In this video, I meet up with my friend Swan and his Resto Mod Chevelle Malibu, named Malibeast. Swan bought the car for $300 when he was eleven years old. The car now has 10,000 miles on its current build, 22 years later.
Swan's favorite feature of the car is the supercharger, which sits on top of a junkyard 6.0 LS block. It has forged internals, a boost cam, and port and polished heads. The car produces around 585 wheel horsepower and 640 lb-ft of torque. The transmission is an LT Type T56, rebuilt with Corvette servos and LS shafts.
The car is described as a resto-mod, retaining some hot rod character with a classic look. The interior is mostly factory, except for a billet specialty steering wheel and dedicated gauges. The paint is a factory 2012 Camaro Corvette Ashen Gray Metallic, which appears darker due to a black primer undercoat.
Swan highlights his Billet Specialties Street Lites and the loud exhaust system.

If you’re going to mod one of these THIS is how you do it. Super tasteful. Well done, amazing car.
Thanks for the kind words!
Thanks for reachnig out and all the time you put into making this happen! You've got some serious talent and I am stoked we got to collab. You're only going up! Great job telling my story Ben! Cheers!
I appreciate it! I had a lot of fun making it with you👊
wicked car man. thanks for sharing the story about your dad. he would be proud.
👊🏼👍🏼
Such a great video of that awesome car!
Great car. I too have a 69 Malibu. Your car is pretty much where I'd like to be at some point. I've had mine for 39 years. I'm the 3rd owner. I'm glad you did everything to yours before you got married. Because, let me tell ya, things change dramatically after. I didn't really hot rod mine when I was 17. (I'm now 56). I made it a driver. Originally it was a 307, 2bl, 2spd powerglide, manual steering, manual brakes, 3.08 axle with open rear end. I've put in a mild 350, 350 turbo trans, have ceramic coated long tube headers, with 2.5" exhaust, Eldebrock intake, front disc brakes, was originally Frost green, now 72 Impala green. Green interior, I was on a budget at 17, lol. Interior was mint, so I was limited to colors. Bodywork and paint was done 37 years ago, it needs to be redone. But I'm more focused on HP, now. Maybe when I retire, I'll focus on the body. But, for now, I just drive it.
These are the builds I love to see. Keeping it mostly true to the era, but upgrading a few parts to make it safe, fun, and his own personal style. Very nice!!
Thanks for watching Andy!
Exactly... Carbon fenders and CNC foose tailpipes in valances is tacky minitrucker sema stuff imo.
Thanks for that!
Great car and owned by a real gearhead with a gearhead family
Yes👌
Thanks!
Points for keeping the chrome and not shaving the bumpers. My Malibu is a decade newer but I agree that some things are tasteful to just leave alone. Also killer video 🔥
Thanks!
thanks dude!
This car is absolute perfection. My first street car back in the '80s was a Chevelle, so yeah, gotta sweet spot for these lol
Thank you!
Normally more of a 70 Malibu fan, but I love the look and stance on his 69, and that front lip spoiler really sets it off.
Looks cool!
Thanks so much!
That thing rips, the throttle response is sick
Very fast
It wasnt running 100% but it def has some heat on it!
Nice ‘69. You did it right. You kept the bright, bright.
Thanks!
Damn bro, the story about your Dad hit hard.
For real, greatly missed but always cruising with me now!
One of the nicest I’ve seen in a long time
Thanks for watching!
Gorgeous, love the paint stance and trimmings.
Absolutely the best looking Malibu I seen. Love the stance. Wheels,...the package all fits and looks snakey, Road racing/street fighter vibe x 10. Congrats on a fantastic build
Thanks so much!
Cool build and the owner seems like a cool genuine bloke.
Yes he is!
A bloke indeed lol, thanks brotha!
Swan has a really sweet Chevelle. Actually, other than sorting the things he mentioned, I would not change much. I love the color, wheel / tire setup, touches of chrome, the hot rod rake and the very stock appearing interior. I see so many pro-street classics with tubs, massive tires that just kill the everyday drivability. This is one that you could take a nice road trip in. Maybe the only things I'd add are a fire extinguisher, roll bar with some provisions for 4 pt harness. Maybe a brake upgrade if that wasn't done yet, although I'd keep those same size wheels. I'm sure his father is watching over him and happy of his son.
Brake upgrade in process, some big baer brakes. I do have fire extinguishers in the car but they are the single use sticks. I would love a harness bar and harness soon!
Real people, real builds, and excellent filmwork! Another great one, Ben!
Thanks!
His work is epic!
Thanks for keeping the chrome add stainless looks very good
Wicked Chevelle. Sounds amassing and it’s quick. Love it when guys keep and improve there first cars. Great to see he’s kept the stock look will drivetrain upgrades…perfect👌

He did a damn good job! I had a lot to say after owning it 20 years lol
Not a Chevelle guy but that car is badass! Sounds amazing!

Ben, do you or have you ever considered traveling to film vehicles? Might have something you’d be interested in filming in Houston that would be perfect for your channel! My uncle has a wild 67 GT500 with a cool history and it’s been through several motors to what it is now. It’s a monster.
8:06 pigeon in the back was intrigued
They wouldn’t leave us alone lol
Hey Swan ,

69' Chevelle for the win 🏁
Yes!!!
Well done as always Ben! Neat car. It’s more modern than my taste but you can really tell Swan’s roots are founded in old school hot rodding. Stance and taste are what make a killer car like this one. I truly admire sticking it out all the years to get it finished and super reliable!
Much appreciated!
Thanks for the kind words!
Nice car!!! Makes me miss my 69 ss.

Another amazing video! 💯
Thanks Lev👊
Amazing. Only odd part was saying the T56 manual trans has a "corvette servo" which is an automatic transmission part
Thanks for the correction, definitely said the wrong part. Trans are one thing in a car I have yet to really take a part and fully understand.
Excellent.
Thanks!
Cool car!
Yes!

$300 great buy.Looks like he put some blood and sweat in that beautiful ride.If you think it’s fast now wait til he gets everything dialed in,then pay him another visit in A year. The way your mustang sounds lately it looks like you are on that path lol.
Yes, he has put a ton of work into it!

Everyone has one 😂 Even me!
Dude, I knowwwww...good ear!!!!
Probably the Corvette servos
Working on a 396, please shoot me the info on the LS swap guys. Thank you
I WANT THIS CHEVELLE!!!!!!! Or at least DRIVE it!!!!! LOL
If you size a turbo right, you shouldn't have much if any turbo lag, especially with a V8 and standard transmission
Who is the model? Where can she be found? Oh yeah, your stuff is always good, now who is the model?
Beautiful car, what are the wheel and tire specs ? (Backspacing). Thank You
Another one 🤌
Thanks!
