Thanks Kyle! The comparison to the bmw is what I wanted to hear. U totally sold it! I am looking for something to do the continental divide and still be solid enough on the highway to get back home.
Glad it was helpful! It really is a sweet machine. I think it is a slightly better road bike than the Africa Twin... I thing it is on par with the BMW and much less off-road oriented than the T7. It is it's own bike... Again, Nice Work Suzuki.
Recently I test drove the Pan America, Tiger 900 , Yami 700 tenre and a yellow 1050XT. Friends have Multi Strada Africa twin and GS 1200. Few days later scored a 2020 for 14300 Out the Door. Really love this bike
Congrats! I think this bike is the most under rated bike in the Adventure space. The technology is as good if not better than most ... man! And it is SOLID. Nice work!
I put 31K miles on the previous XT- it's a damn good road bike, suspension is really good on the twisties once setup for your weight.
I was totally impressed with this bike. Way more so than the previous Gen V-strom. They really stepped it up.
Great review of a great bike. Great surname too!
Ha! Ha! Thanks!
cool looking machine, nice overview, thnx V!
You bet! I really was impressed.
Excellent video, way to throttle on the V-Strom. I have an '18 DL1000XT, the 2020 model is a noticeable upgrade - better balance and throttle response. It has me thinking about trading up. 🤔🏍️
Heck yeah! It is impressive, I couldn't agree more!
Was gonna go for the weestrom 650 for it's fuel range and in city manners but man you are convincing me to the big brother instead. Not gonna lie, I was kinda skeptical when you say it is as good as the R1250 GS. Now I have to save more and wait lol.
Can't wait for some off-road footage of this bike!
Yeah, I wish I could have taken it off-road but that was not allowed at the time. I am really impressed with this bike. I have a friend that does reviews too and his is way more in depth... have a look: ruclips.net/video/nTpO3XyM2oU/видео.html
@@manybikes I'll check it out! Thanks!
That gto though !!!!! Great video man
Yeah right?! "Let's pause here to reflect upon and enjoy this fine piece of American History..." and then to find out it was a chick! SWEET! Now... back to our featured presentation. Ha! Ha! Ha!
not a GTO! it was a Firebird
@@Stevens007one No, really?! Let me review the footage ;)
This is interesting: In 1968, a Pontiac Firebird equipped with a Ram-Air 400 V8 made a claimed 325 horsepower,
while the same exact engine in a GTO made 360.
Why? GM had a rule in the 1960s that its cars couldn't make more than 1 horsepower for every 10 pounds of car (the only common exception being the Corvette, the other secret exception were 427 SS Chevelles sold on Indian reservations). The Firebird weighed around 3300 lb, while the GTO weighed 3600, hence the discrepancy.
@@manybikes that is interesting and I never knew that. Thank you
The best all around " Big" Adventure bike. Reliable, cool retro design, the right amout of tech, smooth reliable engine and easy to drive. The only thing missing in this 1050 XT is the Quick Shifter, and in the ABS version the Cruise control is missing. Great job by Suzuki.
Couldn't agree more! I kept trying to find a quick shifter in the menu ;) with no luck... and as long as a bike is throttle by wire... why not just include Crusie? Makes sense to me! I am impressed with this bike though.
@@manybikes My dream bike...a complete all rounder
Heck Yeah!
Nice review...
Thank you 🙂 Glad you liked it!
Great review. Have to say it. :) A do it all bike overall. :) Keep up.
Thanks for watching! Keeping it up, That's the plan! As for the bike, it is a rockstar!
@@manybikes Yeah, it is. :)
@@RRRRefuelRideRace I would totally take it over a GS! (and I love BMW's)
Great bike!
It sure is!
Nice review, I bought one after seeing few reviews. Very pleased, in some ways its better than my gs1250.
It's a very nimble machine and half the price.Dont think I would take off road ,either of them ,only because they would be a handful, would go for a proper off road machine.
For touring and few gravel tracks, brilliant.
Great to hear!
I think the same. :) For the road use perfect. Drop by when have time. You may like it. :)
High quality review. Being in the market for the Big ‘Strom I’m still not convinced the “new” model is a wiser purchase than a pre-owned ‘18 -‘19 model. Not even close to being convinced . . .
I think the old and the new are "two different bikes" and I do understand where you are coming from. The new one is more like a BMW R1250GS where the old one is more like a Yamaha T7 or a 2016 Africa Twin. Very different bikes for different riders in my opinion.
