmware updates, specially for intel ME. In case it doesn't fix anything I would recommend doing it with a USB bios flash programmer, some times that sucker makes miracles and I revived my old recently bought Sabertooth Z77 twice (first it had some strange problems and couldn't OC and the 2nd time the motherboard was actually completely dead and just gave CPU+RAM problem lights ON and kept restarting with no POST).
If you have intel based system that might even have something to do with the Intel ME, at least I'm tired to hear so many people with problems on it and I indeed had twice though they are a hassle to fix, on mine I fixed my ME by just flashing the original bios with the USB programmer, but sometimes this can't fix it since the intel ME is on a different partition than the bios and the bios usually locks that area so that it can't be written but there's a way to do it with intel official tools.

Used to have no issues playing my favorite games from like 2005 - 2010 on my GTX 970 but since I "upgraded" to this thing, half the games feel like they're running at 30 FPS even when the actual framerate is well over 100 FPS and the other half don't even reach 30 FPS at all.

I've been having some odd issues myself of late since bout March ish or so.. I have a Asus X570 Tuf Gaming Plus Wifi board.
I'll get random crash or hang of programs but the most notable is a fan oddity. I had had my Corsair MagLev fans set to fixed RPM both in BIOS and via software and had all 3 zones tuned to individual speeds that would only raise if temps went into the 70s which almost never happens, I do this so, one the constant sound for me is calming and less bothering than a fluctuating adaptive curve and two when it does do something I notice right away. Randomly they started to speed surge, go up or down, or just turn right off at times then come back on.. I checked cables, power supply, speed pins on the motherboard, fan hubs powered off of Sata (one with my phanteks case, one from cooler master I think). all seem fine. so I kept coming back to is it the PSU cuz thats giving them power, or is it the motherboard which is giving them the speed data.. I still don't know. I did work out a temproary fix by setting them all back to PMW mode and then making a Fixed curve mimicing the speeds I was previously using already.. it feels janky bandaid.. and there are times, usually when in bed across from where my setup is, where I'll still hear very short lived changes. I've no idea what Motherboard to try out if I was to get a replacment.. or a PSU cuz a few calculators once putting in all the fans and all my drives an what not say I should probably use at least a 1KW PSU instead of the SeaSonic 850W I have in there already. stuff isn't cheap in Canada.. the good "entry level" 120 ish dollar boards are 200+ here.. most have said that the Tuff Pro or the refreshed tomahawk Max 570s might be good.. but $$ lol.
I don't have a CPU OC besides w/e boost stuff its doing on its own, I have a undervolt oc using your guide on my 6700XT, ram is using it's built in profile.

My motherboard is a ASUS TUF GAMING B550M. Very informative. Thank you as always. I got an unrelated question though if you or anyone can answer. Has any of you ever had a gpu STUCK into the motherboard? And before someone mentions it, yes, I did detach the screw at the side to remove the gpu. My GPU is completely stuck in the motherboard. If I try to pull a little harder, I'm afraid I might break the GPU or the Mobo.
    Anyway, that's that.
I'm starting to think I might have to contact the mobo manufacturer and see what can be done.

Already did everything recommended by a different video and seemed to help, but just got the same black screen followed by AMD driver timeout error. At least I know the probable cause now instead of trying various things that won't resolve the issue. Wow, I have TUF Gaming mother board (B550) and Radeon 5700XT and I had similar issues (not often, but stutters, really rare blackscreens and not working USB ports - when you plugged something in it didn't recognise that something was plugged), but... it isn't problem with motherboard. It was problem with Logitech drivers which aren't properly prepared for Windows 10/11 and after clean Windows installation issues gone. Now I have new Logitech drivers which are prepared for Windows 10/11 and it seems they're working fine, but I'll never buy any Logitech product anymore, too much stressful, they don't care much about their software. I have headphones and mouse from them; I replaced keyboard with Akko model with hot swappable switches. So such issues can be surprisingly not connected with GPU.

I don't know if everything goes smoothly for you I had problems from 22.6.1 onwards:
In particular serious problems with Windows Sandbox with both 22.7.1 and 22.8.1, it was practically unreadable and unusable, it was all pixelated with rainbow-colored artifacts, I thought it was a Windows 11 bug (fresh install done in mid-June, in fact I didn't believe it much) ...
Every now and then I had a few freezes and reboots, or the screen suddenly went gray. Since microsoft decided to remove the BSOD from w11 I hadn't thought about reading the logs with whocrashed. At a certain point I couldn't stand it anymore, I used whocrashed and I saw that the error was related to the video hardware (unfortunately I no longer have the error code but I proceeded to report it via adrenalin). So I decided to try to remove the drivers with DDU in safe mode and do a clean installation of the latest Stable (of May) .. All problems solved, no more freezes and pure sandbox works well.
    Tradotto:
Tutti i problemi risolti, niente piu freeze e pure sandbox funziona bene.

And the issue I have (which I can't replicate since it is so random) is black screen. All the sudden, the computer just goes black screen and I can hear the GPU cranking fan speed to 100%.
USB seems to lose power when that happens too since keyboard and mouse lose their RGB.
At first I thought it would be dirty power. So I bought a new Kolink G-FM PSU (B-Tier on tier list) and a surge and spiker protector. Didn't fix the problem. ~Although voltages seem better~~
Went all default when it comes to settings. No OC, just XMP profile. Problem still persists.
