Truly an art form. I would be lost after I took the first thing that had multiple pieces apart. Lots of experience needed to do something this detailed. I feel a sense of accomplishment when I charge my battery.

In 1978 I was 17, beautiful and in love for the first time. I look at this and I remember one time seeing something like this when I was young and I thought how romantic it was. You have turned the clock back and made it romantic again. I love it!👍🏼🤍

Wow. In 1973 as a high school kid I worked at Lambert's Toy Castle in Claremont New Hampshire. We sold Vespas and I bought this exact scooter used for $150. I got my motorcycle license the day I turned 16, didn't have an operators license yet as I didn't have a car yet. I rode that scooter all over New Hampshire, Vermont, and even rode it down to Connecticut. I put three thousand miles on it! A six pack of soda fit perfectly in the glove box. Im 64 now and remember those fun times riding that scooter everywhere as a high point of my life. I graduated to a motorcycle and gave the Vespa to my step dad, and he rode it to work for many years. After he was done with it I gave it to a friend in Connecticut and to the best of my knowledge my friend still has and uses it. This guy did one hell of a job restoring this old girl. Very talented man. ❤️

I used a squire (purpose built) vespa sidecar "tradesman's chest" trunk. It used existing centre stand 8mm bolts to secure the sidecar arm. I toured Europe on the rig.
You MUST use stainless steel SHANKED bolts & nylock nuts or double nuts to secure to chassis! If you use full threaded bolts, the sidecar rig bolts will wear loose & it will drag you across the road, with little warning & you will have NO Control..!!!
You have been warned!! & NEVER use spring washers either...(only use flat washers to secure sidecar frame to scooter chass)!
Extra security drill out 8mm holes to 10mm for 10mm shanked bolts.
...It's your life!!! Stay cool SX

I restored loads of vespa's and lambrettas there were too many short cuts on the engine restore .Using old rubber parts . They should of been replaced as they are cheap . Like the kickstart quadrant rubber we always replaced things like that . There was not much left of the original scooter. The finish was not too bad but I would rate the restore as poor .

Congratulations on an amazing restoration job - I honestly didn't think it was possible to rebuild it and for it to work again. My only change would be to have 2 tone paintwork, like red and white, and also have a nice painted design on the front of the sidecar, like a tigers roaring face or the family crest. Something that means something to you.
For me, I would have painted it dark, sparkling metallic blue, with silver accents, and a jaguars face on the side car. I think I would have embroidered a jaguar design on the back seat cushion as well, but I suppose everyone will have their own ideas, but since you are the one that did all the work, its your opinion that matters. Great video which I really enjoyed and am looking forward to your next one.
