That's exactly right. There is so much Fred Hersch influence in Brad Mehldau's playing. If you listen to Mehldau's "Airport Sadness" you can hear the amount of Fred Hersch in his playing.
An absolute masterpiece! Too bad we don't see the score, that counterpoint must be a marvel to look at! A real joy to hear music like this, especially in our times. Thank you, Mr Hersh.
