    I have a 2017 grizzly 1860 CC it has the removable bow fishing deck. With the deck removed with me and 2 friends all avg sized guys, full tank,and gear I can get 37 MPH with the Mercury 4 stroke 90 horse. Just a little info I have to share for somebody wanting to know numbers. And that’s plenty fast IMO

    Hi ! Your video and a few other helped me make my decision on getting one. I ended up getting a 2025 with the 90. I have another boat a Bayliner F16 that has a 60hp Mercury. I wanted to chime in on that difference in power that sort of made me agree with you about the top speed and it was at FIRST made me a little disappointment when I couldn't break 40mph on the lake. I didn't take it out on the water for almost 2 weeks after taking home because I spent those 2 weeks rigging it up to my liking. I'll make a video as well. So, the thing about the power difference after 3 times on the water to break it in was in my opinion your cruising speed. On my bayliner I was always WOT to get 25mph, last time out I took a buddy and his daughter and I couldn't even plane and made pass 10mph. The motor was struggling bad and I was so frustrated that I went out to Cabela's to check out the 1860 after weeks of watching other vids like yours. They had one in the showroom that wasn't listed anywhere and I was like .. " yep .. i want that one" . After doing my 2 hour break in I've come to learn this. My cruising speed is 35mph at 4500 rpm and at 5500-6000 rpm is 39mph but I feel like it still had more to give. My observation is that the motor is possibly sitting too high and will slip at top speed. I'm happy with it's overall performance but I will echo that point about what you said as far as cost vs performance difference. My only point to make about that is the 90 doesn't feel the boat at all. Planning is near instant and before you know it you're doing 30 mph and climbing. That is where that extra power shine veryyyy brightly. Coming from a CC fiberglass boat with 60 and never breaking 28mph even at WOT it is very refreshing. I'm working on a few ideas before I contact the dealer about dropping the engine down lower on the transom but over all I'm super happy with the boat so far.

    I have a 2018 I picked up used the guy before me upgraded the motor to a 90hp and a Bob's jack plate and the shallow water lower unit pickup. $$$. Point blank the boat is AWESOME runs 40 mph w/ 4- blade no matter if I got 2- people an gear or 5 guys an gear jumps up on plane an holds/handles on plane at lower rpms. ALL AROUND great boat hunting 🦆 an fishing fresh salt etc. I did upgrade an installed Hydro turf 4- sheets an had left overs. Much cooler an quieter in the HOT summer heat. Also Bimini top camo shadow grass blades of course 🦆👍an definitely led interior lights under the gunnel. Red. Low profile light bar on bow. Remote switch. Only extra I would think about doing is the rod holder bar across the stern for rod storage or trolling etc. Great video great info. 👍🦆🎣

      Ps. With the 90hp. An the jack plate bob's shallow water nose cone pick up an cavitation plate. The boat will JUMP UP on plane in about 12" of wateror less floats in about 6-8" depending on gear fuel etc. But will RUN in 6" or less no prob. It will get you everywhere a mud motor will go👍

    Put a speaker on each side of console and put the amp under the console. Run Aura Opt7 LED lights under the track systems, upgrade to the 90 horse and get a 4 blade 18 or 19P Stainless prop, seadek the front and back decks, put an ATV tool box bolted to the rear deck as a driver seat and weld up a back brace for it and turn it basically into a leaning post like on any bay boat and then get a lid and back cushion upholstered for it, and then upgrade to a 36V 112lb riptide i-pilot with dakota lithium batteries powering everything on the boat to save weight. Upgrade to a new Lowrance HDS9 in the dash and then another one up front.

    I'm looking at the Grizzly 1860 as my next boat. Love how wide it is. BUT. This is what I know about aluminum boats and salt water. If your trailer has carpeted bunks, you WILL have issues with electrolysis. The carpet will hold salt and no amount of running it through a car wash will get it out.
    And the issue with electrolysis is you can't see it happening, It will set up where the carpeted bunks contact the hull. It'll start out with pin hole leaks. The problem with electrolysis is it will take what should be a lifetime hull and shorten it to 10 to 20 years.
    The good news is all you need to do is take the carpet off the bunks. Aluminum boats don't need carpet anyway. If you fell you need something between the hull and the bunks, get some Glyde Slicks from Taco Marine.

