I could listen to Greg sing all day ! Loved his voice...for YEARS ! Ever since my brother brought his Album home... He worked security at one of his concerts. I was 15 years old. That was 1975. Wow ! 😊
R.IP. Brother Gregg, you were the best, your music will live as long as people can hear, I was fortunate to meet him at the Big House in 1973, At A Party, What A Night, Cousin Figel
Goddamn. That voice is a once in a generation type thing… Plus, I absolutely love the line “Though I might steal your diamonds, I’ll bring you back some gold…”
You're gonna think I'm full of crap. I grew up listening to this. Dad always jammed it. Anyways...I know someone who is closely related to the Tolers. I just found out very recently. He told me about his family and the whole story. Then he said "you know the song 'I'm No Angel'....? I'm like "uh...yeah" It was a neat story. Freaking blew my mind.
Diaz is incredible with his guitar 🎸 😍 Greg is fantastic. I saw the Allman Brothers way back in the 70's when they were thriving. What a great show! A $20 ticket back then thats all it cost. We had great seats too . Now I 'm 66yrs old in 2024, but Denny Diaz and Greg Allman really lite up the music.
Did you guys watch real closely to this video. This man is running this outboard playing two instruments and singing so easily he's the most talented artists that ever lived
I am so lucky I had the privilege to see the Allman Brothers live! At the saenger theater in New Orleans Louisiana! At that time, Dwayne was the only one missing along with Barry Oakley! It was fantastic!❤❤❤
@@mariaslavinski1588 The Allman Brothers were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame the FIRST year of their eligibility for it. Can't really think he "wasn't recognized". Just sayin'...
@@MDavidG1 maybe I didn't make myself clear enough but way back in the 70, on through hey I was a huge fan and mean no disrespect they were definitely an awesome group till this day I still listen to Gregg Allman brothers my fav I'm no angel n midnight rider just always felt they deserved more recognition than what they received in their hey day n yrs I no that got inducted into Hall of Fame!!!!!! So don't be upset or trying to make me feel like an idiot but even talk show hosts felt same as I if you don't feel that way cool it ok my opinion and certainly yours it's all good 😊
After a week out of town my husband brought back CD of " I'm No Angel"! That's all we needed to hear! One of our greatest nights. I still think it is one of the greatest rock songs of all time. THANKS GREGG! ROCK ON
"So you find me hard to handle Im easier to hold". "So i might steal your diamonds I'll bring you back some gold". Genius lyrics describing why my East Tennessee green-eyed Saxon girl still loves me so much...I'm a bad-boy but a good Man. ;)
I'll be damned if I didn't wake up with this song first thing this morning! 7/26/2023! I had no idea why? I absolutely loved the Allman Brother as I am a true southerner. Sometimes life can bring us some strange message from somewhere and just makes me wonder? Not that this made me feel special, but why this song after growing up hearing them? Makes me wonder.... really makes me wonder??!!
It's a coincidence in the true sense of the word. "TO COINCIDE". Two things that were always meant to fit together. That's rare to actually get a chance to see it in your own life. Gotta be pretty special when it's you that notices rather than someone from the outside. Best wishes. You got some destiny in you. Hope it shows up for you
That guitar solo was perfect for that song anymore would’ve been too much any less would not have been enough very impressive And I’m usually a heavy metal guy But I have always loved the old brothers since brothers and sisters … one of the first albums I bought with my own money in 1977 when I was 14
I'm not here after the Rogan podcast. I'm here after finding out a guy who I've worked with for 4 years is closely related to the Tolers. Blew my freaking mind. He said "you know the song 'I'm No Angel'...?" Me: "Uh yeah." He proceeds to tell me the whole story about his family. Meanwhile I'm thinking "holy shit...he's not shitting me. And I'm kinda mad he didn't tell me this 4 years ago."!
Only truest of rock n' roll "ROCKSTARS" like Greg Allman can fake adjust the microphone the way he does? Why does he do it, you ask? Because he's Greg Allman...man.
It's also live no enhancement at all. I can understand everything he's singing perfectly. The band and music is spot on. Smashed or not that's pretty good. One of my favorite videos. Lexington Law band does a pretty good remix of this tune but it's not the legendary Midnight Rider! R.I.P Mighty warrior!
Yeah he was heavy drinking around this time , still sounds incredible though and Dan toler the guitarist he has here is an amazing player !! Melody for days
Had so much fun when I met you in my town of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. At the holiday inn. I took you with me too. The after hours club there In Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. You had awesome Night and The club Was glad to meet you. I got an awesome view of your tour bus. And in invitation to come see you In florida how long was your Phone Number. May you rest in peace. Gone, but never forgotten. Your son will always carry your name. Legends never die.❤
Well, I guess that explains it. I was looking for this song in my massive collection, but I was looking under Bruce Springsteen, which I still have yet to find it. Then I hit the web to find what album and well, Gregg Allman is what I probably should have been searching. They both did this song, but I forgot how alike they sound. Damn good song though by any generational standards! Cheers 🍻

Heard him first at age 16. Saw them live only once.
That's my uncle Bruce playing bass. This is my first time ever seeing this video and I'm 40 now. Crazy.
He was jammin' out,man!
@ShellMichael-y5n very cool!

Sorry for my ignorance, but exactly where was this in 1973? You met the band there??
Bless you as well for taking the time to share. I keep forgetting he's not earthbound any more. More's the pity.
Saw the Brothers Allman several times in concert, some of the best music of the 70's
A great song by Gregg Allman.
Tony Colton and Phil Palmer composers n 1st recorded by Bill Medley of the Righteous Bros. 1982
I know he's in heaven jamming with the angels😢
Thanks for the great memories Gregg 💙🎤🎹🥁🎸🙏

Well, Greg is amazing but there this guy named Prince

And he’s clearly smashed… even more impressive. I can forgive the liquor induced slurring as long as the band is tight.

my all time favorite band.... Thanks for many decades of great music!
