You might want to start out by restoring an aluminum pie pan and work your way up to the Vespa.

started the restoration , half hour later forgot what he was doing . put it back together .

OMG! Far far away from the restoration.Half removed paint,perforated mud guard,no serviced engine,brakes, etc.,etc.Sorry man that's simple terrible!
U forgot the broken tail-light... i was like "wtf why would you put broken parts on a restoration?!"... then i realized the video is already over 😑
And I don't like the outcome!

restoration means disassemble everything, wheels, body, engine, clean everything change whats broken and then reassemble

Yeah i too was looking foreward to seeing a "new" Vespa...bad restoration...could of done better myself haha...
Also it means to bring it as close to factory as possible... i don't think piaggio would ever deliver a vespa with a broken tail-light, missing paint and crud all over the inside parts....just saying

Some of the surface and finish prep was clearly done off camera. And please, even if you have the best camera work, the most fascinating subject matter; 11+ minutes of looped royalty-free music will drive even the most dedicated viewer absolutely bonkers!

I love it too much
*Somehow I expected more than what was done, especially the 'inner components' in the
handle-bar nacelle and the replacement of rusty screws/throttle-cable/brake-cables/brake-pads/wheel-bearings/and other items that are critical to function and use.
I understand not doing a 'full-on restoration' because it wasn't wanted and then makes the
machine susceptible to being stolen.
*I would've done the same 'cosmetic' issues, but a complete 'replace/repair/refurbish' of inner
components that are not normally visible but are important for use and reliability*
( *If it 'looks like junk' no one will steal it!* *Very clever!* )
didn't look like he even greased the throttle or clutch handles. oh well
@@wakeoftheflood2 *I would go w/new cables over 'greasing originals' because of the stretch factor involved in braided-steel cables...steel does have 'give' in it when braided and they do wear over time*
*Besides, new techniques in manufacture are much better than decades ago and new cables should last for decades*

Do you know what while the description is mis leading, The actual product came out pretty cool looking. Looks like the guy did the best he could with what he had, and it made his brother happy and that was the end goal. Yes it wasn’t a restoration, but it made a cool looking little bike

Not professional. You have to strip all from frame, clean from rust, old paint, oil, grease. Then recover all surfaces using filler and use again sandpaper. After finishing, use primer and then final coat.
I like it because it looks like a hot rock but you could do it better, I know you all have the habilities. Greetings from Dominican Republic 🇩🇴
While certainly not a "classical" restoration it is taking something and restoring it to functionality. As a rat rod lover I like the patina.
The music however leaves much to be desired.

It’s not restoration, it’s just messed up cleaning dust from outside even a kid can do, the rust was and dust remained inside as is it.

Over all, you didn't do too bad, I feel you should have put more work into the handles and cleaned them up more. I'm sure people would appreciate having a part in the video saying why you aren't painting it would make people happier. In my opinion you should have painted it with a primer then you could put a chrome paint job on it then the clear cost if that is the color your brother is going for. Also, I feel that you shouldn't use music on these types of videos. Just a bit of constructive criticism :)
