I hope you won't mind me saying this but when you're in your element you're like a child in a sweet shop...all smiles and exuding happiness! It's a joy to behold. Lovely video (as usual) and all the images are stunning. Just can't make up my mind between the pano and the final image but on balance I think I prefer the final image...to me it speaks more of the Lake District. Cheers. Ken😀
The view, wowsers. Beautiful 😻 love your content Henry, great photos and your energy and positivity is contagious and I always feel good after watching your videos. Look forward to the next one. 💜
You just can’t compare those last two images. The light in the wide angle is to die for, but the detail of the snow on the mountaintops in the pano is beautiful. Totally different shots.
Great video. That lens is so versatile. With Nikon bringing out the 24-120, will you be looking at that or do you think you have it all with the 24-200. You have a great channel here all the best for the new year. 🥳
Two thumbs up and two big toes! Loved the ice in the foreground with the sun in the background - and that sunburst closing image was my favorite of all.
I have the same kit as you Henry, Z7 with 14-30 and 24-70f4 and the 24-200. I also used to switch to DX to get more reach, giving me an approx 20mp shot. However now I never change to DX, keep it in FX with all those lovely 45mp and crop in Lightroom. This gives me an option of selecting a crop that might be better than the one I had in mind and not wasting image size.
oh yes, Thursday evening elevated from the mundane to the well worth it, another slice of 'HENthusiasm' and a great selection of beautiful and inspirational photos LOVE the pano breathtaking as ever
I was almost about to pull the trigger on the 24-200 until I saw the announcement of the 24-120 f/4. I'm torn because of the extra reach at 200mm but the constant f4 in the new lens is attractive and will pair nicely with the 14-30 f/4 and be consistent through that 14mm all the way to the 120mm range on top of being a light weight hiking kit.
I really love your images, Henry, and for me your videos are really improved by the passion and excitement you bring to them, and your sense of gratitude for all that's possible. You really do inspire me to get out and make some images even if they're not great. It's the energy I get from the process that really counts.
Nice to see not all the snow has disappeared from the fells yet. Luckily you didn’t do an ankle wth that skating stunt Henry. Thanks again for sharing your time and photos. Stay safe 🇦🇺. 32/214
Good Morning Henry! ALWAYS enjoy your adventures!! Love the record scratch everytime you show sheeeeeeeeeep, makes me chuckle. 1st shot, absolutely love the glow from the sun....stunner. 2nd shot another beauty, love the glow and shadows created by the hills. 3rd shot, ice shot is very beautiful. Awesome adventure, thanks Henry
I do it as a hobby, to me winters sucks. It is dark when I go to work and dark when get home. In weekends, No ligth, Grey,Grey Grey, Grey, a sun beame through the cloud, Grey Grey. Best thing for me is editing summer pics, brings Joy. Yeah Wonder why?
Really enjoy your video's Henry. My hometown is on Lake Windermere in British Columbia, Canada which was named after your Lake Windermere. It would be great to see a video from that area. Keep up the great work.
Thanks. Place Fell was Wainwright No. 214 for me so that brought back memories. Agree with the 24-200 amazing and great for fell walking. I question myself sometimes about it being so good, but I find the quality great and as you said so versatile.
Wow! Amazing sun stars! That was a beautiful hike. Your images were gorgeous 📸 Anyone else binge watching Henry's videos? I'm playing catch-up. Keep up with the amazing photography Henry and I wish you and the family a happy new year 🎊🎆🙂📸
Again thanks for sharing your experience with comments... great location and images ..... yes the lens has great results as you said...I have a 28-300mm Tamron on my D500 & love to use most of the time for various reasons...a lot of my pics are taken mid focal length but it is great to have the versatility when needed.. cheers from Australia 😀
