    so I have noticed a huge difference in cartoons and anime cartoons over exaggerate a hell of a lot of stuff and anime is really realistic with movements do anime animators ever use like squash and stretch? is it like just a one frame and done kinda thing ?

    • @Silver01Son
      @Silver01Son 7 лет назад +62

      The Energetic Turtle it's really just depends on the animes style. some do use squash and stretch ex: (mob psycho 100 and one punch man).

    • @Derpity
      @Derpity 5 лет назад +26

      I mean naruto uses a lot of smear frames but that’s different than squash and stretch

    • @azurenewborn1008
      @azurenewborn1008 3 года назад +8

      Yeah but I still think they use a little and it depends on the art style. But I don’t really know

      Anime is kinda semi realistic, so the animation principle is kinda subtle. Not too much, and also not lacking.

    I'm starting to study your animation tutorials because I want to try to make my own scenes for a fighting game I want to make in the future, the animations I want to make are going to be examples of how the fights would play out.

    i remember when i subscribed to you and u then had 1500 and u said il always be in your heart and actually your videos helped me make my sprites(characters) smoother i made a animation that a character drops a mask and its smooth

    Have you done any tutorials on finalising a scene. I'm good with roughing out a fluid animation but then when it comes to the colouring and cleanup, I really struggle.

    • @HowardWimshurst
      @HowardWimshurst  8 лет назад +7

      i've done one or two. Look back to some of my older tutorials and you will find them. I could make some more but the truth is that I haven't fully coloured or cleaned up animation in quite a long time. I mainly just take things to the rough stage.
      That isn't to say that I don't know how. I just don't have many examples from this year of me doing it. It might be a little while before I fully render something but when i do I will document it for you

    though I went to 3D animations rather than the 2D styles you seen before hand, this really helpful and can maybe be incorporated into my new videos.

    If I have two characters that are battling and the camera is moving around my characters, how would I animate the background? Is there a certain trick? How do I do that?

    This is a really well thought out tutorial. I found it very helpful due to the nature of my animations. Thank you very much for all the help :D... btw how do you compose bodies so quickly?

    • @HowardWimshurst
      @HowardWimshurst  8 лет назад +1

      +Yukii Teru thanks Yukii! I will make a tutorial on how to compose bodies quickly! Thanks for the suggestion.
      The fastest way to learn how to draw bodies quickly is to do timed life drawing sessions. This is where you are timed to draw the human body (from reference) in a very short time. The quickest life drawing sketches can take 30 seconds or less but normally I am more comfortable with 2 minutes. this forces you to communicate the human body in a very efficient way.

      if you have the oppurtunity learn the basics you can tell your friends and you might even find a passion.

    I'm confused... I downloaded the demo files and there is a ton of stuff in the timeline that I don't understand at all. I don't remember seeing you go over a lot of stuff that's in there. Have you made a video that went over this stuff step by step? If not, would you ever consider showing the basic process of how/when to use the different things in the timeline?

    • @HowardWimshurst
      @HowardWimshurst  8 лет назад +1

      +Ian Dig i will try to make a demonstration of the things in the timeline. In the meantime I suggest you watch my Flash basics tutorial which might clarify some of what you will see on the timeline. you can access the tutorial in the member's section

  • @HollowfiedMajin
    @HollowfiedMajin 9 лет назад +5

    Could you just set the frame rate to 12, so you dont have to double frame? or would that mess up the framing of the animation?

    • @HowardWimshurst
      @HowardWimshurst  9 лет назад +10

      +HollowfiedMajin you can set the frame rate to 12 but then you don't have the option to put animation on singles when you need to so why would you want to? There are times when I want to ramp the frame rate up to 24 to give a certain effect

    • @ColinJWiens
      @ColinJWiens 9 лет назад +2

      +HollowfiedMajin plus you can intersperse triple-frames and sometimes double-frame two different characters on alternating frames

    • @walkjd1
      @walkjd1 7 лет назад +5

      HollowfiedMajin it depends on what your trying to achieve. does the movement require fluidity or speed? less frames for speed, more frames for fluidity. they are also interchangeable. it all depends on the illusion and what you are trying to achieve.
