    I clicked on this already certain it would be one the best things I heard in a long time and still got blown away. Another shoutout to you Fred, you and Gerald Clayton are carrying the jazz piano torch in these times.

    You can hear where his pupil Brad Mehldau picked up his two-handed counterpoint and much else (not to take anything away from Brad's originality and creativity).

      That's exactly right. There is so much Fred Hersch influence in Brad Mehldau's playing. If you listen to Mehldau's "Airport Sadness" you can hear the amount of Fred Hersch in his playing.
