    The first 15 seconds of this video is exactly what every powerlifter needs to hear! Especially the new age ones. I haven’t been around the game as long as you two but fuck even in my 7 years of this industry it seems the game just keeps moving more towards trying to make weight or look a certain way at the cost of long term potential.

    Something I love about Dan Green, one of the greatest powerlifters but so humble. Kind of reminds me of myself in facial expressions and the way he talks, very soft and passive, low talker, inverted.

    Stan is doing a lot of Top athletes nutrition these days. Not just Dan but the likes of Larry Wheels, Hafthor and Brian Shaw amongst others. It's pretty easy to follow in terms of simplicity too.

    • @dude157
      @dude157 7 лет назад +1

      eric yam depends if you like steak and rice. I personally don't follow it precisely, those who aren't bodybuilding and/or at the pinnacle of powerlifting can afford to cheat a little, I cheat because otherwise I don't have the discipline to do it.

    • @Qwerty_789
      @Qwerty_789 7 лет назад

      Sam Smith his diet is extremely unhealthy especially for enhanced powerlifters since their cholesterol would already be high

    • @dude157
      @dude157 7 лет назад +12

      I'm not an expert in these things. Stan recommends everyone gets regular blood work done, I'm sure if he found an issue with himself or one of his guys he'd bring it up.

    Due to my battle with colon cancer since 2018 red meat is out of the question... Chicken and rice and fish would have to replace steak ,but my thing is the training...Dans training would grossly overtrain most lifters...im much older and 4 times a week hitting it hard of course is hard enough to recover from...Darryl

    • @xinsanedefeatx
      @xinsanedefeatx 7 лет назад +5

      Lmao 7lbs isn't even cutting? And that's a water cut? Almost across the board high level powerlifters say there is no point in cutting unless you have a high chance of being competitive at a high level, especially for your first meet. Just go and smash as much weight as you can, worry about cutting a couple meets down the line maybe, no one cares if you're light for 198 class or what you're hitting at some local meet

    • @thebreweryfitness8696
      @thebreweryfitness8696 7 лет назад

      The problem is staying relatively lean in off season of men's physique is a need. I absolutely love powerlifting and it gives me plenty of drive to train when I'm in off season. So for me cutting 7 pounds is a lot different than a non-lean guy cutting seven pounds. At this point I am thinking I can make it 181 and not really hurt myself anyways.

    • @thebreweryfitness8696
      @thebreweryfitness8696 7 лет назад +2

      Thanks for the help everyone! One thing I can say is the powerlifting community has been extremely welcoming to me coming on board in my off season. Great sport, great people! Going to smash some weight!