    Had the same boat, every weld cracked and popped loose after 9 years. While it was still under warranty once a year it would go in for replacement. It made it a few years with no problems but finally a windy day on the lake cracked two critical weld along the hull and on of the supports pushed its way through the hull causing a massive leak. I barely made it back in time. Your experiences may vary but I will NEVER buy anything motorized from Bass Pro again.

Me and another guy went a mile or so out in the ocean a few weeks ago and caught several fish. When it gets pretty choppy, this boat will allow some spray to come over the bow but it’s not terrible as long as you trim the motor right and keep the front up. Also the motor is super quiet!

      You could but may get a little tight at times. If your able, Mabey go with the 20/72 if your able to spend a little more.

    Roughly how much have you spent on the accessories you put on?

      I may have $80 in rod holders, and the trolling motor and depth finder was probably $500 a piece.

    Hey man, awesome boat. Do you ever hunt from the boat itself? If so, how do you go about putting a blind on it with the center console? I’m looking at these for a hunting and fishing rig but worried about how the center console would interfere with a duck blind

    • @FURREVEROUTDOORS
      @FURREVEROUTDOORS  3 года назад

      At one time I use to hunt from the boat and had a scissor blind on it. Worked pretty well and killed several ducks. With the versa track on the boat you have several options on how you wanna make your blind. The console may stick up a little but honestly never had issues as long as it’s brushed in real good.

      @@FURREVEROUTDOORS Awesome, thanks for the response man. Did you build the blind or was it something like an Avery, Beavertail, etc.?

      I just used angle iron for the brackets on the track system and make the blind out of conduit. Was far from perfect but it worked lol

    Switch to a four blade prop. Same pitch. Engine digs better out of the hole and will get you on plane faster.

    Not sure if you will see this and maybe you have already addressed it but how is this boat compared to your buddy's Alweld boat?......

    • @FURREVEROUTDOORS
      @FURREVEROUTDOORS  2 года назад

      For the most part they are pretty close. The front and back decks are bigger on the grizzly and the grizzly has a 19 gallon built in tank where his had a removable 6 gallon tank. Handling wise and riding they both do well

      @@FURREVEROUTDOORS really appreciate the feedback. I'm looking to buy a 1860 and those two boats seem to be very similar but I haven't been able to really compare them.... maybe you could get a video comparison of the two if yall had time, just a thought

    I'm getting ready to order one in a few weeks. Trying to decide if the 90 is worth it. I would like to tow a tube or knee board with my family. Will the 60hp work?

    • @FURREVEROUTDOORS

      A 60hp would work, but if your planning on pulling a tube or knee board I may would upgrade to a 90hp.

    I’ve been considering one of these. My only worry is I live 7000ft above sea level and I’m curious how it would handle in the lakes in my area and I like an aluminum utility boat as a family boat for a multitude of reasons. How would you rate this boat as far as a fishing/hunting boat but also a family excursion boat? I’ve been looking at tons of boats and honestly I ended up more confused that I was before even starting my search.

      It’s a great family boat in my opinion! During the summer, myself, my wife and our two boys are always on it riding around, fishing, swimming and just having a great time! That’s what I love about these boats. Can be fishing boats, hunting boats and family boats all in one.

      My biggest concern is high altitude lake running. I prefer the look and functionality of a utility boat but I’m wanting to make sure I can take kids tubing but at the same time get to places you can’t normally get to during hunting seasons. I don’t need a race boat so as long as I can get up to 30-40MPH and feel comfortable on the water I’m happy!

    • @FURREVEROUTDOORS

      I’ve never tried tubing with the boat but I have had this boat way back in creeks and shallow waters. Not sure if altitude will change anything. I wouldn’t think so but not sure.
