Awesome Henry! We're happy to see you genuinely enjoy our new gloves. Cheers mate! :-)
You know. When I'm going through hard times, ie now. Your work is such an uplifting escape. Know that you do more than provide amazing photography!
Got to agree with you about the 24-200mm. Ive just been in Iceland with very windy/sandy/snowy conditions. Not having to regularly change lenses in such conditions, yet still get sharp photo’s makes this a fantastic travel/general purpose lens. Keep up the great video’s
Love your enthusiasm! “Love this planet” - might not have one for much longer 😢😳
I not often comment, but I watch almost all videos. It's always a pure breath. Your passion is so communicate.
Thank for sharing. I hope I'll meet you one day. Maybe in august during my trip to Scotland.
That wide angle shot with the lake and the mountain ❤
The "KISS" principle has a lot going for it. And it keeps the weight down too! Another excellent video. Cheers. Ken
Every shot was a gem.
'I love this planet', love it
Love the Hardwick beanie,oh! and the images.....
I will never get up the steep hills but i dont have to henry as you do it for us great shots will look forward to next thursday .
Another uplifting adventure! Great images! Good info! Thanks!
As ever, that, was EXCELLENT and now I'm off over to FaceBook to like etc there
AMAZING. Great photographs all the way through.
Great photos Henry. You stuck lucky with the conditions!
Great shot at the 8:45 mark!
Hi Henry,
Wow what a fantastic location.
You absolutely nailed the shots they were brilliant.
I agree with you :-) I also have the 24-200. I also have the 24-120 and the 100-400 and still use my 24-200 when i want to travel light or hike :-)
Class video Henry, brilliant stuff as always
Thank you. 👍📷😎
Thanks good info.
look forward to next week.
Out with the campervan then. More great stuff Henry.
Agree entirely, Henry. I'm using the Sony 16-35 and the Tamron 28-200 on my a7rii. Pretty much all I ever need.
By gum young Henry lad you do get to some cracking locations. Superb images as per. Following on Instagram/FB!! Got to get "with" these social media machines I guess. Looking super cool in't new hat 😉
Classic Henry Turner video just crammed with enthusiasm.
Fabulous first image, loving the contrast between land and snow. For me, it is the ruined building which makes the shot.
All the images were full on top drawer, Henry.. Thank you for another Cumbrian adventure..
Great stuff (as always). Thanks for sharing !
Re GPS ... exact same feelings .. Loved VR ... Disliked Outdoor Active now use OS Maps but use it on a TwoNav GPS.
Another great video Henry love it
beautiful pictures
really good video !!
amazing picture´s
At 13:34 I thought you were going to grab a shot of the mountain behind the lake with the boulder in the foreground.
I find the last photo very beautiful.
First thing I do when I start one of your videos is give it a thumbs up, then I can relax and enjoy the wonderful images you create - the last in the clip was particularly captivating. I wonder - given I'm lousy at composition so have to ask - in the first with the ruin, did you exclude the small cascade that we saw because it would have been a distraction? At around 5:52 it looked like it would be in the frame at your location - or maybe it was just the perspective given by the video camera? (At 6:22 it seemed the cascade would be clearly *out* of the composition.)
Thanks Michael!! I did exclude it deliberately actually yes, exactly like you said I just thought it wasn't necessary
@@HenryTurnerphoto: Thanks for taking the time to reply. PIt seems I'm learning, and perhaps my "composition blindness" isn't a terminal condition after all!
Beautiful scenery. While I try not to put gear first, gear is still really important. I think liking and knowing the gear you use, can improve your creativity because you won't be struggling with the camera. While I'm a photographer on a stricter budget and can't really afford a camera of the Z7's caliber, I have been really happy with the Canon 5D mark ii that I currently use. It's a pure joy to shoot with and still holds its own pretty well.
I have a kind of similar setup. I'm on Sony and have the Tamron 28-200 and it has quickly become my most used single lens. There is an excellent 17-28 f/2.8 available from Tamron as well but I went with some primes for the wide end because I am doing a lot of Astro photography lately. I almost always carry my super budget 20mm Tamron for my second lens for my light setup. The 28-200 is amazing for almost everything but it isn't quite up to astro. My astro lenses are almost all giant, heavy, cumbersome beasts and I always pre plan my shots so I only ever carry 1 or 2 plus I always take that same 20mm and a light 35mm f/2.8 for taking "wide" shots.