@@manybikes T7???? I dont think so.
i have the 1050xt explorer with full luggage if you stay below 4000rpm and with all panniers full it returned 65 mpg on a recent trip around southern ireland
Holy cow! That’s crazy mileage!
bonjour cool la video
Glad you liked it!
3000 miles in I'm well pleased with my xt best comment I'll give... not to techy ...great value ...but best is it's easy handling qualities despite weight...atb from UK..
Nice feedback! Thanks for taking the time to share.
Love mine.
Only head scratcher is no self-cancelling turn signals 🤔
Totally!!!
What would you choose between suzuki 1050xt, tiger 900 rally, bmw f850gs and tracer 9?
To comfort trip
What are you trying t set me up for anyway? With a question like that... Well, here you go... The Tiger 900 Rally would be MY pick as it is much more "off road oriented" but I would be Super Scared of not being able get parts (not if... but when) it breaks. I think it is sexy and capable off-road. The BMW F850GS is AMAZING but just does not have the HP or guts of the 1000cc bikes and it is not as capable off-road (I bottom it out a lot!) ...
If riding mostly highway I would pick the Suzuki 1050xt as it is fast and has more capable than the R1250GS! Suzuki killed it... but it is not as "dirt oriented" as I would like. Great answer / non-answer eh? Hope it helps anyway! - Kyle
It's not too hard to add alphanumeric if the hardware is there. I'm guessing Suzuki didn't want to split the case to get XT126
Interesting...
I'm confused about this bike. When I got into motorcycling a few years back everyone I met told me Suzuki fired all their engineers 15 years ago and never replaced them. HOW did they make this bike???
Ha! Ha! Yeah right!? I was blown away at this bike. The build quality, technology, how user friendly it was... pretty amazing! All that and the DR650 and DRZ400 are still running around drinking from Carbs. So interesting.
How v-strom performs in twisties road compared to Gs?
The v-strom will go head to head with the GS in the twisties for sure! The GS will dive less in the front due to the telelever but ... the computer technology in regards to breaking on the v-strom is FAR advanced! I would take the V-strom over the GS any day of the week.
How does this compare to the Yamaha Tenere?
I think this 1050xt is more closely compared to the Super Tenere than it is the T7. The T7 is much more off-road oriented and the Super T is much more of a touring machine. Those two are very similar... but the electronics on the 1050xt are super!
It also has cruise control ....
Yes it does! I did not test it, but it is a standard feature. Pretty sweet.
Nice looking bike Kyle!...just colors ...kind of ... KTM's ??...😊
It's great looking machine.
Dam and no wobble
It’s a great bike
@Kyle Bradshaw OK? My eye on the vstrom or a super tenere. Its gone be a hard choice
What would you choose between crf1100 and Xt?
For me… I’d take the CRF1100 as it is more off-road oriented … but if I was more touring biased I’d totally pick the 1050xt
@@manybikes thx a lot!
The xt really is a direct competitor to the current R1250gs BMW. I really like the bike!
@@manybikes what a pity he has no quickshifter.
@@daneluta welcome to 2023!! Now it has and tft! Revised gearbox and suspension
I don’t know about little, I saw the 650 in the show room and I thought it was a thousand.
Yeah, the 650 and the 1050 are pretty much the same size physically. It's the motor that is the biggest difference.
Who are the "Ohters" at 15:28 :)
Not following you... you like when it ends the best ;)
@@manybikes Me being a tight anus, just a spelling mistake in the scene "Ohters" instead of "Other"
What's the most spec of v twin mean vstrom?
V-tiwn motor is what the V stands for.
@@manybikes but much more vibration and much heavy weight and less the features
I don't know... I disagree with you there! The R1250GS is much heavier and the parallel twin is a "boring motor" and the electronic features this bike beats out the BMW hands down... I vote 1050xt.
@@manybikes strom is a German word, forget what it means thou.....Google it?
How tall are you?
5' 9" with a 31" inseam.
I'm 5'6 32 inseam, I was barely on my toes when I visited suzuki. Man I wish I was taller
@@kevindbuan2364 It is a sound bike!
@@kevindbuan2364 You can lower the seat
130mph and no riding jacket?
I am running a forcefield body suit under my t-shirt and jeans. LOVE It. Not good for abrasion resistance but superior for impact.
@@manybikes may the Forcefield be with you
All they are is wind guards, not hand guards
It’s true!!!
