Google needs to add a 'default' profile option so that when the tv is turned on it defaults to the kids profile. Right now when i turn off the tv at night it is still on my profile when the kids turn on the tv on the morning. It is a pain to remember to switch to kids profile when half-asleep

Google TV is garbage for parental controls

Yes yes yes! I can’t believe Google would be so stupid to overlook this or not even care about the loophole! I’ve been considering dumping chromecast for something else for this very reason!

Yeah this is really weird.. tried to find any option for this.. when my son starts the tv i want hes user to activate. Ruins the purpose of child usage if it always starts with adult user .. useless

Can you make the kids profile the default profile?
That is, when the TV/Chromecast is turned on, the profile that comes on by default is my child's. Is that possible?
And thank you for your video tutorial.

Any idea how to get the parental controls to actually monitor time watched for youtube kids? I have 2 nearly identical youtube kids apps, i think one is marked as the qndroid tv version. it doesn't matter how i mark them or if i uninstall either one, the time watched is never restricted.

You have to purchase (pay) the shows for kids?. or they offer free? (vod style?)

But my kids can select my account when switch on the TV. It is the poorest system on TV.

Solution to the problem most people are having (the lack of an auto log off). Before turning off the tv, switch to the kids profile.

That is more a work-around than a solution. They really need to make an auto-log off. It should take a programmer there maybe a day to program.

Google need a kick up the butt! They need to have chromecast boot into the kids profile on startup! It baffles me how they hadn’t implemented this already! Perhaps Google staff don’t have kids 🤷

What happens if I turn off the TV, wants to enter the pin or goes directly to the adult profile, and if in case the adult once uses the TV forgets to put it back in child mode, once he turns the TV back on he will return to adult mode without the PIN request?