Top video once sgain!!!
Thank you for bringing the joy every week. I love the way you love this planet. The created world is totally awesome. Another great adventure. It must have been freezing up that fell. Glad you had the gloves and your jet boil.
Howdy from your friend Sean in Atlanta! I love, love, love that Tarn with the mountain bowl! But I am still laughing at you bowing down for us to see it! Haha, that was a cool move! But, the finished image was stunning! I hope you know how fortunate you are to live in such beautiful countryside!
Facebook, huh? I’m a huge FB addict! I’ll be there right after I post this. Good luck on your Bluebird and your blue acorns in all that snow! None of that here in Atlanta…
Thanks, Henry!
Sean
Have the same set up but just purchased the 20mm f1.8 for astro.
Great photos great videos 👏👏
How do I look into your one to one sessions pls ??
Nice video Henry and great images. The last one was a belter mate, but the hat, sheep on your noggin, how cool is that.
Really like your choice of music in this one!
I've used back country navigator xe for ages now, wouldn't be without it, any part of the UK you want you can download the 1:25000 map for, no Internet required, can track your routes and follow pre loaded routes also. Fantastic photos as always😃
Love your enthusiasm! “Love this planet” - we might not have one for much longer 😢😳
Hi Henry Just Brilliant. I must get myself up that way soon. You have made me miss it so much.
Love the beanie! I agree on the lenses, they are all you need for stunning landscapes. Love the images
The composition with the snow cap in the background and structure in the bottom right is about as 3D as you can get. Very pleasant and easy photo to consume. Love it.
Another great hike. While they were all good I believe you saved the best for the last. Well done!
Some stunning shots once again!
Wonderful shots of another epic journey Henry! Beautiful picture’s 🥰🤗🙌😍😻♥️👏🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌👏👏👏👏♥️love your hat too! 🤩😻
Hi Henry, another grand day out and thanks for sharing. You need to find a way to bottle that Henthusiasm mate, you'll be minted! Nice nod to old faithful, the D7200, drowned but not forgotten!
Your lens perched on top of the camera like that gave me anxiety ha! Love the lens choices, similarly my main two lenses for my Nikon D750 are 24-120mm and 16-35mm. Also, what gorgeous scenery!
Once again Henry absolutely stunning shots thank u for sharing
Brilliant photos as normal, Henry..
Great video as always Henry
Beautiful as always mate.
Like your first shot Henry.
Like the finished post processed image, it certainly shows your off your style on these mountain scenes with your moody clouds and snow covered tops which i like.
Looks like you really enjoyed the day out and thanks for sharing yet again.
You certainly looked like you were buzzing from this venture out Henry. Loved the images and rockin the new hat too
Thanks mate hope you're keeping well 🙏🏼
Would you say that generally you are focus stacking your landscape shots?
Henry those gloves look like a great investment, especially in your part of the world as I’ve heard it can be cold and damp on occasion. I’ve saved the glove website for future reference as my wife and I are moving from AZ to NM soon…
I’ve contemplated a mirrorless camera for quite some time, waited for the Z9 release but decided it’s too much camera for what I shoot. My trusty D700 continues to perform flawlessly but a lighter setup would be nice. How do you feel about the smaller size of the Z7? I say smaller based on my D700…
Love the shots you’ve taken on this video.
Awesome images mate.
Also couldn't resist getting myself a pair of glove which I've wanted for some time. Just hope there the right size when they arrive. 🤔
Brill mate! I used the sizing/measurement chart on their website and the sizing was spot on for me 👍🏼
@@HenryTurnerphoto yes I did mate, I was just a tad bigger than L so went for the XL just hope their not too big. 👍
That last picture top quality
Thanks Tariq 🙏🏼
Wonderful images mate , really enjoyed the video.
That's a great combo. I got my 24-200 just before the holidays and it ends up on my camera almost more than any other lens at the moment!