The iced up puddle what a fantastic shot Henry, very difficult to decide between that one and the 24-200 pano at the end. Another Wainwright in the bag to boot!
Great video Henry, Its been nice catching back up with your channel. I moved earlier in there year to a more rural area in northern Ontario Canada and have been without internet. Glad to see you are still making videos and look forward to being able to continue following along.
Loved the sun star at the end best. It was the colors (greens, oranges, lilac splotch here, electric blue there), the way the light deepened some, the shadows softened others (all in one shot). And that orange sun star! Entertaining and engrossing video as always. Thanks for taking me up the fells with ya! Cheers!
I like the wide angle shot the most. I shoot a lot with my 70-300mm or 18-200 but I've just bought a Tokina 11-16mm, because I watched you with yours, so I'm playing with that too. Great video again, pure escapism for me.
Keeping it simple, grateful, straight and always beautiful, Henry, defines not just your images, but also your entire approach to content creation. It's really uplifting in these times of such massive darkness. Best wishes to you from Toronto on this holiday season.
Good energy today mate 👍🏼 keep up the good work. When you coming back to the Shropshire Hills AONB? Been some awesome sunsets there with the weather systems recently.
Another great video Henry. Iv learnt so much about photography from yourself and you’ve done nothing but enhance my passion for landscape photography. Like you I tend to favour my telescopic lens (nikon 55-300) and love creating panos. Keep up the great work and look forward to seeing your next video.
Great shots, liked the one with the ice the best. I agree, a lot of people think you only need a wide lens for landscape shots. I have a Tamron 70-300mm SP VC that I originally bought because I enjoy shooting wildlife on the side, but it's turned out to be one of my favorite lenses for landscape shots too, got some wonderful panos with it as well.
Hi Henry, I'm enjoying your videos. I just wanted to query what you said about switching to dx mode for 'extra reach'. Switching to dx mode just masks off the outer part of the sensor. I can't see that that would offer any advantage out on location. You could achieve exactly the same effect by cropping the full frame image in post-processing.
Hi Henry, another top video. you inspired me to make a calendar this year, my first one so I just had them printed to give as gifts for Christmas. not up to your standard, so there is no competition lol. I am still looking to buy a zoom lens for my D5200 so hopefully next year my photos will be better. take care all the best. Carl
Really nice images today Henry. I enjoyed them all. Your second one had great depth with all the layers but I would have to go with the last two for just shear beauty. Thanks for the videos!
Another great video, I've just moved to Nikon with a Z7 and the 24-200 has been one of my first purchases to go with it. I've not had a lot of chance to play with it yet but first impressions are very good and the results you're getting with the same setup make me fairly confident I've made the right choice.
Love your videos Henry, just to point out that putting the camera in DX mode doesn't give you extra reach, it just crops the image. That's no reason not to do it though.
I don’t own a wide angle lens so it’s on my wish list but not sure if 24 is wide enough...probably prefer the 14mm shots on today’s video shoot. Looking forward to when you go up Dovedale from brothers-water...one of the best walks in the Lakes.
Hi Henry, It's Tony here. I always enjoy your videos and this one is no exception. I have 2 questions if I may. 1 - as you often stay on the fell late ( after sun down ) does that mean you are walking down in the dark? 2 - when you focus and exposure bracket together, us it as simple as focus for ground and set exposure for foreground then repeat for mid and or background. Thanks and keep the great work
Thanks Tony. Often coming down in the dark - I have a very good head torch and past experience helps 👍. For point number 2, yes, exactly as you said it mate
