  • Pretty mellow blue bird day in Lassen National Park with Zoe on 1/8/22. Checked out a new area to snowboard here and the terrain options were endless once we crested the ridge. We could also see Mt. Shasta from the ridge. Snow turned out to be really good, but was able to find some sub-surface crust in areas. The temps were getting pretty warm quickly, so we opted out of going to the summit, opting for better and safer snow. We will definitely be back for more this season!

Like how do you avoid that sulphur spring? If you fall in does it boil.you alive or is it just hot and you can get out but it's wet

Get good at reading topographic maps, buy the California backcountry skiing book, download Gaia and practice

Yup! The only challenge is getting over the hot creek each way.