Another brilliant video, thanks. When you tell us the ISO, aperture and shutter speed for your photos, it would be really interesting to know what settings the camera was actually recommending in "P" mode for the composition, so we can understand how, and how much, you change from the auto settings. Cheers
I use the Sigma 18-250mm 3.5 -6.3 for my main landscape lens it works great except if you get it near the sun it flares really bad even with a lens hood. It gust gives me do many options. I have even used it for wildlife occasionally
I'm curious, what walking boots are you using? I've been failing to find some new ones for a while now 😅
Totally agree about Viewranger. It was the best app around by far but Outdoor active is pants. Unfortunately, I bought a lot of maps on Viewranger and can't afford to buy them all over again on the OS map. But accessing them via OutdoorActive is a nightmare, especially in wind and rain with gloves! Nice walk there, I've never done Weatherlam although I've done most of the tops around Coniston.
@@petercollins7848 the key word there is subscription. What happens after the year? Can you keep the maps? Does the app still work? If so it's a bargain nd I'll do it. But I've already paid over 100 for the os maps on view ranger and they are now totally useless. I'm back to paper. Nobody can disable those.
Hi Henry - Love the images again. You really do get the best out of of the conditions every time. (Bit of a left field question - what's the tune that is playing over the last image? It really matches the mood so well!) Cheers
Missed the question on apps, so I don't know if it was mentioned, but I have really enjoyed using AllTrails to plan out some hikes and also get a sample of what others have experienced on their hikes. It is nicely laid out, and pretty informative of what one will experience on the hikes. Really useful for new hikes. One of the best things about the Z 14-30 and Z 24-200 dual lens setup is the versatility along with the weight ratio for the pack. It's nice to go light weight on the longer or more rugged hikes. Keep up all the great work on the videos!
With a hat like that you better watch out walking around the Lakes.
The Border Collies might round you up Henry.
Lovely video Henry, lovely shots. 👍👍👍👍
Love the new beanie and the gloves. Beanie envy!! Love that range on a lens, I have an old 18-200 Tamron, no IS, pretty sure it would have dust in it, it can't keep up with my camera on continuous, can only use it on the crop sensor, but it is still my favourite because of the focal length. In other words I need to buy another but I cant find one that goes that low and I can use on both cameras ones full frame, the other APSC.
Gorgeous winter landscapes! Love that your shots always give us those grand vistas from high places that some of us could never go!
Again stunning images, the last was amazing. Interestingly my kit is very similar, except with the z6ii, so versatile. Heading to the Lakes next week for the first ever visit, armed with your guide to locations! Cannot wait whatever the weather.
Cracking shots Henry, and a great day out by the looks of it. I've done the Coniston Fells, and after your video, I want to do them again, and will add Wetherlam to the list as well!!
Also, your comments about the Nikon 24-200 are spot on, I bought it as a kit lens for my Z5, and that is my travel kit, nice and light.
Nice mate, they’re all great but Werherlam may be my fav yet
I too used Viewranger until they changed over to Outdooractive. Hated it so moved to OS Maps which is great. Another fab video Henry 🙂
Hi Henry! Fantastic video! I am going on a 4 days adventure to Lake Distinct soon based on your 5 best locations video! Thanks for being our remote guide! I have a question. As I see your images coming out great even when light is challenging, I wanted to ask, do you find that sunrise and sunset to photograph Lake District is a bit overated? Cheers
Great to see Lake District scenes in the winter - some awesome shots there ... in that bitter cold wind, I don't know whether you should be asking for a donation of coffee or a new gas canister for the Jetboil though. Either way, thanks for getting out in the cold and showing us these amazing places.
Another great video Henry, love your set up for gear. I am using my D7200 with a 17-70 mm and 70-300mm, I do have a bunch of other lens but find these two cover mostly everything I need, trying to lighten my load as I get older. Love your work please keep them coming, unfortunately here in PEI Canada no sign of spring yet -5 feels like-12 Celsius with the wind.
Love those Z lenses also. I ordered a 24-120 a couple of months ago. Hope I don't have to wait to much longer. Looking forward to the extra reach.
Me too, considered the 24-200 but the 120 is an S lens and reviews show its sharper so ordered it. Still waiting though
Ordered mine January 5th. How long have you been waiting?
@@scothowe539 Since Feb 10th through B&H
@@jmlr2011 Just curious, do they charge you when it ships or at the time you order? I ended up ordering from Adorama. Would have preferred to buy local but I wanted to get on a list as I knew there was going to be a wait.
My go to was my D850 ( bulky / heavy). I’d been considering the mirror less set up and watching & listening to you (quite some time ago) I took the plunge. Now my set up is same as yours and I’m in agreement with you whole heartedly ~ comfortable.
