    Been running my 2006 G3 1860 cc with 50hp yamaha since new and have got it up to 28 mph on smooth river water. I've owned plenty of boats including one that cost as much as my house and the 1860 cc is the one I kept and its been problem free from the start and I've put several hundred hours on it. Great boats.

    My in law has the old style 1860 Grizzly (before 2015 or so) with the same engine and it does do pretty well for a 60. I own the new style with the 90 and I am getting between 40 and 43 or so depending on load. Good boats! I love the low maintenance.

    That was a very helpful video, thank you! I am considering purchasing a 2020 Lowe L1852MT Aura 18 foot Jon Boat, and a Suzuki 60hp for camping, fishing, running around on the calm parts of the Colorado River (there is a 100 mile stretch that is calm, no rapids, and has lots of sandbars to camp on). I really wanted to see the speed of a 18 foot Jon with 60hp pushing it, and your video was awesome in showing me that. Thanks!!!

  • @niceguydmm

  • @bradh74

    30-35 mph is all I got in the boat I had . It was plenty of speed to get around on smaller inland lakes. If I get a mod-v Jon I'll be happy with 25-30 to be honest. If money was no object I would want a larger boat that would do around 55 mph but you don't really need it.

    • @FURREVEROUTDOORS
      @FURREVEROUTDOORS  4 года назад +1

      To be honest I’m not real sure of the pitch, but I am running the 3 blade prop right now. There is a 4 blade prop call the spot fire I read some pretty good things about but just haven’t got one due to the one I have now does just fine.

  • @ccollins1004
    @ccollins1004 4 года назад +1

    What size prop and pitch are you using? If you look in the hub it will tell you. I’ve got a Lowe Roughneck 1860 with a 60hp Mercury Command Thrust, the prop I have on has a 13” diameter and a 17 pitch and I’m only getting 25-26mph with a 4 blade spitfire prop. With the 3 blade I was getting 28 mph but it took forever to get on plane.

    • @FURREVEROUTDOORS
      @FURREVEROUTDOORS  4 года назад

      I wanna day the diameter is 10 3/8” and pitch is 14. Mine gets on plane quickly. Mine also has the pods on the back which helps also. Does the Lowe have the pods?

    • @ccollins1004
      @ccollins1004 4 года назад

      Yup I I have the pods as well. I also have the heavy duty hull which is thicker than the standard. (Thicker than the Grizzly) my old 1448 Grizzly with a 25 hp was getting 25 mph out of it with no load and just me and the dog in the boat.

      I have a 1754 with the 60hp I only get 31-32 mph with 3 adults but my GPS could be wrong who knows . The problem is if I could have upgraded to a 90hp . I would have got 35mph at 3/4 tottle, saving gas and its much better on the motor (4 stroke motor unlike 2Strokes don't like being ran at wild open throttle for long periods of time , I'm not digging your boat or arguing with you , just saying that's what ppl most likely meant when they said why didn't you get the 90 is all I mean . , I mean you wouldn't want a car that you had to put it too the floor to go the speed limit right . It might just be that we have huge reservoirs where I live and a 20 minute run id nothing here , but hey good video buddy

      Our reservoirs here are pretty small. Most of the time I’ll run 3/4 throttle and with that I can get to most places in around 10 min. If I could have afforded it I probably would have went with a 90hp.

      Theres nothing wrong with the 60 horse , and I get it about affordability too , but I must say those 1860s are nice boats

      Never thought someone would be so upset about someone who turns a hat around to ride a boat then put it back right. Guess there’s several other youtubers who need to be fussed at also.
