      LOL, that sounds like my approach at fairs.
      This is nice for a project, I might use that for a project, look at that, wouldn't that be nice for a project?
      Sometimes people or stores are having a clearance at a fair and who are we to say no to bargains like that 😁

      @@wellchuffedrailways We may joke about it but in a way we help the smaller stores by buying at fairs.
      And ourselves.
      I never bought anything online from bigger stores, I like to browse before I make my mind up, one could say that looking at a loco in real life adds to the excitement.
      And another good thing is that in most stores you meet other enthusiasts so it almost becomes an outing 😄

      Completely agree Ed, right from the start I made the decision to help promote local model shops on our channel as I don't want them to disappear from the high street. We have done a few vids at shops and are in discussions to do another one in the near future. Cheers Rick.

    Magic, looking at the different layouts is a nice surprise to see the different scales, also the on the trade stands. N gauge is becoming more popular as nowdays, going back to the smaller houses, not a lot of people have room for lengthy loft , or bedroom layouts . if there is space in the garden, a small 6 x 4 shed can accomodate a nice little N gauge layout, - see Simons Shed . But great video , love the bargains.. oh to win the lottery big time.. Thanks for showing/sharing. Like the commentry, gives a good background to what you are seeing.. look forward to your videos Rick and Pauline..

Saturday and Sunday so as it's just down the road from me might go both days! Going to cost me though as i haven' been for so long! Nice video guys at an unusual venue. Keep up the good work. I wonder if there's any GWR clearstory roof coaches in chocolate and cream still around.I think they where products of the old Tri-ang model railways in OO in the late 1950s.As a boy I bought a first-class/second class carriage and a second break coach.They looked very smart being towed behind an 0-6-0 tank engine.I wanted to buy another first class/second class carriage to go with the others but the model shop didn't have any

    As you were buying the Mainline loco at 34:34 you passed right by the unboxed BR green class 29 (for £25, as I recall), just above the IC-125 set
    It was gone by the time I had decided to have a closer look at it (and possibly buy it)

    Mainline were very underated especially the MK 1 coaches and wagons...it was the motors in the locos that let them down. Most my coaches are now Bachmann but I still have 2 rakes of Mainline MK1 Blue/Greys...when released in the late 70's they were far superior to anything Hornby had to offer. I still have two Class 56's...again well detailed and ahead of the time having a driver fitted, working marker lights and headlights, all my Mainline stuff runs well bar the Class 03 which is a bit dodgy at times.

    • @wellchuffedrailways
      @wellchuffedrailways  2 года назад

      I have a rake of mk 1 mainline coaches in Maroon and they still do the job. The wagons are nice and well priced it's just a shame about the motors in the steamers. Cheers Rick