But; I’m in need of help ‘please’! Focus stacking using 24-200 fine. F/S with 14-30 lens and I’m unable to get it to function » every time a small window pops up “incorrect settings = Focus Mode??? I’ve altered in menu but still no luck …. Can you possibly advise??? OS maps is also my route planner and really amazing especially as it can be used as I hike 🥱
Like the van and good vid.
Never mind lenses and gloves - when is the next van conversion video coming out?
tomorrow mate 👍
Brilliant photographs again Henry. Now off to facebook to give you a follow. :-)
Henry, Love your videos, have the 14-30 and 24-200, great combo, but I love your beanie, how do I get one?
Thanks for sharing again your experience with great interest... love the location & great pics... use of the two lenses is interesting as it shows that you don't need a lot of gear for great results...I use 12-24mm & 28-300mm lens ...also have the 50mm that is great....do you use prime lens at all ?... cheers from Australia 😀
Thanks Robert, I never use primes really
@@HenryTurnerphoto thanks for reply... cheers 😀
I have a wide range of Z glass from the very affordable to the expensive 2.8 Trinity and I just can’t complain about any of them. I’m using my Z7 for almost 3 years and it’s never let me down. I also must say I got the Vallerret Markhof Pro V3 when you first mentioned them at the start of winter and they are just the best. Keep up the good work, you’re videos keep me inspired and I love your van project. Best of luck with that.
That’s great Joseph and thanks mate 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Nice one Henry, some cracking shots… making my feet itch to get out, this weekend again hopefully, I picked up a humongous telephoto lens back in October and I feel I almost have no use for it as it’s a mammoth to take on the fells 🤣 maybe I should downsize to the 70-200 and give that a go 🙈, I dunno man!
Keep at it chief your smashing it 👍🏻
Stunning images Henry, somewhere I'd love to visit one day. I used the viewranger app around the glyderau range and was spot on and like you I've always used it, don't like outdoor active so used the os app and it kept losing my position so I've never used it again. Went back to viewranger but I understand now they're shutting it down now probably to make you go over to outdoor active . Be interesting to see how you get on with os tho budd. Look forward to your next vlog 💪👍
Just “liked” your FB page!
If you have an android phone there is a back door into Viewranger…sadly it doesn’t work for iOS
Loving those gloves but unsure about the hat mate.... ! seen it on twitter earlier 😂 Hope one day to get up the lakes one day, dartmoor is ok to photograph but becomes a bit the same thing so can understand why you travel around so much to these great places. well done on another keep us entertained video love them.
Thanks mate 😂
Another great video with such wonderful views! Love the images you took! I usually use Google Maps for everything, I don't have a special app for it. Though I have to say, in many cases it's not ideal. OS Maps probably is for Iphone? I have a Samsung..
I think OS Maps is for any device, but it’s the UK’s mapping service
@@HenryTurnerphoto Thanks! That won't be too helpful in the Netherlands then 😅
I have the 14-30 for my street photography and been considering the 24-200 for my landscape on the z6 but I have a 14-140 and think I may be wasting my money and just doubling up.
very nice video , thumps up !!! greetings from germany ;-) ps: like your dialect !! :-)
Thank you! 😃
Hi Henry great video as usual, I am waiting for my Z7ii to arrive and was wondering which of the numerous L Brackets do you consider to be the best for this camera, I seem to remember you mentioned is in a previous vid but I can’t find it….all the best
Smallrig one is perfect for me John 👍🏼
Hi
with your shot starting at 9:00, any reason for going wide rather than shooting a pano with your 24-200 in portrait orientation?
No reason mate, I think either would have worked 👍🏼
@@HenryTurnerphoto nice one - thanks. shot at the end is a killer :-)
I’m rolling the exact same setup Henry. BUT…. The 24-200 is a damn dust magnet, I can’t even wipe it off, dust just glues to the element. Know any tricks?
Ah I’ve really not had this issue mate, sorry 😞
The other advantage of your two lenses is weight, because when you have to carry all that gear yourself, weight makes a difference.
Thanks for sharing again Henry.
Stay safe 🇦🇺. And of course….. 38/214
Yes very true John, wish I’d mentioned that and cheers for the update 👍🏼
Camera companies sure know how to market to us photographers to think we "need" the next thing. Great shots Henry. You have definitely became a fabulous role model to many people. Cheers