What a place to spend the evening with a sunset like that , you captured some really nice images like the wide angle shot with the frozen puddle at 18:11 and the two images from the top the Pano and wide angle, both stunning images but very different perspectives from the same location . Great work as always Henry , take care !
Hi Henry, another grand day out and thanks for sharing. Super images. My preference at the end of the the "sunstar" image with the wider angle lens, but would have been more than happy to have been able to get the pano too. Not too shabby!!. As ever, really enjoy your videos, and your positivity is SO infectious. Keep up the good work , you think you're lucky to be doing this ... I'm lucky to be watching it too.
My landscape kit is pretty much just the m43 version of this lens, the 12-100mm f4. Covers everything, it's incredible, I never need to change lenses. Panos let me get even wider & the high res modes let me get to ~300mm eq handheld or 400mm eq on a tripod by cropping back down to the original resolution. I've basically got a 12-400mm f8 lens in full frame terms. Utter madness, I love it so much. The freedom to explore wherever I want without having to faff with gear is amazing
Memories that will live with you for life - and they are available to re-live on RUclips! Best achieved at your age, Henry
Your enthusiasm is infections 🌸
Brilliant, that's what its about ... getting out there and making the most of whatever "light" is presented on the day!
My 24-200mm just arrived at the house today! Still waiting on a copy of the z7ii. Merry Christmas!
Lovely video…also have the 24-200. Favourite shot was the mountain top pano…👍
That's your Winter! - Wow , we just had a snow storm 38 Cm , here in Nova Scotia.
Loved the last sunset with the starburst.
the pano deserves a thumbs up in its own right. Nice work, Henry
As always, great video and excellent photos Henry. I liked your chat on the 24:200 lens, perhaps I should get one!
Just bought the z6ii with 24-70 couldn't find a UK kit with the 24-200 gutted. Will get it eventually though
Henry. U. Da. Man! Excellent! 👍👍👍✌🏻🇬🇧🇺🇸📷
Just got the 24-200mm. Cant wait to use it. Great vlog as always Henry
very beautiful last picture
Love the last two images. Great way to end the day
Recently picked up a 24-200 for my Z6 ii for an upcoming landscape photography trip. Love it so far! Very versatile.
I hope you won't mind me saying this but when you're in your element you're like a child in a sweet shop...all smiles and exuding happiness! It's a joy to behold. Lovely video (as usual) and all the images are stunning. The view, wowsers. Beautiful 😻 love your content Henry, great photos and your energy and positivity is contagious and I always feel good after watching your videos. Look forward to the next one. 💜
Beautiful captures, especially the last image with sun star.
You are SO RIGHT! Allow the lens to do the work… and you direct it.
You just can’t compare those last two images. The light in the wide angle is to die for, but the detail of the snow on the mountaintops in the pano is beautiful. Totally different shots.
Here's to you, Henry, all that you do and all that you share. Thank you, sir.
Great video. That lens is so versatile. With Nikon bringing out the 24-120, will you be looking at that or do you think you have it all with the 24-200. You have a great channel here all the best for the new year. 🥳
some cracking photos Henry, thank you
Two thumbs up and two big toes! Loved the ice in the foreground with the sun in the background - and that sunburst closing image was my favorite of all.
"Only go wide if I have good foreground to work with" or words to that effect was a light bulb moment for me. Cheers.
love the sunstar shot at the end
Amazing photos Henry!
Recently found your channel - love your enthusiasm for your craft! Thanks for sharing👍
mate i use the 24-200 on the Z6 and i have the 14-30mm but the 24-200 never comes off lol, it is the best lens i have ever owned too.
I have the same kit as you Henry, Z7 with 14-30 and 24-70f4 and the 24-200. I also used to switch to DX to get more reach, giving me an approx 20mp shot. That image at 18:05 is so stunning!! And so is the very last image!

Awesome sun star in the last shot. Well done video.
Great vlog. The last image with the 14-30 lens was my favourite. 👍
Another very enjoyable vlog with some great images. It cheers me to be taken to the Fells again.
The ice image and the very last one with the sun star were my favorites. Keep living the dream and sharing the inspiration.
Nice Henry will look forward to next one

I love your enthusiasm in your videos. it's as though we are on a journeof discovery together. Awesome.
Some lovely shots and another great video - thanks again Henry..☺️
Hard to pick between the pano and the wide angle of the last scene. Both are great.
i love the wide angle picture
Again thanks for sharing your experience with comments... great location and images ..... yes the lens has great results as you said...I have a 28-300mm Tamron on my D500 & love to use most of the time for various reasons...a lot of my pics are taken mid focal length but it is great to have the versatility when needed.. cheers from Australia 😀
Totally agree!
That last picture was gorgeous!! Merry Christmas Henry🎄
Thank you! You too!
The iced up puddle what a fantastic shot Henry, very difficult to decide between that one and the 24-200 pano at the end. Another Wainwright in the bag to boot!

I knew you would love this lens! It's my everyday, walking around, lens.

Your shot with the ice in the foreground prompted me to fire up the laptop for a better view. Absolutely stunning 😍
Good energy today mate 👍🏼 keep up the good work.
When you coming back to the Shropshire Hills AONB? Been some awesome sunsets there with the weather systems recently.
Thanks mate! Yes I miss it round there to be honest, will be back soon no doubt
Another fab video
Thank you Henry. Great work. Do you shoot mostly in Manual ?
Always in manual mate, but probably should used aperture priority a bit more, think I'm just a bit of a control freak with my camera!
The starburst effect Sunset was my favourite Henry. Great video.
Another great video Henry. Iv learnt so much about photography from yourself and you’ve done nothing but enhance my passion for landscape photography.
Like you I tend to favour my telescopic lens (nikon 55-300) and love creating panos.
Keep up the great work and look forward to seeing your next video.

Funnily enough myself and daughter both have a 70-300 and it’s the most used lens for us both
Beautiful photos and what a landscape. I still haven’t been to this area, I really need to!

I do look forwards to watching your channel ~ it gives me that spark of inspiration when I need it. Fab photos [as always]. Thank you for sharing 🐏
Great vid. Interested in the gloves can u share the details? Thanks
Your descriptive words of the experience are hilarious! Love the sunburst image at the end.
Many thanks Karen!

how are the gloves you have on? do they keep the hands warm?
Stunning photos as ever mate and great content.
Love your videos Henry, just to point out that putting the camera in DX mode doesn't give you extra reach, it just crops the image.
That's no reason not to do it though.
i mentioned this on a previous video some months ago, still love his videos and enthusiasm
That's the same range as my Oly 12-100, an absolutely cracking lens. I use it for 95% of my shots.
Thank you Henry, I love the ice and the sunset shot. Well done. 😁👍🏽
Awesome Henry loved the exposure blend, pano and your final sun star.
Great video as always! Love your energy. :) I'm also a Nikon Z shooter. Love the system.
Wonderful images Henry, thanks for another inspirational video 👍🏼
Absolutely amazing photos. Thx a lot for this episode. Love it.
Just subscribed to your channel Henry.Love your photos and enthusiasm💙 Well done!
what about the paralax and the correction on your Pano Shot....???
Hi Henry, what about 24-120 f4 S? :D
Can't wait to get one!
Never used this, looks like a good lens though!
I don’t own a wide angle lens so it’s on my wish list but not sure if 24 is wide enough...probably prefer the 14mm shots on today’s video shoot. Looking forward to when you go up Dovedale from brothers-water...one of the best walks in the Lakes.
Have to agree mate, it's wide, but not quite wide enough - that's why I can't help but carry my wide angle with me everywhere too. Cheers Ian 👍
Very interesting, thanks. I do have a question - why do you not use a lens hood? Do you ever get unwanted flair if you don't?
Hi Henry,
It's Tony here. I always enjoy your videos and this one is no exception. I have 2 questions if I may.
1 - as you often stay on the fell late ( after sun down ) does that mean you are walking down in the dark?

Hi Henry wow brilliant photos mate. I am glad that water was iced up a bit more safe. Brilliant video to. I loved it.
Cheers Andrew 👍
Great stuff Mate! Those fancy boots are not so very good on ice. LOL!!! Keep up the great work!
Hard to choose between the last two. The light is what it’s all about, that’s what I shoot, no matter what the subject.
Stunning yet again Henry. What a great set of photos mate. :-)
